I placed down my phone, then turned to go to the bathroom. I turned on the hot water and had a quick rinse.

When I came out, I saw Hendrix standing at the bedside. I was caught off guard and was so shocked that I almost screamed.

As I had rushed here, I didn't bring any change of clothes. So I directly threw my clothes into the washing machine after my bath. I came out of the bathroom only wrapped in a bath towel. Although we have already seen and embraced each other stark naked countless times, but making eye contact at this moment still made my cheeks burnt with embarrassment.

"How did you get in?" I had locked the door, so how did he still manage to come in?

His dark gaze fell on me, his brows furrowed. "Arianna, let's talk," he said.

"There's nothing for us to talk about right now. It's already very late. It's time for bed," I said as I sat down at the edge of the bed and began drying my hair.

He took away the towel from my hand. Frowning, I lifted my eyes to see him drying my hair with no expression on his face.

"I can dry it myself!" I said, as I reached out to grab the towel from his hand.

He avoided me.

I pursed my lips. My initially suppressed anger was increasing. Somewhat angrily, I said, "Hendrix..."

Out of the blue, he suddenly lowered his head, held my face in his hand, and kissed me without any warning.

There was a great disparity between the strength of a man and a woman, not to mention both of us were holding grudges. Hence, his kiss felt somewhat like a punishment; it almost suffocated me. If he hadn't been afraid that I would suffocate, he might have continued kissing me.

We made eye contact as we stopped kissing. I turned away to not look at him.

He reached out his hand and raised my chin, his dark eyes sparkling mysteriously as he gazed at me, saying, "Shouldn't I be the one who's angry?"

He asked with a grudging look, even looking somewhat pitiful.

I turned my face away, removing my chin from the palm of his hands. I looked at him and said angrily, "Then you can continue being angry; I'm going to sleep."

Hendrix was so angry that he laughed, his voice carrying a hint of resignation as he said, "Arianna, can't you be reasonable?"

"No!" I had already decided to throw a tantrum at him. Hence naturally, it can't be resolved just like this.

He had probably already figured it out too; he decided to stop talking. He took off his coat and threw it aside, then raised his hands to unbutton his shirt. I stared at his beautiful, slender fingers. He looked at me with his dark pair of eyes, his movements were elegant as he cast a hinting look at me.

"Why... Why are you taking off your clothes?" I stuttered.

"To sleep!" he said. He had already unbuttoned his shirt and tossed it aside. The hotel was well heated; his well-built body was exposed in front of me without a hint of shyness. Instantly, I curled my lips and subconsciously looked away. As the saying went, see no evil, avoid what is contrary to propriety.

I could hear him chuckling. I couldn't help but speak up, "Hendrix, you..."

His movements were swift. He had already thrown aside his suit pants and came closer to me.

I was taken by surprise, then reflexively moved aside to dodge him.

I hadn't even climbed to the other end of the King sized bed, when he grabbed me by my ankles and pulled me closer into his embrace. Being held in his arms, I was getting angry and glared at him. I growled, "Hendrix Roberts, what are you doing? I want to sleep." "Okay, sleep then!" The man's voice was soft, with a somewhat coaxing tone. "It's already dawn. Let's go to sleep."

Somehow, these words sounded as if they were implying something. After all, we were a man and a woman lying down together like this. But all he did was hug me. There wasn't any other movement. A few minutes later, I couldn't help but lower my guard.
