Purchased A Mr. Right -
Chapter 752
In shock, the nurse looked at her and then turned to look at Simon, wearing a frosty look. She did not dare to say anything and just nodded slightly before running away from them quickly. Simon strode here as fast as he could. Thus, when he stopped, his chest heaved slightly.
He had just finished making patient rounds, and Addy's ward was the last one. As he walked out of there and walked past the nurse station, a nurse told him that Emily had come to see him. It made him think about that many times when he was on duty, she would come to accompany him.
All of a sudden, his heart bloomed with joy. However, it sank when he heard the latter part of her words.
Sensing that a familiar look was on her, Emily subconsciously turned around and caught his eyes.
Simon, his hands in the pockets of the white coat, was looking at her with complex emotions. He said with a light smile, "Why are you standing at the door? Go into my office first!"
Then, he brushed past her, so Emily hurriedly followed behind.
Simon pushed the door open, and they all entered. All of a sudden, Simon closed the door and locked it up with a click-clack! Emily immediately turned around and asked with a frown, "Simon, why did you close the door?" "So what?" Simon raised her eyebrows a little.
Emily bit her lips. "It's late at night. There's only the two of us in the office. It's inappropriate!"
In previous, she often went in and out of this office and was familiar with everything in it. A lot of romantic scenes of them in this office flashed past her mind. Now she was with him, late at night in one room... "Why?" Simon asked her instead with great confidence. He looked down at her face and said, "But we did not do anything inappropriate!"
Emily was nearly choked by his words.
He was always good at stirring up her loving feelings...
Emily quickly cast down her eyes to hide the surging emotions in her eyes. Then, she stepped forward and pulled out a chair to sit down.
Simon walked to the water dispenser and asked, "What do you like to drink?"
"No, thanks." Emily shook her head, composed herself, and said, "I'm here to talk to you about the apartment! I went to the Huaseen Law Firm in the evening, and Mr. Price, the lawyer, told me that you have transferred it to me!"
"Yep," Simon walked up to her and sat on the table with one leg swinging in the air.
His leather shoes were near her knees and could touch her from time to time as he shook his long legs gently. Although Emily was wearing jeans, her skin itched whenever his feet touched her. Emily could not help pushing her chair back by her feel. She then looked up and said, "Why would you do that? When we got divorced, I said it clearly that I would not take a penny from you!" "But it is an apartment." Simon did not answer her question directly.
"What?" Emily frowned.
Simon's peach blossom eyes narrowed as he gazed into the depths of her eyes and said, "Emily, when we moved into it, I told you that it was our marital home!"
"Well..." Emily swallowed hard.
She remembered something more-he also said it was their home...
Emily's fingers tightened on her knees, and she sat up straight. "Simon, I don't want the apartment. When are you free? Let's transfer it back to you. After all, it's not my home anymore!"
"Oh, you're so eager to disentangle yourself from our past!" Simon sneered.
Emily pursed her lips and thought of something, but she did not argue further.
Simon jumped off the table, his long shadow falling on her. "If you refuse to admit this relationship, you can take this apartment as compensation for your loss. After all, you have slept with me for four years, haven't you?"
"No..." Emily said through gritted teeth.
"It's yours now. Since I can transfer it to you, I will not give you any chance to return it!" Simon interrupted her and muttered, "Take it, and I'll feel relieved!"
Emily was speechless.
His gentle words touched her. Besides, there were lots of great memories between him and her in that apartment. She was a little unwilling to move out from it. Perhaps, because their home did not matter at al to him, he'd like to give it away. Thinking of this,
Emily nodded and said, "Okay, I'll take it. Thank you!"
"You're welcome!" Simon replied.
"Our home..." Emily realized that she said something wrong and quickly corrected herself. "Many of your things are in the apartment. I'll help you sort them out. When you have time, you can come and take them away!"
Simon frowned. "Leave them there. We'll talk about it later!"
Emily nodded and stood up from her chair. "Then go on with your work. I'll go back now!"
"Do you want me to drive you home?" Simon stared at her and asked, a little nervously.
"No need. You are still on duty. It's very convenient for me to take a taxi back!" Emily shook her head. He was still on duty, not to mention that a beautiful woman was still waiting for him in the ward. Thus, she thought he came up with this offer only out of politeness.
Emily carried her bag and walked straight to the office's door.
"Emily!"
Just as she stepped out of the door, he called her suddenly.
Emily stopped there but didn't look back.
Then, there came his sad voice. "We've been married for four years, but you never called me sweetheart."
He had once tried twice to coax her into calling him her sweetheart.
But Emily was too shy to call him in such an intimate way...
His request stung her, and she fled as quickly as she could.
It was the first weekend after her divorce. The time fairly raced by. She muddled through this lonely period. Nevertheless, there was something happy: Wendy, her best friend who had stayed abroad, would come back from Country D.
Because of her work, Wendy would stay in Ice city for a month. They were very close to each other, so Emily would not let her live in a hotel. So, she would try her best to invite Wendy to live with her. When living with her best friend, Emily felt the apartment much less spacious and desolate.
She did not get a chance to rest on Sunday and was forced to go shopping with her cousin Selena. In the evening, after they finished their dinner at a restaurant and were about to leave, Selena suddenly said that she had a stomachache. She threw all the shopping bags into her arms and hurried to find the bathroom.
Emily had no choice but to stay there and wait. The sky was getting dark. From time to time, customers would come in from the revolving door.
When she saw two familiar figures walking in shoulder to shoulder, it was too late for her to turn away.
Addy was wearing a creamy- white coat, which matched well with Simon's dark gray dress. When such an outstanding couple walked together, they grabbed everyone's attention. From those passers-by's eyes, Emily could tell that they all thought Simon and Addy were a perfect match.
Compared with her pale appearance in the ward, Addy looked much better.
She was about two to three hundred meters away from them and saw Addy spot her. Then, Addy turned to Simon and said, "Simon, I seem to have seen Miss Sam!"
"Yes, I saw her." A delighted glint flashed in his eyes.
