The guys had some pack stuff to sort out , word from the council had come and they were set to come visit in two days’ time. So , preparations were busy underway. So , me and Anthea decided to try and get some answers. We gathered all of the girls. And asked them all to meet us and the warlock women’s camp. Rosie showed up alone , to which I was shocked. I had heard her mates were stuck to her like glue. But she did wear two very fresh looking mating marks on either side of her neck. ” How are you fitting in Roise ? ” I asked her as we waited for Shira and Penny to arrive. She glanced at me and smiled ” Wonderful , everyone has been so kind. My mates are wonderful , but I am glad you called me here today for help. They are spectacular , but I think they feel the need to fuss over me right now because I am grieving the loss of my sisters , again” she laughed , but there was a tinge of sadness.

” We need your help figuring this out , the why and the how it is happening when our babies are just small little things at this stage ” she finished off. I looked around to see everyone with confused looks on their faces. ” For the new additions to our ever-growing magical family , Antheas’ babies are’ really advanced. They lend her their magic , they give her strength and feelings. And we also found out they would be seriously powerful and hunted. We got told we would need to do something to protect them. A toddler with that much magic could accidently do something in a tantrum. So , we have that to figure out too “, I added.

” We need your help figuring this out , the why and the how it is happening when our babies are just small little things at this stage ” she finished off. ” We were visited by the moon goddess herself, who told us my babies would be special , but we would need an army to keep them protected. Since then, one by one , more have shown up. With gifts and talents we could not even imagine. She told us to accept differences in our family as we would need them. But my babies have a good sense of good people. I get good feelings off of each and every new member. If I got a bad feeling , I would trust them enough to turn them away “, Anthea told them all.

” I know this sounds a little out there , but how your babies are reacting to Violet’s. Isn’t that how a mate reacts to their mate ? ” Shira asked Anthea. Anthea looked a little taken back to start with. She looked at me , and I felt just as shell shocked. ” How can that happen though ? They are just tiny little things. We don’t sense our mates normally until we come into our wolf around seventeen or eighteen ” Anthea said, sounding shocked. Shira shrugged. ” I am not sure it is just a theory that I am throwing in the mix “.

” It is a good theory , but we are told that Anthea’s babies are a boy and a girl. Surely a brother and sister wouldn’t share the same mate ” I stuttered out. ” Who’s to say you are not carrying twins also ? “Dataneye added. My heart skipped a beat. ” You think that is possible ? ” she shrugged one shoulder. ” Could be ” she answered.

” It would make more sense and go with the theory if you were, ” Shira agreed. ” Years and years ago , I mean ancient times. there was a mythical story about Egyptian cat shifters and a quad of power. All four elements , two twin sets of shifters were born , each mated to the other. The boy and the girl from each set. The story goes that they were chosen to be born in a time of great need for them. Each was gifted with the control of an element , one shifter parent and one witch. They were hunted , just like the moon goddess told you that Antheas would be. I mean this situation is a little different , and it was mythical, so it could just be a random story. But , it does strike a little uncanny, does it not ? ” Rosie asked.

I felt my breath coming a little short as panic started to make my heart beat faster. Dataneye noticed it and came over to me. ” Breathe child , we are just brainstorming here. I’ll tell you what , Anthea told me she is due to the doctor today to be scanned. Why not you go too and test the theory that you are carrying twins or just one. This could all be for nothing , mean while we will all stay here and look into things. We can also look into how we protect Anthea’s babies , from not just others but themselves also . We have all been brought to the two of you and this pack for a reason , so trust in us to handle this so you both don’t get too stressed. ” She said softly and I nodded , Anthea came over to me and took my hand. In an instant, I felt a little calmer.

” Come on let’s go get our mates and go see them. Girls, can you meet us at the pack house in an hour? They have all sorts of books in the archive. Something could help us. I will get wine in for you guys , it could be a long night ” she smiled at them. They all agreed to be there . I felt silly for panicking so much , but damn it, why was everything with us a drama , a fear of being hunted or the ones we loved hurt.

” I’ll link Enzo to say we are heading to the doctors ” Anthea said softly , so calm and in control. As we walked back, we walked back hand in hand. ” I know you don’t want to hear this , but if you had twins, I think it would be kind of cool. To not have to go through this alone. I don’t want to freak you out by saying this , but I am scared shitless too. I feel kind of alone in my feelings of fear. Enzo , he keeps his emotions regarding all of this pretty caged off. I think he is trying to be strong for me , but actually what it does is leave me feeling pretty alone. Me and you we are pretty similar , shitty up bringing. We struggle with the self-image of ourselves. Maybe that is why they chose us to go through this together , because we could help each other ” she suggested to me.

” You don’t look scared ” I laughed gently. She rolled her eyes and laughed too. ” Trust me, I am scared shitless if I am honest “. It made me relax a little that I wasn’t the only one feeling this way. ” The guys are meeting us there , but then they have to go back to preparations. I told them it’s cool we have a girl night planned anyway ” I smiled at that. After days hauling up with Devon girls, night sounds great. If I could partake in the wine drinking that would be better though. ” Sounds great to me , let’s go see if I have your twins mates in my belly, huh ” I laughed, trying to make light of it. ” I would say no , it’s too wild of a theory , but after the last month or so. Nothing shocks me anymore ” Anthea added , and I couldn’t agree more.
