The men were trying to calm Ryken down , the fact Sinner had gone straight for Penny had set him off. Out of all of us here , he went for his sister. Why ? When all of us were being a threat to his coven. How could someone’s hatred for someone run so deep ? Especially his own sibling. I went to Penny , she was breathing deeply and looked white as a ghost as she stared in the direction of Sinner’s lifeless body laid on the ground. The dark witches were in uproar behind me , but they could wait. My mother’s shrieking voice led them all.

” Penny, are you OK ? “I asked her. She looked at me , with wide innocent eyes. “He’s dead ” she whispered. I was afraid she was going into shock. Because the next thing she did was start laughing , like unhinged laughing. It caught the attention of everyone , and we all looked on at her with confusion. ” Penny ? ” I asked her , but she kept laughing. She was laughing so hard she gripped at her stomach. As tears streaked down her face. Ryken was slowly making his way over to her now. He looked at her with guilt. An unease. He had just killed her brother. Yes, all be it her tormentor also. But she could still take this badly.

” Penny ” he said in a hesitant tone. She stopped laughing and looked up at him. A mix of emotions ran over her face and then , she lept to her feet and sprung into his arms. ” Thank you , thank you , thank you ” she whispered. Ryken wrapped his arms around her and looked at me , as if to say is she alright ? I shrugged because I had no idea.

” Penny , are you sure your alright ? “I asked her, getting back to my feet. She looked at me over her shoulder, not breaking her hold on Ryken. ” I am free , he is gone. He stole my magic , now I have it back ” she laughed. I frowned in confusion. ” What do you mean ? ” she finally let go of Ryken to look at us all. ” Sinner was born weak , you remember, don’t you Violet. He was such a weak kid , he made up for it in evilness though. Everyone thought when he came into his magic , he would only be a low-ranking dark witch. They were right , when you left and he realized I did not want what they wanted. He came to me , he said he would take my darkness for me so I could go and live free. It was the first time I had ever seen him be kind , brotherly. I was blessed with being stronger than he was . I didn’t want it though. As a young teen I didn’t. I was scared it would consume me like the rest of them. So , when he offered , I willingly accepted. He showed me a spell to use. To link with him , so he could use my magic. The thing was he fudged the spell, somehow. I don’t know how. And I couldn’t cut the link off , or pull back on any of my magic. Leaving me with very little. That was why he kept me there , close. So I didn’t go out and find a way to cut the link. But he’s gone , and the link is broken ” she smiled.

That would also be why he came after her just now. Fear of him becoming back weak. ” Did they not ask why all of a sudden he was strong ? “I asked and she shook her head. ” Why would they be bothered that one of their witches had become stronger ? As long as it helped them, they were not bothered. ” That made sense. She looked back at Ryken. ” You saved me from him , he would always have come after me. He had voiced many times he wondered if he just killed me would he get to keep my magic. I think that is what that just was ” she smiled at him. Ryken stepped up to her , and placed his hand on her cheek. ” I will always protect you my fire ” he whispered, and she nuzzled into his hand, smiling.

” THIS IS NOT YOU WARNING US TO STAY AWAY .LOOK WHAT THEY JUST DID TO SINNER.THEY ARE DECLARING WAR ” my mother’s voice rang loudly from behind me. Bringing all of our attention back to the evil behind us. ” This is not us declaring war , we are here to warn you ” I said back to her. She huffed , placing her hands on her h**s. ” How is that ? You trap us in here. You killed Sinner. Are these not all threatening acts ? “she states. Walking over towards the boundary , I felt my insides quivering. But I knew on the outside I looked strong. Devon walked beside me.

” Mother, you need to stop, stop this whole thing. I will not help you. I am happily mated. I will not marry Wallace , or help you in this ridiculous notion of yours. I would rather die first ” I said as I got closer to her and saw just how old she looked now. ” Violet , mated or not, you are betrothed to me , a promise. You need to reject your mate and come back to your people. You have run wild enough “, Wallace spat out.

I looked at him , and Devon growled beside me. ” I would never reject my mate , again I would rather die than do that and marry you. Why are you still here, Wallace ? I see none of your coven here. Nor your parents. We have been looking into you before we came here. And we have heard that they no longer wish to be in this charade. So , why are you still here ? It is not because you wish to help my parents. You despise them you always have. You even told me what my parents want to become is a death sentence , the council and the paranormal would hunt anyone down who caused that much of a threat. You also said you would never turn yourself into something like that. You being here to still help them is a lie , so why are you here ? ” his face was growing more and more angry with each word that I spoke.

” BECAUSE YOU ARE MINE ” he roared. He came closer towards me so he looked down at me through the barrier. ” You are mine and this coven is mine. All of it , I kept your mother alive all of these years because it was her that could still sense you out there somewhere. Do you know how long I have had to put up with her screeching , and wait for you to just use your magic so we could find you. My parents have been out scouring the land for you, for me. You think your coming to us has kept where your living now a secret. My parents found your little wolf pack days ago. Told me you were mated days ago. Knew your plan to trap us in this hell hole. And it gave me enough time to work on this ” he grinned evily. He pulled a necklace from underneath his clothes , one with a talesman that was the same as ours.

” I protected myself from your spell ” he laughed , his hand shot out and grabbed me by the throat. Through the barrier with no issues at all. Then he dragged me in. Devon came to follow but the barrier stopped him. I was inside this hell hole with him. ” If I were you I wouldn’t run back to your pack. My parents have currently got them all under a spell that the minute they see any of you , they attack you like your intruders ” he grinned, looking over my shoulder, and I knew he was looking at Enzo.

” Any of you step foot in here and I kill her , the spell stays up ” he hissed and dragged me off by my throat through the crowd. I could hear Devon’s roar that turned into his wolf’s roar. His wolf had taken over. Wallace removed his hand from my throat and grabbed my hair roughly. He marched me through the camp , and into a tent. And threw me down onto a bed. ” I always get what I want Violet. You know that. You have been mine since we were just kids. How dare you run from me and mate with that thing out there ” he spat at me as he paced back and forth.

My mother and father came running through the tent door , and my mother lunged at me to attack me. She was screeching like a wild animal as her hand rained down on my face , hit after hit. It was my father who eventually pulled her off , not Wallace, he just watched on like I deserved to be beaten. ” You lied to us you traitor ” my mother snapped, turning her hatred onto Wallace. He rounded on her looking down at her like she was just an ant. ” You will bode well to stay quiet , your death still hangs on a string. Did you not feel the strength of magic out there? My parents warned me to run from here , the enemy that was coming would be our demise. They did me a favor but now say my actions are my own. They will not lose more coven members in this fight for Violet. They helped me find her and they helped turn their pack members against them, but that is it. They will not go up against those surrounding our border. Our only hope of serving this is turning her , making her cave into her darkness. Keep her away from them , and get to work. That is what keeps you alive now. From this moment on, this is my coven and my witches. The talesman they planted around weakens you all by the minute. I need to go work on that not happening, because I am the only one it is not affecting. Make one wrong move and i shall kill you”, he threatened her before storming out of the tent, leaving me with them.
