” Beta Devon “, Al bowed his head as I walked in. ” Sorry to disturb you at such a late hour but we thought you would want to see this, ” he pointed at the screens that were in front of him. ” It is no issue , I have been kicked out of the bed with my mate tonight ” I said trying not to sound like a sulking child. I knew it was selfish to feel put out , Penny had nearly freaked at the thought of being left alone tonight. Violet had looked at me pleadingly , and I knew what she had wanted to ask without asking. If I would mind. I didn’t really , I knew she wanted to be there for her cousin. But it would mean a very unsettled night for me. Being here and being busy was most probably a good thing. It would keep me pacing outside of their bedroom door like Ryken was currently doing.

He moved over on the chair so that I could sit down , then leaning over he played a clip. It was inside of the tent we had found Penny. ” This was taken fifteen minutes after you had left “. He told me ” There is another clip after this one too “. He pressed play , I watched as a tall man with the same color hair strode into the tent.

He looked around the tent spinning ” Penance ” he shouted. He bent down and picked up the chain that Ryken had snapped. ” Gagora ” he shouted, and in came running, another man. ” Penance has escaped. Get everyone to search for that b***h “. The man went running back out and the man I was guessing was her brother, kept looking around the tent. His face was furious.

“That’s them finding out she is missing and then an hour later there is this clip ” he clicked a few buttons and it was in the big tent that I had dared to go into. ” How can she just go missing , she is just a fly. She could not have broken that chain “, who I guessed was her brother, said. A tall man with thin blonde hair spoke next. ” Who was left here when we all went? They had to have helped her ” he sneered. An older women with long black hair that had streaks of gray throughout spoke next ” No one here would help a non-believer , they all no better. This has to do with Violet and Rion ” she insisted.

And an older man with gray hair and normal eyes spoke. ” Wallace is right. Maybe we should start with those that stayed behind , see if they saw anything “. The tall blonde with thin hair nodded. And my eyes zeroed in on him. So , this was the one that was meant to be betrothed to my mate. ” Do not be stupid. If they saw something they would have told us within the last hour they had been searching for her. You saw the spell tonight. We all sensed Violet , she was alive and this had to do with her. I do not know why we are even worrying about that girl , she is nothing. A hindrance we should have gotten rid of years ago ” she aimed it at the red-haired guy.

” Forget about your experiment with your sister , you failed to break her. She is gone , we have bigger things to concentrate on now besides looking for her. ” The red-haired guy crossed his arms over his chest, seeming less than happy about it. But he begrudgingly nodded. ” We know that Violet is alive , all of our tests to make us into what we need to be have failed with just Wallace to draw on. We need her , we know she is alive now. So now we have found her. Tomorrow we go back to the magic site and we find her location. Bring some sacrifices Sinner ” she aims at the red haired man.

He nods and leaves the tent. Leaving just the three there. ” Wallace, we need your parents and their coven to come back here. We need more witches ” she told him and he shook his head. ” They will not come back , you know that. They hate that I am staying here. They believe your plan has now become outdated and that we will not succeed. They now seek other goals that are not ours. They don’t understand why I am staying , but I was promised Violet. That is what I stay for and you both know this. Your ancient beliefs are no longer a goal of mine either. I stay because you always told me Violet is not dead. I was losing belief in that. Now we know she is alive, our deal is to stay in place. I will help you, create you into these things you wish to become , but then I take Violet back to my coven. Where she will be mine, Where I will punish her for having the nerve to leave me ” he growled and stormed out.

I watched as the other two stayed quiet until they knew he was gone. Then the woman growled ” Why does no one respect us anymore , respect our cause? People here stay in line for him now, not us. This is our coven yet he stamps about like it is his. Wallace wishes to take her away ” she snapped, as she started pacing the floor. ” That was the deal , the only reason he stayed , made our people stay when most wanted to leave and go with his parents to that coven. Once they turn us , we can go get her back. They will all be no match for us anymore. Let him think he is in charge. We know that we are the ones that are. His obsession with Violet will be the thing that blinds him in our plans. He will not stop to think that what he helps turn us into will be the thing that kills him ” the male says, trying to calm her.

She looks at him and then huffs ” We need to hurry ,I always knew Violet to be alive. I told you I could still feel her. I birthed her. She is apart of me. We age now , turning into these things will keep us young forever , strong and untouchable. When we get what we want, we will destroy everyone here , everyone that follows him. We will need no coven. Our power will be endless. This coven and his coven will be no more. They will be a liability , they must die “, she tells him seriously. He nods and grabs her aging face. ” We are near now , all of our hard work will pay off. And when we get our children back, we will turn them, He will not lay a hand on our daughter. If anyone is to punish their sins, it will be us “, he paused the video.

” You really don’t want to watch what happens next ” Al says. I felt my b***d boiling at what had just been said. The fact that he only stuck around for Violet. So , as soon as I could, I shifted. And pelted it into the wooded land as fully speed. I ran the border on four paws, figuring while I was running I could atleast make it worth while and do a parol. It was when I was heading back around near where I started when I saw a small fire lit a bit deeper into the bush. Curious as to who would be setting a fire this far out , I changed direction and followed it. As I got closer, I heard chanting. And was shocked to come across the warlock women. They stopped when they heard me approaching and looked my way. They did not seem to act guilty or suspicious. If anything, they all smiled my way as I stalked closer.

Danteye was the one who stood up, breaking the circle. ” Beta Devon ” she said and nodded with a gracious smile. Changing back, I stood before them naked, but unbothered. ” What are you ladies doing out here this late ? ” I asked them. She smiled. ” We are blessing the ground , taking away negative energy. Next we shall move onto the opening where many died in the fight ” she explained.

” May I ask what you are doing that for ? “It was a nice sentiment. But I was confused. She c****d her head a little to the side.

” The dark witches, if they come, will have a field day because of how much negative energy these lands have. It would only strengthen them. So we are blessing the lands on which we feel negative energies. Giving them nothing to pull from. After that, we agreed to work with the Luna to discuss other ways of protecting the pack ” she explained. And I don’t know how I had not thought of that. “That is kind of you ” I said, feeling grateful. She laughed ” No , it is not kind. We owe this pack our lives. You all saved us. We wish to be close to nature after so long in caves and darkness. Alpha Enzo offered us a house , but we wished to build our own shelter here under the trees and the stars . It was far enough away from the main pack land to be peaceful but close enough to be protected. When Enzo took on the mission of letting more than just wolves into our pack, he was not holding back. ” Well, I am happy you lovely ladies decided to stay with us ” I tell them.
