I was snapped out of my daydream by loud sounds of fighting. The fight from the opening had somehow made its way down here. Wolves and panthers ran everywhere between the houses. ” What are they doing down here ? ” I snapped at no one in particular. I watched in horror and absolute misery as some of my men , my brothers who I had trained with my whole life, fell. And I was hopeless. ” Something must have happened. Enzo wouldn’t have let them down here “, the former Luna said behind me. I caught sight of a wolf I knew well. ” Gregor ” I shouted. The wolf had just put down a panther. He looked my way and I motioned him to me. He shifted as he got to the border of the protection spell. ” Devon, what are you doing in there ? “he asked , out of breath.

I shook my head. “Don’t ask , I am not pleased by it. What has happened? Why are you all down here ? ” he looked back up towards the opening. ” The dragons took their fight to the floor , and that b***h got hold of the luna. The alpha ordered us away. They told us to move the fight to the river , but the panthers broke off down here. We tried to steer them away but they didn’t have any of it. ” I nodded and looked at the c*****e behind him. We had lots of people behind protection spells down here, but still , a fight down here could cause damage to everything.

” Get everyone to move to behind this house , at least it backs into the woods. Keep them away from the schools and other things down here. It looks like they are compelled to fight. So they should follow. Unless ” I watch as panthers barged into empty houses down here. “Unless when they got moved down here , she changed their task ” I muttered to myself. Gregor looked behind him , over his shoulder. ” Only a few fight now ” he said, sounding confused. He was right. Wolves were now chasing them into the houses.

” They are being made to cause damage now. Circle the houses to keep them out . It is either they have been ordered to do damage or look for the vulnerable “, I told him. He nodded his head and took off. Passing the message around. I tried to link Enzo , but I was getting nothing back. I looked at the former Luna. ” Can you link with your mate ? I saw Gregor run back past about five minutes later and shouted at him to come back over , ” Tell him where he is ? “I said to the luna. She looked torn , but the love for her mate won out. ” He is in the forest near the opening. They dragged him away from the fight. He is on the far north border propped up against a tree. Please hurry , if another one of those things comes across him, I fear he will not be able to fight. ” She ended up pleading ” Go , get a few more men and go retrieve our former Alpha. Take him down to the cells. They are locked and there is a doctor and a few nurses down there. We didn’t have enough room in the houses the girls had spelled. Many of the patients that were in the pack hospital were moved to the set-up. They had already down their from the warlock women . Make sure none of these things get down there with you. Then all we could do was stand and watch. It went on for atleast another ten to fifteen minutes , who knows how long I wasn’t exactly keeping track. It felt like a lifetime anyway. Then, all of a sudden, all of the panthers just stopped. The wolves that were attacking stopped also in confusion. “What’s happening ? ” the Luna said. Her hand tightened on mine where she hadn’t let go. I hadn’t minded it was obviously bringing her some comfort.

” I’m not sure ” I said. One of the panthers swapped back. A young male his hands up insurrender as he looked around in fear. ” What is happening ? What are we all doing here ? ” he asked us. Like we were the frightful ones. ” WHO ARE YOU ? ” I shouted. The young male looked at me. ” Issac ” he said. ” Issac , what do you remember last ? “I asked him. He looked at me in confusion , his brows creased and his forehead scrunched up in confusion. ” Going to bed , back in our pride land ” he said, looking around. More and more panthers were changing back and they all had the same look of confusion.

I don’t think this male was anywhere near their pride alpha ranking status , but he was the only one of them that was talking as of now.

I mean I don’t understand ” he said , as he looked around horrified. ” Issac , where or who is your prides leader ? “I asked him. ” He is dead “someone shouted from the back. ” He was killed by a large black and tan wolf back up there. He was screaming at us all not to attack, but none of us could help it, neither could he. None of us wanted to do any of this “, the male saying came forward. He patted Issac on the shoulder as he passed and came closer to us.

” I am Usif , the brother of our prides leader. Next in line to take over. I apologize for all of this ” he said, sounding mournful. He was trying to be strong for his pride , but his brother and a lot of his people had just died. ” I am Devon , beta to this pack. And I am currently stuck behind a magical protection spell , so apologies I can not come and shake your hand. This is none of your fault or ours , just the doings of a mad woman. Our alpha will be here soon. I imagine ” I smiled at him. ” And this is our former Luna ” he nods his head at her.

” What do you mean by magical protection ? ” he says, looking confused. I shake my head and let out a laugh and rub the back of my neck ” Don’t ask the reason why I am stuck behind here. But a few of the magic uses of our pack placed certain houses under protection. A good job too , your lot was barging into the houses. Why was that ? “I asked him. Violet didn’t look at me guilty or anything. She was definitely unapologetic for leaving me here.

The thing is, I just wanted to be close to her. Now I knew she was dead, I needed to know if this was all real. The only way to do that is to get out from behind here.
