Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 725

Emily regretted her decision to come along as soon as she got off the car.

Addy was reminiscing with Simon about the classmates of their year and maybe because they had a lot to catch up, Emily felt herself being kept outside a bubble.

She felt like a puppy that had been forgotten by its owner, being left behind all on its own.

She stared at the pair walking side by side in front of her. Heaven could crash and fall on their heads and Eddy Swan would still be just as ravishing and beautiful as always. Not helped by the fact that in her high-heels, her one-seventy centimeters tall and slender figure made her the perfect partner for Simon to walk beside with.

The triangle relationship was beginning to take its toll on her.

Caught in a trance, she stumbled all of a sudden.

She almost fell down but a long and fair arm came under her, then the familiar masculine scent and breath hit her in the face. Simon, who was in front earlier, had backtracked for her. Wearing a laugh, he teased, "You can't walk without ever tripping can you, dummy!"

Emily retorted sharply, "There was a stone!"

Simon lifted a leg and kicked the little stone away and took her hand.

Their fingers interlocked with each other. That was how he usually held her. Emily tried pulling gently, but he locked his fingers more firmly around hers, and through the corners of her eyes, she spied Addy filling with envy.

The private room was on the third floor. It was the second room right after the elevator.

Everyone aside from Simon had arrived. Five to six of them were sitting around a table, chatting with each other and their arrival made every head in the room panned their way.

A man in a suit, dressed like an elite of the finance world, stood up and joked, "The great Dr. Chin has arrived. We've been expecting you and finally, Addy remains the only one who can make you come!" "Come on, I've only been late for five minutes. Put the tab on me!" Simon curled his lips lazily.

"That's what you're expected to do, Master Simon!" teased the man in suit and everyone echoed his guffaws.

They quickly noticed Emily beside her and Addy came to her rescue as their curious gazes trained in on her, "This is Emily. Emily Sam!"

Unflustered, Emily smiled at everyone and said, "Hi, I'm-"

"My wife!" Simon's voice drowned out hers.

Emily was stunned. She didn't expect him to announce their relationship in such a simple and straightforward way. But she wondered if she had been overly sensitive; silence pervaded the room right after Simon's announcement and the atmosphere, if not everyone's expression, felt stiff and awkward.

But Addy quickly took the initiative to change the subject. She said to the man in a suit and tie, "I've missed northern dishes so much, Brock! I've starving! Call the waiter!"

As the waiters scurried back and forth to serve the dishes, the party slowly paced into a pleasant and warm gathering.

Except for Emily. She peered around and realized that no one had brought any family around except for Simon. That made her felt like a bull in a china shop, especially when everyone could talk about their lives during and after school and she could hardly share a word with anyone.

But the man sitting next to her, a mild-mannered bespectacled man smiled at her. "What do you do, Mrs. Chin?"

He was the only one who had ever tried to speak to her and for that, she felt very thankful.

Emily was about to answer when Simon's deep voice cut her off, "A full-time housewife who stays home rearing children."

"..." She balled her fists and put up a smile while she shot him a glare, "Stop talking nonsense!? What children?!"

"Soon! It'll not be long," Simon insisted, not forgetting to shot a glare at the bespectacled man.

The man pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and silently turned the other side to talk to others.

Then someone steered the topic to Addy. "Addy's famous now! One of my colleagues knew that I have tickets to Addy's performance and she even offered to buy them from me at a great price! They say it's hard to get tickets for her show!"

"You're exaggerating! If you have friends who want to watch our performance, I can ask for some arrangement!" Addy smiled sweetly.

"You're being modest, Addy!" Brock, who was sitting next to her, said, "Everyone knows that you've practiced ballet since you were a child. You were the prima donna even in college and even professional groups often invited you to their performances. And look at you now, one of the best dancers of Newley City's Big Three ballet companies and the best prima donna!"

"But I won't be with them any longer," Addy said suddenly.

"Huh?" Brock was stunned.

"I've already submitted my resignation when I came back!" Addy shrugged her shoulders and explained, "I'll be leaving after the performances at Ice City."

"But why? It's a once in a life time chance to be able to gain entry into a ballet company as prestigious and famous as yours!" Brock and the others looked perplexed and puzzled.

Addy took a sip from her glass of red wine and smiled gently. "Because I suddenly realized that even if I have a brilliant career, I don't have anyone who can share with me. Life is meaningless that way. So I came back this time, hoping to find the most important thing for me!"

She was answering Brock, but her eyes never wavered from Simon next to him.

The most important thing...

Emily felt her fingers tightened around her spoon.

"You should propose a toast for Addy, Simon!" Broke thumped the table suddenly and he sprang to his feet, "Do you still remember when we were at Newly City, there was this group of thugs at Queens who targeted rich people. One day, they drugged and kidnapped you. It was Addy who reported to the cops in spite of her danger and got you saved. You might have been killed that night. Later on, those thugs even came back for Addy and she was hospitalized for nearly a month!"

The edges of Simon's lips twitched with irritation, "Of course. I won't forget about that."

Brock looked as if he was drunk; his footsteps swayed under his weight and he stepped past Addy to come to his chair. Trying to defend Addy, he insisted, "Did you forget the vow you made? The vow that you went to a temple and made to a monk? You said that you would marry no one else but Addy Swan!"

Clatter!

Emily's spoon fell out of her hand and dropped on her plate as she suppressed a muffled gasp.
