Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 726

The atmosphere in the room turned palpably tense and everyone held their breaths.

"You've had too much to drink, Brock!" said someone, standing up with a knowing look at him to sit down.

Realizing that he had spoken out of turn, Brock immediately put down his bottle and muttered an excuse, "Ahem, I need to use the bathroom!"

When he came back, no one strayed back about Simon's and Addy's past, skirting any mention of anything before and kept the conversation swirling around their recent activities and the atmosphere quickly turned back to warm and merry.

Simon had three glasses of red wine and it was Emily who drove them back later.

They said nothing all the way with only the music from the radio filling the emptiness between them. Perhaps it was the kick from the alcohol, Simon spoke little and from her angle, he seemed unusually silent. They stepped into their house and quietly changed into their slippers.

Emily deposited the keys on the little bamboo basket on the shoe rack and asked with as casual a tone as she could muster, "You and Ms. Swan... Were you a couple before?" "Mmhmm," Simon's Adam's apple stirred.

He didn't deny it...

Emily felt her heart being bludgeoned by a blunt knife.

She looked up and saw him staring at her with those charming eyes of his, "Where's your ring?"

"It's here," she motioned with her right hand. She rolled her eyes with a tinge of annoyance, "Have you gone blind?!"

Simon seized her hand before she could retract it, his thumb and forefinger rubbing the silver ring on her finger tenderly. Softly yet clearly, he said to her, "You are my wife, Emily."

"..." Emily licked her lips.

Was this a reassurance?

She closed her eyes and her grandmother's loving and meaningful voice came back to her again: What's gone is gone. What matters now is your future together...

She watched him, his long legs pacing lazily back into the bedroom. She flexed her fingers and asked finally, "Are you not afraid that you would be punished for going against your vow, Simon?" Simon stopped in his tracks for barely a beat before he went back to his usual pace as he continued walking.

He giggled deeply and evaded the question by merely saying, "It's getting late. Let's take a shower and go to sleep!"

Emily came out of the shower behind him. She barely reached the bed when his arms shot at her and grabbed her, pulling her into his chest..

With a devilish grin and a curt "let's make a baby", he held her face and kissed her full on the mouth.

Overwhelmed by him, Emily could hardly breathe.

He was kissing not on her lips, but on the tip of her heart.

This fellow...

Since he had found the excuse of making a baby, he has taken to making love without any hint of shame or hesitation at all!

It was nearing the end of their day and Emily was busy touching up her final draft. Beside her, Tina was almost finished packing up. "I'm bringing Isla to enjoy a feast of crabs. Would you like to join us?" "Nope!" She shook her head.

"Huh?" Tina gawked at her.

A shy expression wiped across Emily's face and she mumbled shyly, "You guys go ahead. I'm going to the movies with Simon tonight!"

Just ten minutes ago, Simon had sent her a text, asking her to come out as soon as possible. The DC film franchise was nearing its end and tonight was the final screening for the final installment. Tina suddenly looked surprised with a dawning realization, "Ah... So the beautiful lass has a date tonight!"

"Stop it!" Emily was embarrassed by her teasing. She narrowed her eyes at Tina and scowled, "I was just about to ask you! Now tell me what's going on! Isla said something about an insurance agent who's interested in you!"

"Surely you're not going to take a kid's word for it!" Tina shook her head furiously as she grappled with embarrassment, "My family had arranged for a blind date that I could not refuse, so I brought Isla along. But I was surprised that he wants to take things further!"

Emily was stunned. She didn't expect Tina to

go on a blind date, even though it felt normal when she came to think of it.

Then she remembered the time she mentioned Tina to a male volunteer who was smitten with her and Simon told her, "Aren't you afraid that my brother would be sore with you?"

She frowned at the memory and asked hesitantly, "So what do you think..."

"Me?" Tina looked down for barely two seconds before breaking into a wry smile, "You know that I'm not young anymore, Tina. I'm a single mother too. I'd say that attention from the other gender was something I did not expect. But I suppose we should take things slowly and start being friends first. If things go smoothly, perhaps it could be a good match!"

Emily opened her mouth as if to speak, but she did not know what to say, realizing that she could only bob her head by way of a response.

It was time to get off work. They quickly packed up their things and left the office. The usual black Cayenne was already outside and Simon was standing there, leaning on his car with a cigarette smoldering in his finger.

Emily walked up to him and asked, "Tina, do you want us to drive you?"

"No thank you!" Tina shook her head, just ending a call she had to take. She waved her phone like a wand, saying, "I have someone coming for me. The match I told you of. He says he's free, so he's bringing Isla and me out. He'd be here, so I'll wait for him!"

Tina might have mentioned about considering, but Emily did not miss the faint trace of reluctance fleeted across her face.

She nodded, just about to say yes when Simon said suddenly, "That looks like my brother!"

Tina turned stiff.

Emily turned her head and saw a sleek black sedan parked behind Simon's Cayenne. A chauffeur got out and opened the rear door and Wilson Chin, in his dashing suit, marched over, the rim of his glasses glinting coldly in the evening sun.

"Get in the car!"

Wilson grabbed Tina's wrist.

Tina frowned. She tried to shake him off, "I've got someone coming for me!"

That did not dissuade Wilson not one bit. He pulled with more effort, the eyes from the other side of the glass lens flashing dangerously. "I'm not saying it the third time. Now get it, or I'll make you!"

Emily did not know what to say. Both her husband and his brothers really did have a penchant for forcing their woman to be obedient.

"That's enough, Wilson Chin!" Tina burst out, her face reddened with anger.

"Enough?" Wilson narrowed his eyes at her as he repeated and scoffed, "So you're not willing to step into my car after sharing my bed for three years?!"

Emily's eyes widened with shock. Tina's face went ashen pale, "You-"

"I said before, I don't wish to repeat myself again!" Wilson Yu exuded dark anger, without any trace of the warm and affable demeanor usually attributed to businessmen. He bent down and carried Tina off her feet, hoisting her over his shoulders like a log, and tossed her roughly into the rear passenger seat before barking at his chauffeur to drive.

"Ah!" Emily covered her mouth and gasped hushedly.

The black sedan drove off and Simon exhaled a smoke ring, "So, you like that kind of thing, Mrs. Chin?"

"No!" Emily immediately shook her head like a rattle drum.

Then she ripped open the door and slithered inside quickly.

What a joke! If she allowed Simon to carry her like that, she could end up as the main subject of pantry gossip for the next few weeks, easily drowning over the fervor of Wilson's shenanigans just now! They had a meal at the Cantonese restaurant in the mall and they were riding up the elevator to the cinema upstairs, about to get some soft drinks and pop corn when the PA system announced their screening and people filed together to line up to have their tickets checked and they saw many couples in the line.

Simon and Emily had not been on a date like normal couples since their relationship had entered a stiff tundra for the past three years. They had not been out much, let alone movie dates and as they strode inside, Emily slipped her hand into his.

Her fingertips barely made contact when he felt her and he quickly wrapped his around hers. Then he leaned over to kiss her, and not without licking her lips very briefly when he was done.

Emily blushed and wiped the remaining saliva on her face.

They went in and found their seats - right at the middle in front of the large screen where they would get the best view.

When the intermission ended, the lights in the screening hall dimmed down to begin the film.

The show was only just beginning when Simon's mobile phone suddenly vibrated. He answered it quickly and Emily caught the furrowed eyebrows and the creased forehead. Thinking that it was an emergency at the hospital, she asked, "What's wrong?"

Simon pursed his thin lips and stayed silent for a second before he hesitantly allowed, "Addy is drunk at the bar."
