Chapter 38

I ran as fast as I could plowing through people.

"Opal!"

I just have to follow that voice.

I pushed through the crowd of people as I listened for Kenzos call again. I can't stop. He'll catch me if I stop.

"Opal! Damnit, where did you go?!"

That was close. Really close. I stopped to scan around me.

I don't see Kenzo. He sounded so close though.

I turned around again, just in time to see the man coming after me.

. He smirked at me, and I took a step back. I turned my body ready to bolt, but smacked right into a hard chest.

My arms reached up to rest of the wall of muscle. Hands gripped my wrists. I looked up at Kenzos face.

My entire body relaxed. He found me. Kenzo found me. I'm safe. I'm finally safe.

I squeezed onto Kenzo harder, but he isn't looking at me.

Kenzo is staring daggers behind me. He turned us around, never taking his eyes off of the man. Kenzo tucked me behind him as he faced the man.

"You." Kenzo sneered.

The man just sneered back at him.

Do they know each other?

Before anything else could be said, the man looked at me.

He smirked, and blew me a kiss. Kenzo's entire body tensed up, and he took a step forward. The man threw something at Kenzos face, that he caught by the way, and then he man ran off. Kenzo took another step, to go after him I assume. I held onto his shirt though, stopping him. I rested my head on his back as my body started shaking.

That was so scary. That was the second time that that man tried to kidnap me. I was almost kidnapped. Again.

What would he have done with me if I hadn't run? Would Kenzo have found me in time?

"Let go of my shirt so that I can turn around kitten." Kenzo said softly.

I immediately let go. Kenzo turned around, and before he could do anything else, I threw myself into his arms. He wrapped his arms around me, and kissed the top of my head. "It's alright now kitten. I got you." Kenzo cooed softly.

"That was so scary." I whispered as I cried into his chest.

"I know. I'm with you now. You're safe." He told me.

When all I did was breathe in response, Kenzo sighed.

"Come on, let's get out of here." He said.

Kenzo had to peel me off of him. He tucked me under his arm as he walked us to the exit. I can see Kenzo scanning everywhere, just waiting for that man to pop up. God, I hope he doesn't. Once we reached Kenzo's car, Ben hopped out immediately.

"Sir, what happened?" He asked

"Just drive us to the restaurant Ben." Kenzo said as he opened the door, and ushered me into the car.

"Sir. is Opal okay?" Ben asked sounding worried looked up at the two of them. Ben's worry is all over his face. Kenzo looks mad. Like really mad. Like it's taking all of his will power not to lose his s*hit. "I'm okay Ben. Really." I said looking between the two of them.

Ben doesn't look like he believes me, but nodded anyways.

Kenzo climbed into the car next to me. He immediately put up the diver, and then pulled me into his lap.

"What the hell happened Opal? I told you not to go more than four feet from me. This is exactly why we have rules." He scolded me as he wiped the tears from my face.

"I-I thought you were r-right b-beside me." I stuttered out.

"Wh-when I couldn't f-find you, I w-went looking for y-you.

Then I. ran i-into t-that m-m-man." I said as I gripped Kenzo's shirt tighter.

Kenzo is wiping away my tears as fast as they come. He looks really pissed off still. Which just makes me feel even worse.

"I-I'm s-sorry." I said.

Kenzo stopped wiping my tears to hold onto my face. He stared into my eyes for a few seconds. I just pouted at him as my tears continued to fight.

"You need to tell me exactly what happened Opal. Do you know that guy?" He asked

I shook my head between Kenzos hands.

"N-no. I had never seen him before that night at the club.

That's the man that followed me when I left that night. The reason why I hid in the Pet Store. I pulled my phone out to call you when I couldn't find you-"

"And he took it." Kenzo said interrupting me. "You called me right before he took it. I heard him ordering you to walk.

That's why I started calling your name." He told me.

I gave Kenzo a small smile.

"You ran didn't you?" Kenzo asked.

I nodded.

"I pushed him when I heard you calling for me, and I ran towards you." I said.

Kenzo smiled at me as he carressed my face.

"Good girl Opal. That was a very good girl." He praised.

My smile grew as I leaned into his touch.

"Kenzo.. Do you think that it was coincidence that that man found me again?" I asked.

"I don't know kitten. It would be pretty stupid for him to stalk you after what I did to him that night." He said.

I gave Kenzo a confused look.

"What did you do to him?" I asked.

Kenzo sighed as he let go of my face. I didn't realize that I was straddling him when he pulled me into his lap. It's always so comfortable to be this close to Kenzo Suzuki that I never care how compromising the position might seem. "After I sent you home that night when we first met, I found the guy that was waiting for you. He got a warning." Kenzo said vaguely.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What did you do Kenzo?" I asked.

"Nothing that he didn't deserve." He said dangerously. "I found drugs in his pockets Opal. He was going to kidnap you that night. Just like he just tried to do today." He said.

I know Kenzo is right. That's why I was so scared, why I still am. I was almost kidnapped twice by the same crazy man.

"He took my phone. What if he got personal information-" I tried to ask, but Kenzo cut me off.

"He didn't have enough time to do something like that kitten, relax. He might have put a tracker, or something in it though. I'm ordering you a new phone. It'll be at my apartment tonight. I'll make sure that you get it tonight. I'm posting a body gaurd to your apartment complex as well." He told me.

"That isn't necessary Kenzo." I said.

"Do not argue with me about this Opal. It's happening no matter what you say. You need protection, and I can't be with you all the time." He said. "Ben will be driving you anywhere that you need to go as well. I'll make sure you have his number tonight. Call him if you need to go anywhere. Even if it's just the grocery store. Understand?" Kenzo asked.

"Kenzo, I think-"

"Understand?" Kenzo asked angrily.

I nodded my head.

"Yes, I understand.. sir." I said.

Kenzo's body slumped against the seat as he stared up at me.

"I will not lose you." He stated.

That was when I realized it.

Kenzo was just as scared as I was. He was scared that we wouldn't have made it to each other in time. That I was about to be kidnapped right under his nose.

Kenzo told me that a Dom's job is to protect his Sub, and make her happy. He said that's why we have rules. Rules that I must follow. Those rules really are there to protect me.

That's why Kenzo let me lead the way when we got to the Aquarium. Why he let me have all of the junk food I could eat. He was trying to make me happy.

Not being more than four feet away from him was a rule to protect me. I didn't think I would actually need protection though. My Dom is always thinking of me, making sure I'm safe and happy. My Dom..

"I'm okay now Kenzo." I said.

I moved my hands from his chest to his face. I can feel his slight stubble. His skin is rougher than I thought it would be. He's so warm though, so inviting.

I smiled down at my Dom.

"Thank you." I said.

"For what?" Kenzo scoffed.

"Being such a good Dom." I said softly. "If it wasn't for you I would have been taken today. You found me, and kept me safe."

"I almost got you kidnapped." He argued

I shook my head

"It wasn't your fault Kenzo. You saved me. Twice. You're like my personal superhero. And I feel safe now. More than safe. And I will most definitely never be more than four feet from you again." I said Kenzo narrowed his eyes at me.

"It's two feet now." He said.

"Okay." I smiled

"Actually, you must be touching me at all times when we are out together. Holding hands, my arm around you, anything so that I know you're right there." He ordered.

I nodded my head as my smile grew.

"Okay. Whatever you want." I said.

Kenzo blew out a breath.

"I don't suppose you're hungry?"
