There wasn't any emotion on Hendrix's face when he heard this. His eyes narrowed slightly as though he was judging the credibility of everything I said. This was probably the first time Evan has ever lied to Hendrix. After a long moment of silence, he didn't dare to even look up for fear of being found out.

Aaron, who had been standing guard in the corridor, noticed that our voices had died down. He walked in slowly and said, "How many days have passed since the accident? You're special to us, but your so- called family hasn't even reached out to you. Have you forgotten what it's like to be abandoned since you've lost your memory?"

Nothing in the entire world could compare to this.

Although Hendrix had been under the control of the Marshall family for six years, the Roberts and Marshall families lived far apart from each other, as far as I knew. Based on Hendrix's personality, it was a very shallow relationship. It was normal for them to not contact him for several days at a time.

But Hendrix had lost his memories, so he was very irritable and easily angered now. After hearing Aaron say all of that, his indifference towards the Marshall family intensified.

He looked up at Aaron for a few seconds and sighed. "Since you've all decided already, do I have any right to speak?"

He then walked out and towards the children who were playing.

Aaron looked behind him and laughed. He said jokingly, "I've underestimated him. He has a very clear grasp on his status, but he's still so ill-tempered."

"This is already very difficult for Hendrix." I quickly changed the subject. "Tomorrow, I'll take him to the Roberts Group in person. You have to find a way to get the news out to the Marshall family, especially Jordan. We can't make any mistakes here."

"I understand," Aaron answered. Before he went downstairs, he walked over to Wynn's room and leaned against the railing in the corridor. He was looking into the room with a bright smile on his face.

I couldn't help smiling at this as I shook my head. The people around me had such sharp tongues, but were all so soft-hearted.

Evan had plenty of business to settle, so he dragged Hendrix into the study, leaving us in peace.

The next day.

After sending the children away, Hendrix got dressed. When I came down, he stood up from the sofa and walked over to me. He had his chin up, and his chest was puffed out. He looked like a mannequin on display with a meticulous pose.

After standing still, he slowly raised his arm and beckoned me to hold it. He lifted his chin arrogantly without saying a word. His charisma was undeniable, making me feel as though I fit naturally to him as an accessory.

In the past, I would have let him have his way. But today, I decided to go against him.

With the hem of my skirt lifted, I walked past him and headed straight to the door.

After taking two steps, I felt a burning gaze at the back of my head. I quickened my pace and left Hendrix behind.

After sitting in the car for about a minute, Hendrix arrived. He sat next to me with a dark expression on his face, his body looked deflated.

His anger was obvious enough, but l

We didn't speak the entire ride over to the Roberts Group. Hendrix didn't even smile once.
