Chapter 58: Moving Forward

KYLE'S

POV

"What just happened?" I asked myself shaking my head and walking away.

I really need to talk to Lyra, I don't like the fact that she is ignoring me but for now I need to visit him and give him a piece of my mind.

"You need to stop sending Kiera to me if not Lyra will find out," I said to him.

"What makes you think I care if she finds out. She will find out soon either way. She will find out who runs things around here and the funny part of it all is that, we have history. It will be fun," he smiled in a psychotic manner. "What do you mean you two have history father?" I asked feeling like things are going to go down bad.

"You don't need to bother yourself with that son. What I need you to do is to find out the source of her powers. Then we can kill her, she caused me pain and she deserves to die after going through the exact same thing I felt," he said his eyes filled with resentment.

"What did she do?" I asked confused.

"That is none of your business son. It has nothing to do with you," he said shutting me up and gave me a look that said we are done with our conversation.

I did not achieve anything I came here to see if there is any way Kiera could meet me somewhere else and he just ignored me. I will talk to Kiera if we can resolve the issue ourselves.

"Hi Kiera," I smiled at her.

"Hey," She said flirtatiously batting her lashes at me, making me feel disgusted and instantly my thoughts went back to Lyra.

If it was Lyra, she would not do something like this and I would be attracted to her either way.

What? When did I start viewing Lyra as attractive. Anyways that is not the reason I am here.

"Can we meet up somewhere else instead of the Havern? I don't think it's appropriate and we are trying to keep it a secret aren't we?" I said to Kiera who nodded and moved closer to me still flirting. "Okay then, thank you." I said quickly as I moved away from her.

"I need to resolve whatever issue I have with Lyra and soon I will have to explain all of this to her. I just hope when I have to explain all of this to her, I have the courage to do so," I muttered to myself as I walked back to the havern allowing my thoughts to sink in.

LYRA'S POV

I needed to talk to Kyle, I need to understand these feeling I am developing for him. Why can't I stop thinking about that night? Why can't I stop thinking about him? Have I ever looked at him in any sensual light before? These questions plagued my head.

I will need to talk to him and get all my thoughts settled. I resolved as I went to bed that evening.

I woke up with a mission this morning and that is to talk to Kyle concerning whatever is going on between us.

I walked to the training grounds and I instantly spotted Kyle. I walked towards him.

"Kyle," I called out to him.

"Lyra," he said my name as he walked towards me.

The way he said my name made me feel feverish, hasn't he always called my name? so what is different this time? I wondered.

"I need to talk to you," We said at the same time as we reached each other.

I looked up at him and we burst into laughter.

"Okay, let's go. I need to talk to you anyway," I smiled as I lead him inside the house.

We went to the study room and we stayed there. I mentally reminded myself to put a distance between us.

"I wanted to say that..." We both started, then looked at each other again.

"Actually, you go first," Kyle said to me.

"Okay, I wanted to say that I am sorry if I have made you feel like I avoided you. It was not intentional. I did not even know why I did it and I am very sorry anyway," I looked up at him to see he has moved towards me. "Do you don't know why you avoided me or you don't want to acknowledge the reason why you avoided me?" He asked.

"I..Uh.. What do you mean by that?" I asked feeling slightly offended.

"I mean, you stopped talking to me after you saw me speaking to my friend. Were you jealous Lyra?" he teased me smirking.

"Shut up, what are you talking about. Why will I be jealous?" I asked him with a scowl on my face.

"I don't know, you tell me?" he laughed.

"None of this is funny Kyle. I thought you really wanted to talk but looks like everything is a joke to you," I said as I walked towards the exit and Kyle grabbed my wrist sending a jolt of electricity to go down my spine as my insides warmed. "I'm sorry it wasn't a joke to me, I was just teasing you," Kyle apologized moving the little strand of hair that fell on my face, then his hand caressed my face making me to feel a shiver down my spine.

"K.. Ky.. Kyle what are you doing," I said my voice barely above a whisper.

He pulled me closer to him and stared at my lips then back to my eyes and my heart started beating faster.

He held my hand and I felt a spark that almost made me cry out in pleasure.

"Did you feel that?" Kyle asked me.

"N..No, I don't feel anything." I lied as I moved backward.

Kyle held my wrist again and I was force to remove my hand swiftly because I felt the jolt of electricity again.

"Are you sure you don't feel anything Lyra?" Kyle asked.

"No, Kyle. I don't feel..."

Kyle kissed me.
