My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) -
Chapter 810
Looking at him, anger suddenly flared within me. I got out of the car and went straight into the hotel.
The receptionist looked towards me and greeted me with a smile, "Welcome!"
"Please get me a room, thank you!" I handed my bank card and ID to her.
I saw that she didn't take them, but she was looking at Hendrix, who was following behind me instead. His figure was tall and slender; he stood out everywhere he went.
Hendrix stood next to me and looked towards the front desk, saying, "There's no need. A room has already been reserved."
He was obviously directing these words to me.
The girl at the front desk looked a little awkward. She handed me the bank card and ID, saying, "Miss, please keep your documents."
I frowned and said in a heavy tone, "How could your hotel even be considered a five-star hotel when customers can come in to stay without having to register their ID?"
The receptionist was at a loss for words. She pursed her lips and looked at Hendrix for help.
I handed the bank card and ID to the front desk and continued, "Please hurry up. I need a room."
After a moment's hesitation, the reception booked me a room in the end.
Hendrix let me do as I wished and didn't say anything else.
I took the room card and entered the elevator. Hendrix followed right next to me without saying a word. The silence was deafening.
People can be strange sometimes. We knew that we held a grudge deep within, that we were both in a terrible mood, and that we should tolerate each other and make our thoughts known. But despite knowing all these, none of us were willing to speak up.
As I entered the room, Hendrix followed behind me. I went in, then turned around to block him outside the door.
It was obvious that I refused to let him in.
He knitted his brows. He looked at me with an icy gaze and said in a cold tone, "Arianna, must we be like this?"
He was one-head taller than me. Looking up at him, I pursed my lips and ignored his icy gaze. I replied mercilessly, "Yes!"
He was already halfway in. Subsequently, I raised my hand and shoved him outside, then slammed
the door shut.
I also locked the door from the inside.
This hotel room was worth more than a hundred grand. It was as cozy as a home. It had a lounge, bedroom, and kitchen. Even though it wasn't as big as the villa in Jarold City, every necessity was well- prepared.
I merely cast a glance at it. I dialled Aaron's number, which was instantly picked up.
It seemed that Aaron was sleeping. He asked in a low voice, "Arianna, what is it?"
I looked up at the clock on the wall, only just realising that it was already dawn.
I hadn't wanted to disturb him initially, but since the call was already connected, if I didn't say what I wanted to say, that would be even worse than just disrupting his sleep.
After some thought, I said, "Could you ask Uncle Charles to contact the person- in- charge in Hanlusia City? Anne has gone missing for almost 72 hours. Although the Saunders family has been trying to look for her too, they've already been on the search for so long, but to no avail. I don't know what to do; I could only call you."
Speaking until here, I was already choking; my throat was in unbearable pain.
It was quiet for some time on the other end, then
Aaron's voice sounded more sober as he said, "Don't worry, Uncle Charles and I will come to Hanlusia City immediately. We'll definitely find Anne."
A warm current suddenly flowed through my chest, and my eyes became moist. I was momentarily at a loss for words.
After a while, I said, "Aaron, thank you."
I could obviously feel that Aaron was frowning on the other end of the line. In a more serious tone, he said, "Arianna, we're family; there's no need for thanks between family members."
I nodded. Tears streamed down my cheeks; I was touched.
Hanging up the phone, I felt an inexplicable sense of security.
I heaved a sigh of relief as I gradually regained my senses from the fear and worry I had been experiencing. I only just realized that I had broken out in cold sweat due to the shock.
