Next One Is a Babe
Chapter 1614

He's not talking. Probably asleep. Cindy waited for a moment, then she said, "You're such a jerk, lan." Not like he can hear it anyway. Cursing him made her feel better, and she hung up after that.

Total silence fell on her room after that, and she stared into the dark. Well now I can't sleep. She didn't know why lan called her after he got drunk, and she didn't know why he talked so much nonsense. Cindy thought they'd only talk again when she went back to hand over her job to the next assistant.

She turned around, pulled her blanket up, and covered her head. Cindy was confused. Really, she was.

lan woke up dazed the next day. He lost his memory halfway through last night and didn't know where he was. The first thing he did was push himself up and look around the room.

One look and he knew he was at Logan's club. He came here countless times, so he knew the rooms' layout. Ian didn't get out of bed immediately though. His head was buzzing, and he knew he was hungover.

A while later, he took his phone. He wanted to take a look at the time, but the moment he unlocked it, he was greeted by his call history. And the first record was a half-hour call he had with Cindy. Shocked by what he saw, lan sobered up immediately and stared at his phone. A moment later, he realized he made the call late at night last night.

lan gasped, since he had no recollection of that call. Half an hour? What did we talk about? He didn't feel sleepy or hungover anymore, and he felt nervous. With him and Cindy being in this awkward situation, he'd never call her if he was sober, since they had nothing to say.

lan was frustrated, and he didn't know what to do. A few minutes later, the waiter knocked on the door and asked him if he was awake. He also asked lan if he wanted anything to eat. It was way past breakfast time, and any later would be lunchtime.

Truth be told, he was hungry, but he didn't feel like eating, since the call history horrified him. He called back out to the waiter and said, "Not at the moment. I drank a bit too much last night. I wanna rest up for a bit."

Hearing that, the waiter left without saying anything else.

lan remained on the bed, wondering if he should call Cindy again. He wanted to know if he said anything inappropriate last night. But even if he called her, he didn't know what to say, and he was too embarrassed to bring the call up. After mulling over the situation for some time, he eventually got out of bed and went out of the room.

The waiter came back up with a glass of warm water. When he saw lan, he asked, "Are you alright, sir? Here, have some warm water. It might help."

No, it wouldn't. Ian would rather get himself drunk again and forget about the whole affair, but that was just him running away from the issue.

The waiter didn't know what he had in mind, and he handed lan the glass of water. Ian didn't want to refuse, as it would seem rude, so he took it and finished the water. Honestly, it did help a little. His stomach felt a lot better. A moment later, he asked, "Where's Logan and the others?"

The waiter knew that question was coming, so he said, "Mr. and Mrs. Jefferson stayed for the night last night. They're both downstairs. The madam is already up as well. They're chatting downstairs."

Madam? Oh, Aurora. Ian nodded. "I see." He turned toward the restroom. There was a bathroom inside, and it came with toiletries. After lan went in, he locked the door, sighed, and took a bath.

At the same time, Logan and Lola were downstairs, asking Aurora about lan and Cindy's situation.
