Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 724
At first, Emily thought that walking Addy to the door and saying goodbye to her would be enough.
But Addy broke the silence and suddenly said, "Emily, your ring is so beautiful!"
Hearing this, Emily also lowered her head and looked at the ring finger on her right hand on which the silver ring firmly wrapped. "Simon gave it to you, right?" Addy said, raising her eyebrows.
Addy already knew the answer. When they had the hot pot that night, she already saw the two of them wearing matched silver rings.
When Addy and Simon studied abroad, they often went to some roadside stalls on weekends. There were many times that Addy bought matched accessories. But Simon always refused to wear, reckoning that it was too childish...
"Yes." Emily nodded with her lips pursed. At this moment, she suddenly felt an impulse to defend something. After a pause, she emphasized, "He said it's a wedding ring!"
When Simon put the ring on her finger in Sagria City, he vowed, "I will take you as my wife till death do us apart." And the ring was the wedding ring representing their marriage.
Emily's fingers were pressing her ring tightly as if she was trying to gain strength from it.
Staring at the silver ring, Addy asked, "When did it happen?"
"..." Emily was confused, not knowing what she was asking.
Addy pulled back her hair at her ear and explained, "I mean, when did you two get married ?"
"We have been married for more than three years," Emily replied honestly.
Addy nodded and didn't say anything more. When she walked to the door, she said with envy and jealousy, "I have thought of many possibilities. But Simon getting married was the last thing I thought of. Emily, you are lucky!"
"Am I lucky?"
When Emily lowered her head and looked at the ring again, she felt a sense of warmth welling up in her heart.
Looking at Emily's happy face, Addy felt prickly. She couldn't help but deliberately ask, "By the way, did Simon tell you? Tonight, we will have a classmate gathering. The classmates who would go were the ones that also went to study at Columbya University. They organized the gathering after they knew that I came back. Since we haven't seen each other for many years, we will have a lot to catch up with!" "Oh, is that so?" Emily was stunned.
Addy waved at her with a smile, "Then I'll go first. See you, Emily!"
"See you!" Emily nodded.
Watching Addy took the taxi and left, Emily wrapped her coat and went back to the sanatorium. When she went upstairs again, she saw grandma sitting there waiting for her, "Did Addy leave?" "Yes, she took the taxi!" Emily said, nodding.
Grandma beckoned to her and said, "Emily, come here!"
"Well, what's the matter, grandma?" Emily rubbed her hands to warm up. She did not want to bring coldness to grandma.
Grandma didn't mind at all. She pulled Emily to sit next to her again and said, "Emily, if you also want to eat the beef noodles I make, I'll ask Simon to buy ingredients from the supermarket tomorrow, and then I'll make it for you!"
Seeing that grandma was looking concerned and worrying that her talking with Addy would make her unhappy, Emily felt warm and shook her head with a smile, "Grandma, it's okay. I should be the one who makes it for you!"
Although grandma was recovering well, she was already over 60 years old. Usually, she needed a nurse to take care of her. Emily would never want to trouble her to make noodles!
Grandma looked at Emily carefully. After she made sure that Emily was feeling alright, she heaved a sigh of relief. Then she patted on Emily's hand lovingly and said, "What happened in the past stays in the past. What matters is now!"
After staying with grandma for the afternoon, Emily returned to her apartment by the riverside.
As the sun was setting, half of the sky looked red. The view of this building was good. Standing in front of the French window in the living room, Emily could see the beautiful scenery on the riverside, especially at sunset, which was extraordinarily beautiful.
Emily held her shoulders and watched it for a long time. When the last trace of the sunset glow disappeared, she turned around.
Looking at the hallway and thinking of what Addy had said when leaving today, she pursed her lips for a while and then made her way straight to the dining room. She took out a box of instant noodles from the cabinet and poured boiled water in it.
Bitting the fork, Emily lay prone on the table, waiting.
Staring at the time on the wall, she was not thinking about the instant noodles but Simon. "He should get off work now. Without having to do surgeries today, he should get off earlier than usual. Maybe now he is driving with Addy on the way to the gathering..."
Emily shook her head. When she looked at the time again, she found that ten minutes had passed.
She cried softly, quickly sat up, and picked up the softened noodles.
Just as she was about to eat it, she suddenly heard that the sound of the door being opened.
Looking at Simon, who was walking in with the keys in his hand, Emily blinked and swallowed the noodles in her mouth. She looked surprised with a shocked face and pointed at him with the fork in her hand, "Simon, why did you come back? Didn't you go to the class reunion?"
"How did you know that I need to go to the class reunion?" Simon raised his eyebrows and asked with a faint smile.
Emily bit her lips and shrugged, "I went to visit grandma today. Addy was there too. She told me...
Hearing this, Simon's eyebrows slightly twisted, and then he strode forward and took away the box of instant noodles in her hand. "Didn't you had enough? Stop eating!"
"Hey!" Seeing him throw the instant noodles straight into the trash can, Emily glared at him, waving the fork in her hand, "What are you doing? I only have one bite! What a waste!"
Simon grabbed the fork away from her hand, also threw it into the trash can, and took out a piece of tissue to wipe the soup from the corner of her mouth, "Instant noodles are not good. I will take you to free meals!"
"You're taking me to the gathering?" Emily was stunned.
"Yeah." Simon took her hand and walked straight to the door.
Twenty minutes later, the black Cayenne reached a Chinese-style restaurant. There were rows of cars parked outside. It seemed the restaurant was quite busy today. They spent quite a while finding a place to park.
After the black Cayenne stopped, Emily unfastened her seat belt and looked at him with hesitation, "Simon, will Addy be unhappy with you bringing me here like this?"
"Why do you care so much about her thoughts?" Simon glanced at her.
Emily bit her lips,
She didn't want to care about it, but she was afraid that Simon would mind.
As they were talking, the sound of high heels came from outside the car. It was Addy rushing out of the restaurant to welcome Simon when she saw his car. Feeling excited, she ran so fast that her long hair was flying with the wind. With her face full of smiles, she said, "Simon, you are here!"
When she saw Emily, she paused for a while and said in a low voice, "Emily also come..."
