Owned By Her Triplet Bullies
(Bk 2) Chapter 86

Mason's POV

I gently tried to pull Rachel off me but she wouldn't let go. I wasn't done processing what I had heard earlier and here she was adding hers to it.

"Let go, Rachel," I said. She shook her head vehemently. I pried her off my body forcefully. I didn't like her being close to me in that way, I didn't like anyone being close to me except for one person. "Ouch!" she yelped out in pain and that caught my attention.

"Are you okay? You should have let me go when I asked," I muttered.

"I was only showing my affection. How can you roughly handle me like that?" she asked with a frown.

"I'm sorry. It wasn't intentional," I apologized. I was just feeling frustrated. I never should have done that. She smiled.

"It's fine. I knew you would never hurt me on purpose. You can make it up to me," she replied, trying to get close to me again. I stepped back.

"Rachel? Aren't you tired of doing this all the time? Because I am. I'm tired of having to go over this again and again," I said out of frustration.

"I won't ever get tired of it. I'm going to continue until you get tired of her and come back to me," she replied firmly.

"What do you feel for me?" I asked all of a sudden. She frowned.

"What sort of question is that? Do you think I'm here because you think I want your money or status? I have money of my own..."

"I didn't say you wanted my money. I asked what you felt for me. What do you want from me?" I asked again.

"I already told you how I felt..."

"That wasn't the question Rachel. What if I decide to date you like you want? What will that mean for you?" I inquired. I knew what I was trying to make her realize and she was going to, soon enough.

"It would mean everything to me because that's what I always wanted. I care for you and you know it. I..I love you," she stuttered.

I shook my head. "You don't. If you did, you wouldn't stutter."

"How would you know that? You aren't in my heart, are you? You can't know what I feel," she retorted.

"Even though I know you are wrong, I won't argue with you. I want you to go home and think about what we've talked about. If you still don't change your mind, then we can talk about it. I don't like how we are right now Rachel. You were my first friend. Even though I pushed you away countlessly back then, you didn't give up on me. You were the only kid who stayed by my side then but now we are always fighting and arguing. I don't want to fight with you anymore," I replied sincerely.

Her expression softened but it disappeared as soon as it came. "You are going to be disappointed when I don't change my mind. Then, you are going to have to choose between me and her," she replied, staring behind me. I glanced back and saw Lexi standing farther away from us.

"Lexi?" I called out in surprise. When did she follow me out? She slowly walked towards us smiling faintly. Her eyes were puffy from the crying earlier.

"Have you been there all this while?" I didn't wait for her to respond as I turned towards Rachel. "You knew she was there all this while?" I asked.

"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't," she shrugged nonchalantly. A car suddenly honked loudly pulling up in the driveway where we stood. I quickly pulled Lexi out of the way towards me. I stared at the car with a frown. Who would drive to the pack house so carelessly? And where were the guards?

"No way," Rachel muttered. I glanced at her and she was staring at the car in shock.

"Who's that?" Lexi asked.

"I'm as confused as you are," I muttered without taking my eyes off the car. A woman suddenly stepped out. I recognized her even though it had been so many years. Her lips were in a thin line as usual and her nose was up in the air. Mady, Rachel, and I used to make fun of her and refer to her as the wicked witch of our pack because of how strict she was.

"Mum?"

"Aunty?" Rachel and I called out at the same time. She walked towards us. Her gaze lingered on Lexi for a while in a condescending manner before she looked towards Rachel.

"You know I always fulfill my promises. I told you, I would come and drag you away if I had to and I did," she said.

"Why didn't you inform me you were coming? If you had, I would have picked you up from the airport," Rachel responded.

"Liar, did you think I was going to fall for that? If I had informed you, you would have run away again. You can't fool me countless times and think I wouldn't get the hang of it," she retorted.

"Ran away again?" I asked in surprise. She finally turned towards me.

"She did. She has been behaving like this after her surgeries. She even refused to go to the dancing academy after her surgery all because of you. I don't get why she's so obsessed over you. Useless," she spat angrily.

"Mason isn't useless. Your daughter is right here. If you have any questions, direct them to her instead. I'm sure she's in the best position to answer your question," Lexi replied politely.

"And who are you that dared to interrupt me?" she asked angrily.

"Mum please, you are going to cause a scene," Rachel pleaded.

"You, keep quiet. I'm not done here. This good-for-nothing boy, you have decided to ruin my daughter's life. Her future is bleak because of you. She could have been at the academy right now but she got into that horrible accident because of you. As if that wasn't enough, you talked her into not going to the academy again. She's wasting her life over here..."

"Mason didn't talk me into not going for the academy. I decided not to go myself, it was my choice and I'm going to stand by it. You can't change my mind," Rachel replied. I glanced around hoping we were not attracting the passers-by.

"You now talk back at me because of him?" she asked in disbelief.

"Rachel is right. I never spoke to her after the accident. We only met when she started our school and I had no idea she was supposed to start another academy. Have you stopped to think if you are the problem here? Stop pushing your dreams onto her. It's obvious she doesn't want to dance..."

"How dare you!" she screeched, raising her bag up to hit me with it. I stared at her unfazed. It all happened in a flash, I didn't know when Lexi stepped in front of me.

"You good for nothing scumbag!" she screamed, hitting her with her bag repeatedly. My eyes widened in shock as I hurriedly pulled her away.

"Aunty Felicia!" I growled angrily when I saw the bruise forming on her face.

"I'm fine," Lexi muttered assuringly.

"Can you stop pretending to be fine for once? Take a look at your face, how's this fine?" I asked irately. I turned towards Rachel's mum.

"This is an assault under the law and if I call the authorities, you are going to get locked up behind bars. I don't care what you think of me or if you hit me but don't ever come close to Lexi. I won't tolerate it," I warned firmly.

She scoffed in disbelief. "Are you threatening me now? Have you grown so much that you can now threaten me?"

"You can take it however you want to," I replied. I've tried all this while to be civil with her because she was Rachel's mum but it just wasn't working. Mady and Torres suddenly came outside.

"What's going on? We heard your voices from upstairs," Mady asked with a frown.

"The second pea in the pod is here. Took you long enough," she replied.

"Mum, please! Can you quit embarrassing me?" Rachel asked and angrily walked towards her car.

"I'm not done here. I will make sure to come back," she threatened before walking towards her own car.

"Aunty Felicia's trouble again? Does she never get tired?" Torres asked with a sigh.

"Lexi, you have a bruise on your face. Was it her?" Mady asked worriedly.

"It's nothing. I'm fine," she replied with a smile. I walked past them towards the house. I headed right into my room without looking back. I was mad but it wasn't at her, not even after all I heard. I was mad at myself. I was her mate and I'd spent a lot of time with her yet I had no idea she had a mate before me. "Mason?" she called out walking into my room. She had a mate who rejected her. I had no idea she had been through so much pain. And the fact that I had to overhear this fact from her when she didn't want me to was maddening.
