Purchased A Mr. Right
Chapter 741

"Okay!" Addy put the cake at her feet.

They had been apart for four years. There were indeed many things that they needed to talk to each other properly.

As the space inside the car was limited, sitting in the co-pilot seat, Addy was close to Simon. Smelling Simon along with the smell of cigarettes, Addy felt so excited that her heartbeat was fast.

It had been a long time since the last time they were so close to each other. A lot of memories flooded over...

Addy's cheeks were slightly red. She tentatively reached out and tried to hold him as she did before in the office so she could feel the lines and the temperature in his palm. However, at the moment when her fingertip was about to touch him, Simon avoided it.

"Simon!"

Addy was stunned, looking at him with her eyes full of affection, and said, "Are you still angry with me? It was indeed my fault not going back here with you. Simon. How can you forgive me? But even so, I know that you always love me in your heart, right?"

"Addy, I thought that I had made myself very clear the last time," Simon frowned and said.

"No, stop lying to me," Addy shook her head and said with a smile, "Your marriage with Emily was only an agreement, right? I was very desperate at the beginning. I wanted Emily gone! And I would do everything to have you back by my side! But now I know I was wrong. I don't have to do or try anything. You've always been mine!"

"I don't know why Emily and you have the marriage agreement. But it doesn't matter whether you tell me or not. I am already happy to know that you have been waiting for me to come back over the four years!"

Simon frowned deeply and said in a low voice, "Addy, it seems that there is more than one misunderstanding you are having."

"Misunderstanding?" Addy asked in confusion.

"Sorry, I did forget your birthday today," Simon said in a low and slow voice, "The reason why I came back early from the trip was that I wanted to surprise Emily. It's not because of you!"

When he heard Addy bring up the marriage agreement again, he was still surprised, wondering how she knew it. After all, other than Emily, himself, and the lawyer who had drafted the agreement, no one else knew about it.

Could it be that Emily was the one who told Addy about it?

Simon's eyes narrowed slightly. He paused and said firmly as he did, "As for our marriage, it is indeed on an agreement. But I did not do it because of you!"

"What did you say?" Addy asked in great shock.

Simon didn't avoid her eyes. He sighed and said with a pitiful voice, "Addy, it's over. It was over four years ago!"

"Simon, please forgive me? I am very sorry. During the four years I spent alone in Newley City, I missed you a lot and cried a lot! Simon, think about the good time we had in the past. We studied together in high school, went to the library to review our lessons, and went abroad to study together. We almost walked through every street of Newley City. I miss the times you took me out on weekends to watch the shooting stars. We knew each other when we were fifteen. We promised we would never be apart..."

Addy's voice was choked with sobs. Simon was moved. He couldn't help but think of those high-spirited years of youth and the vows they made when they were young.

But it was only for a moment. When Emily's figure flashed through his mind, Simon turned cold again.

He said with his voice deep and calm, "Addy, what we had in the past was beautiful. But we cannot reverse time! When you chose to stay in Newley City, everything between us was destined to be over. We did not promise to wait for each other. And I have already moved on!"

Addy looked desperate, shook her head violently, and shouted stubbornly, "No, you are lying!"

"You are saying these things deliberately because you were still angry with me and refused to forgive me! If you don't love me in your heart, and if your marriage agreement was not because of me, then why do you still have our picture with you now?"

Simon was stunned, "Picture? What picture?"

"The picture in your wallet!" Addy said with tears in her eyes, "When you returned from Newley City four years ago, I put our photo in the interlayer of your wallet. I also wrote a word on the back. You have been carrying it with you for four years. Can't it explain that you still love me?"

Simon looked shocked.

He took out his wallet from his trouser pocket. He had used it for many years. When he was studying abroad, Adam bought it for him. He had never bought a new one because he was used to it. Usually, he did not take cash with him. Most of the cards he had were gifts given by his brothers on his birthdays. Except for the black card for Emily, he didn't even know how many cards he had.

He looked into each interlayer carefully. As expected, a picture was found in the innermost layer.

Simon was stunned. He didn't know that there was such a picture in his wallet. If what Addy just said was true, when he came back from Newley City, it had already been there...

When he saw the English line on the back of the picture, he frowned seriously.

Simon held a corner of the picture between his fingers, pulled out the lighter, and said, "Addy, I did not know anything about the picture!"

"Don't!"

Addy shouted out.

She wanted to move over to stop Simon, but it was already too late. Simon already lit the picture. The young Simon and Addy in the picture disappeared along with the fiery light, only leaving behind ashes flowing outside the car window.

Addy fell on the co-pilot seat feebly, looking at Simon with a sad face.

Now she had to face the reality...

Her hope completely disappeared along with the burning picture, leaving only her tears falling. She said, "Simon, how can you be so cruel! How can you be so cruel!"

A trace of pity flashed in Simon's eyes. Although he felt sorry, he still said in a cold tone, "Addy, I hope you can face it with peace. If you can't do it, you'd better go back to Newley City!"

Addy felt devastated and could not stop crying. She said, sobbing, "Simon, don't treat me like this. I can't live without you!"

"I'm a doctor. I don't think killing yourself respects life!" Simon's eyes were indifferent. "Besides, you have lived well without me in the past four years!"

Addy's eyes were full of tears. She watched Simon unfasten the seat belt, get out of the car, and walk to her side. He opened the car and placed one of his arms on it, "I'm sorry, Addy. I can't celebrate your birthday with you. I'm going home."
