When Sean woke up, it was already dark. He moved, only to realize that Cindy was sleeping beside him.

Sean froze for a moment, reached out and touched her head. Cindy woke up in a daze, “Dad, you’re awake.”

“Well, where is your mom?”

“She has gone to the company.”

Cindy sat up from the bed. Sean also sat up and was about to get out of bed. Cindy patted the bed and said, “Sit back!”

Sean chuckled, sitting upright on the edge of the bed, “What’s the matter, my lady?”

Sean was so cooperative that Cindy almost laughed. She held back her laughter and asked with a serious face, “Where’s your wallet? Why didn’t you bring it back?”

This was the first time that Cindy turned over his things. His wallet was left in the company in the past few times. Although Cindy was unhappy with that, he usually took the initiative to explain it.

She never took the initiative to ask why he didn’t bring his wallet back.

Sean was puzzled.

Was it Amber who instructed Cindy to ask this?

It was possible. Amber was not interested in him, but she hated Lin Man.

Sean pressed his lips, feeling complicated. After all, his wallet was indeed given to Lin Man. Would Amber get angry?

“Your mom wanted you to ask this?”

Cindy shook her head and said, “If mom cares about you, I wouldn’t have to be so worried.”

She said, shaking her head with a helpless expression, which looked funny and cute.

When Sean heard this, his heart ached. Cindy bit her lips, looked around and whispered, “And because of that, mom scolded me, saying that I violated your privacy and shouldn’t have gone through your stuff.”

Cindy’s eyes were filled with tears, and she pressed her lips, “Dad, I don’t turn over your things usually. Mom said if you want to marry someone else, I have to accept it.”

“But I don’t want Lin Man to be my new mom.”

Sean’s heart froze. He held Cindy in his arms and whispered, “I won’t marry Lin Man! I promise you.”

Cindy was in a better mood, pouted and kissed Sean’s cheek. Then she put on her shoes, and ran out.

Cindy lacked calcium. The maid made shrimp for her. When Amber came back from the Smith Group, Sean was sitting at the table peeling shrimp for Cindy. He peeled one. Cindy dipped it in the sauce and ate it in front of her. A phone was placed in front of her, playing cartoons. She kicked her legs, not ladylike at all.

Amber also spoiled Cindy, but had never spoiled her like this. She stared at them with a worried look.

“Miss White, you are back.”

The butler smiled and gave Amber a stool. Amber sat down and the servant handed over a pair of cutlery.

Amber knocked on the table in front of Cindy. Cindy subconsciously sat up straight, then put the phone aside, and stopped kicking her legs.

Sean noticed this. When he was about to say something, Amber lowered her head and had started eating porridge.

He paused.

Cindy ate by herself. Sean was peeling the shrimp. Cindy reached out and snatched it from Sean, and said in a low voice, “Dad, I’ll do this myself!”

“No, the shrimp skin is hard. You’ll get hurt.”

Cindy hurriedly shook her head, “No, no, mom said, I should do my own thing. I will be careful.”

Amber didn’t look up. Sean took a deep breath and said with a slight complaining tone, “Cindy is still young. Why are you so strict with her?”

Only then did Amber look up. She glanced at Sean, and smiled, “Mr. Smith, you did things on your own when you were a child. Why shouldn’t your daughter do the same?”

Sean was speechless.

“That was not what I meant.”

Amber smiled slightly, and whispered, “Cindy is my daughter, and I have the right to teach her. I hope she can be a little more ladylike. Is that too much?”

Sean was dumbfounded.

Cindy’s behaviors were indeed not ladylike!

Sean was a little guilty. When Cindy and Amber were together, she was so well-behaved, so her vices must have been developed when she was with him.

He pressed his lips and changed the subject, “Amber, I need your opinion on something.”

“What is it?”

Maybe she stayed abroad for too long. She had become more mature and capable with a great temperament.

“My father asked me to take Cindy to change her surname tomorrow, and then put her in the family tree.”

Amber’s eyes turned cold.

Sean hesitated. Cindy was brought up by Amber, and Amber’s cooperation was needed in this matter.

Would she disagree because of his indulgence towards Cindy’s bad habits?

Sean added, “My current physical condition is known to everyone. People with ulterior motives are very likely to hurt Cindy. Whether Cindy is my daughter is the most concerning thing in the business world. In other words, they care about whether I have an heir.”

Amber understood and whispered, “Tomorrow, I have to go to the securities company and join a dinner party in the afternoon. I don’t know when I will be back.”

“The day after tomorrow will do.”

What Amber said was not an excuse. After she took charge of the Smith Group, it caused an uproar.

Xu Lin said that the Smith Group’s entertainment company made a movie which was about to come to screen on New Year.

She had to pull strings for this matter. Sean was supposed to eat with Mr. Lin. Because of Sean’s condition, the appointment was pushed back again and again.

Mr. Lin was considerate of Sean, and didn’t blame him. But if the appointment was pushed back again, Sean would inevitably offend Mr, Lin.

Amber asked Xu Lin to set a time.

In the afternoon of the next day, Xu Lin ordered a western restaurant that had a good reputation and was overcrowded. Xu Lin had booked a private room in advance. When Amber entered, Mr. Lin was already waiting for her.
