Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 83

Lexi's POV

"My eyes? Why?" I asked curiously.

"Just close them," he repeated. I did as he asked and snapped my eyes shut. I suddenly felt him behind me. My heart raced with anticipation as something cold grazed my collarbone.

"You can open your eyes," he said. Opening my eyes, I gazed down at my neck and I was met with the most beautiful diamond necklace I had ever seen. It glistened brightly. I took a closer look and it was a breathtaking moon and star piece. "Wow," I gasped, holding the necklace in my trembling hands in awe.

"I didn't know if you would like it but I wanted to gift you something special, something that shows how much you mean to me," he said with a warm smile. Tears welled up in my eyes as my fingers grazed it fondly. I looked into his gray orbs and I was speechless. He was putting in so much effort to make this work whereas I was still doubtful.

"It's beautiful, and it means the world to me. Just like you mean the world to me. Thank you for this incredible gift," I said in a sincere tone.

"But, I didn't get you anything. You went through so much preparing this for me. You even gifted me such an expensive necklace but I can't give you anything in return..."

"You can give me something," he said, taking my hand in his. I stared at him in surprise.

"I can? Tell me what it is. Whatever it is, I will give it to you without hesitation," I assured him confidently.

"Your heart. That's all I want. I don't want you to be with me because I'm your mate and you feel obligated to do so. I want you to be with me because you wholeheartedly want to." He paused his hand reaching for mine. He continued in a whisper, "I want you to be mine in every sense just like I'm yours. You're my moon and stars, the light in my darkest nights. I love you more than words can express." he confessed.

I stared at him in disbelief as he declared his love for me. His eyes, shimmering with sincerity, bore into mine as he professed his affection.

"I love you, Lexi," he whispered, his voice filled with tenderness. My chest tightened, and a mix of emotions flooded me. My love for Mason was undeniable. I fell in love with everything about him for a while but I was too scared to admit it. I had a secret, a part of my past I had never shared. There was nothing I wanted more than to share my feelings with him and tell him I felt the same way. But guilt gnawed at my heart, preventing me from uttering those three cherished words. My secret, a dark shadow from my past, held me back. It was something I knew I needed to reveal, but the fear of losing him had kept me silent.

Darcey felt the turmoil in my heart. She sensed the unspoken truth. In that moment, Darcey howled in a mix of emotions-love, yearning, and a deep desire to be honest with the one we cherished. I knew I needed to share my secret, to bare my soul and trust in Mason. Although Darcey didn't speak in plain words, I knew she was secretly reminding me of our bond.

"Is there something wrong? Are you that surprised? You haven't said a word," he asked gently, brushing my hand with his thumb. His touch no longer made me feel fidgety and I knew it was time I finally told him about this before he heard it from someone else. With my heart beating wildly, I took a deep breath to calm myself down.

"Mason, there's..."

"It's okay. You don't have to repeat what I told you. You can take your time, I don't mind," he said with a smile.

"But..."

"I don't want you to feel pressured. This dinner was for you to relax. The band is still playing. We should dance. Can I have this dance my lady?" he asked, getting up and stretching his hand towards me. I shook my head.

"Are you scared? You don't have anything to worry about. I won't bite," he teased.

I scoffed getting up from the chair. "Don't be cocky. I should be asking if you are scared. Think you can handle me?"

He laughed. "I like the confidence but I've been doing this since I turned seven. I can't even dance with my eyes closed."

"Who knows? I might just beat you at your own game. Shall we?" I asked, walking past him towards the dance floor. A fast-paced song came on and we both danced till we became breathless. I laughed so hard at our silly dance moves. "So? How was I?" he asked just as the music stopped.

"Not bad. You were better than I actually expected," I replied with a wide smile on my face. The band started playing a slow-paced song and he moved closer to me. I placed both of my hands on his shoulders and he held my waist with both hands.

"I still remember the first time we danced this way. You hated my guts," he muttered with a smile. I smiled recalling the memory. It felt like ages ago. But, I didn't hate him then. At that time, I was confused by my own feelings.

"I did and said so many mean things to you back then. I'm sorry for that," I apologized. I knew I was insensitive back then but my rage had me blinded.

"It's fine. It's all in the past now," he assured me. I hugged him, placing my head on his chest as we gently swayed to the song.

"You have been so encouraging and sweet to me Mason. Sometimes, I wonder if this moment is even real. I wonder if I'm not imagining things. Always protecting and taking my side without any questions. With you, I feel alive and wanted. Thank you for showing me my worth and for the gift," I muttered.

"Your words mean more to me than you can ever imagine Lexi. And I wish I could stay here in this space with you forever. We go back to the real world tomorrow. It's going to be tough because everyone knows about us. But, I want you to know that I will always be by your side. Promise me you won't let people's comments upset you. If someone says something to you, will you promise to tell me right away?" he asked in a serious tone.

"I promise," I replied. A cold droplet of liquid fell on my back and before I knew it, a heavy downpour began. I squealed in surprise.

"Come with me," Mason said, pulling me towards the inner part of the boat. I knew the boat was huge but I didn't know it was this huge that it even had rooms. He led me to one of the rooms. I ran my hands through my wet hair. "Here, I don't want you catching a cold," he said gently drying my hair with a towel.

"I can do it myself," I replied, trying to take it from him.

"Let me. If it was left to me, I would never allow you to touch a single thing with your delicate hands ever again. I'm always at your service," he responded. My heart swelled with joy. He cupped my face with his hands as he gently wiped away the water from my cheek with his thumb. He looked me in the eye and I saw that it was filled with a mixture of emotions. I saw anticipation, longing, and something else that I couldn't quite decipher in his eyes.

He dipped his head to my face and brushed his lips over mine. I opened up like a flower in full bloom immediately wanting to taste him in my mouth. Once I opened it, he kissed me passionately and groaned. My hand reached for his unbuttoned shirt and it fell to the floor in the next second. I placed my hand on his chest and he pulled me closer.

"You think he's going to stay with you if you don't sleep with him?" I recalled their words.

"What's wrong?" Mason asked, pulling away. Did he notice that?

I shook my head. "It's nothing. Let's continue," I said leaning back towards him.

"You spaced out for a while," he replied.

"It's really fine. Don't you want me anymore?" I asked.

"Of course not. How can you say that? I want you more than I've ever wanted anyone. But I don't have any lingering doubts. I want our first night together to be special and memorable. You deserve that," he responded, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. How could I have ever ever thought all Mason wanted from me was s*x? How could I listen to such a thing about him? He has proved to me several times how much he really cared about me. He was not Nick and he would never be like him.
