Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 751
It was not the evening rush hour. Thus, half an hour later, Emily arrived at the Huaseen Law Firm.
She looked up at the office building in front of her, took a deep breath, and went in.
According to the tablets in the building, Emily found the office with ease. Upon arrival, after she told the receptionist that she was looking for Anson Price, the receptionist took her to the largest office. A man in a suit and leather shoes was sitting before the desk. He was just like the lawyer as she had expected.
After knocking on the door, she entered and went straight to the point. "Hello, Mr. Price. I'm Emily!"
After knocking on the door, she entered and went straight to the point. "Hello, Mr. Price. I'm Emily Sam!"
He got up and made her a cup of tea. As he handed it to her, he said with a smile, "Miss. Sam, although you don't know me, I know you well."
"Huh?" Emily was taken aback.
Mr. Price sat back in his chair and explained, "I drafted the marriage agreement of you and Mr. Chin!"
Emily clenched her fists and did not touch the teacup. Instead, she asked, "What do you mean by saying that on the phone?"
Mr. Price took out a document from the drawer and handed it to her. "Miss Sam, two days ago, Mr. Chin already transferred the apartment that you are living in to you. Please sign this gift agreement!" After listening to his words, Emily looked a little stunned.
Simon...
Mr. Price took away the cap of a pen nearby and said, "If you don't have any questions, you can sign on it now!"
"Mr. Price, but I don't want the apartment!" Emily said, biting the corner of her lips.
"Miss Sam, I'm afraid it will be a little difficult to refuse it," Mr. Price said.
"What do you mean?" Emily looked confused.
The lawyer sat up straight, kept his calm countenance, and coaxed, "This house has undergone the property notarization, proving that it was a gratuitous gift to you from Mr. Chin, your husband. Meanwhile, the Real Estate Bureau has filed on the record for reference. According to the 'Regulations on the Administration of Urban Private Houses' and the 128th rule of 'General Principles of Civil Law' of our country, Young Master Chin has already transferred the ownership of this apartment to you. In other words, you can't refuse to accept this apartment. I ask you to sign this document just as a mere procedure... The apartment is already yours!"
As soon as Emily left the office, Mr. Price called Simon.
Looking at the agreement on the table that Emily had just signed, he said with a smile, "Mr. Chin, everything has been dealt with according to your instructions. I did not give Miss Sam any chance to refuse this apartment. She has already signed the apartment and accepted it!"
"Um!" Simon replied.
Mr. Price had been his private lawyer for many years and would help him deal with many things, so he knew a lot about Simon's life and couldn't help asking, "Mr. Chin, are you sure you only want me to transfer the apartment to her?"
"What else should I do?" Simon asked lazily.
Mr. Price continued, "At the beginning, your grandma was very sick. To comfort her, you asked me to make a four-year marriage agreement between you and her. But then, didn't your grandma's doctor in charge say that she might live four more years after the operation? Since your grandma is still alive, do you not need me to extend the contract?"
Simon suddenly fell into silence. Then, it sounded as if he opened a cigarette lighter and lit a cigarette. After a long while, there came two words through the line, "No need."
Then, he hanged up the phone. Mr. Price stared blankly at the phone for a moment and then continued to work.
The stars were twinkling in the night sky, and numberous neon lights lighted up the city.
Emily walked out of the subway entrance and looked at the private hospital in front of her. She didn't know how she ended up here.
She knew that Simon was still in the hospital at this time. If she went in, she could find him at once. Although they had divorced and became strangers from then on, she could still remember his duty schedule clearly.
Emily walked into the hospital building and came out of the elevator. As usual, the nurses on duty in the nurse's station would take the initiative to say hello to her with a smile. "Hello, Mrs. Chin!"
Emily looked at the noticeboard and knew that Simon was not operating at this time. "Is he in the office or the duty room?"
"Neither!" The nurse smiled, kindly pointed forward, and said, "Dr. Chin has just gone to visit a patient. Go ahead and turn left. He's in the No. 3 VIP room!"
"Okay, thank you!" Emily nodded.
When she had gone far, another nurse, who was picking up medicines for patients, immediately came over. "Oh! Do you want to watch the fun when Mrs. Chin meets the patient living in No. 3 VIP ward? Don't you know the patient's relationship with Mr. Chin?!"
"Ah, I forgot it! What should I do?" The nurse suddenly came to her senses and patted her head, annoyed.
When she looked up, she knew it was too late to stop Emily, who had already turned left at the end of the corridor.
After walking past two VIP wards, she found the No. 3 ward that the female nurse had told her. At first, she wanted to wait for him outside, but the ward's door was left open.
Unlike ordinary wards, VIP wards were equipped with many superior facilities.
She had once jumped into a lake to look for her necklace and drowned. Then, she was sent to such a ward. At that time, Simon was supposed to be on a business trip outside of the city. However, when she woke up, she found that he was standing in front of her bed, looking at her. All of this happened a long time ago...
She felt a little dazed and could not move a step further.
In the ward, Simon sat with his back to the door. Emily could see his tall figure and Addy, who was lying on the bed. She did not know what they were talking about but could see both of them were smiling. Addy lifted the quilt - it seemed that she wanted to get out of bed, but her movements were a little slow. Simon, who was next to her, immediately came forward to help her. They were so close to each other, and his arm was on her waist.
Seeing such a scene, Emily felt as if something was scratching her heart, and her heart began to bleed with pain.
Emily tried hard to stop her eyebrows from throbbing. She took two steps back and pressed herself against the wall.
Well, it seemed that Addy was ill, and he should be very worried. Sure enough, she was a beauty. Even when she was in a hospital gown and had a pale face, she still looked very charming. Emily thought that with such a beauty here, he would enjoy working a lot!
Ten minutes later, Emily lowered her head and walked to the door of Simon's expert office.
"Mrs. Chin!"
Emily looked up slowly. It was the nurse who had greeted her at the nurse's station.
She forced a smile and said awkwardly, "Well... I'd better wait for him in the office. When he comes back after finishing his job, please tell him that where I am!"
The nurse said, full of apologies, "Mrs. Chin, I'm sorry, but I didn't mean to..."
Emily shook her head, suppressed the bitterness in her heart, and said softly and firmly, "We are divorced, so it's not appropriate to call me Mrs. Chin. Please call me Miss Sam!"
It was all that Simon heard when he rushed over from behind.
