Enzo moved fast. His parents had moved out of the pack house that morning and into the house they’d built. Enzo had a huge bed moved into his parents’ old room , which would become his and Antheas. They still needed to decorate it for their tastes. Enzo was leaving that to Anthea though. But finding out we had twins arriving too and the theory was looking more and more likely. Then we had no doubt this sleeping arrangement would become a permanent thing throughout the pregnancy.

The girls were still downstairs , but Anthea had linked Enzo to say they were on their way up. So , after a few stiff drinks, we made our way upstairs, both of us beat after a long day , which had its highlights of seeing our pups. Stripping down to my boxers , I climbed in one side of the huge bed and enzo the other. Both of us sat up against the headboard, In silence, the awkwardness setting in. ” This is f*****g weird right ? We haven’t had sleepovers since we were like ten “, I laughed, trying to break the silence.

He looked at me and grinned , his head rolling to the side on the headboard. ” Yea , it’s f*****g weird. Never thought this would be how I spent the first good few months of my mating. Even with Anthea pregnant ” I nodded. ” Me too, brother , me too. ” I answered him. ” If our pups were mates though, man , I couldn’t have been happier. I mean i wish they knew who their mates were a lot later on, especially since we both have girls it seems. Kind of feels our kids won’t solely be ours. I mean if she falls over , will she run to me or your boy ? My boy won’t come to me telling me all the girls he likes , because he will only have eyes for one from birth. Do I sound like a selfish prick ? “I asked him and he shook his head.

” Nah man , I have been thinking the same. But like you say , I couldn’t have hoped for better. I wonder why though ? Why so early ? I mean, even if they were destined , why do it so they’ll know this soon ? ” I shrugged. ” No idea man ” I answered him as I heard the girls talking as they made their way up the stairs to this floor. Minutes later, the door opened and they both walked in and then froze at the sight , before they both burst out laughing. ” What’s so funny ? ” Enzo asked.

” Nothing ” Anthea said , but was still laughing. ” Something obviously is, ” I said , I felt my forehead crease in confusion. ” It just looks weird , I mean this whole situation is weird. But then , walking in seeing you two at the far ends of the bed. Well , if anyone else saw this, it could be classed as something freaky. ” She said , and Violet laughed again. “Definitely looks like the beginning of a cheesy s*x movie or something ” Violet added , causing me to roll my eyes but grin and her humour.

Enzo , ever the serious one, had an eyebrow raised. But I could see the smile he was trying to hold back. ” Let them think what they want , Violet Devon brought you some clothes. I had someone unpack them into that closet there. Anthea, our stuff is in the walk-in closet “, he told them. Cutting off any jokes about an orgy . The girls got some night clothes out and Violet disappeared into the walk-in , closing the door to change, and Violet went into the bathroom.

When she walked out in a little short and tank top , I g*****d, burying my head in the pillows. ” f**k me ” I growled. ” Don’t get any ideas dickhead , we agreed for two hours in the afternoon to be freed up. No f*****g while your in my bed “, Enzo warned. Not being able to just be intimate with Violet when the mood strikes , is going to be a ballache. When ANthea walked out in a nightie and Enzo g*****d , I laughed at karma kicking his a*s. This was going to be a long few months for both of us. The girls laughed at our horned dog attitudes and climbed into bed.

” So , did you girls figure anything out ? “Enzo asked , when we had all laid ourselves down and switched the lights off. Violet had her head laid on my chest and we were cuddled up on our side together. ” Not really , we talked about maybe binding the babies’ powers until they hit eighteen to try and hide what they are. Help protect them from others and themselves. It would give us time to teach them. Make it so they really understand their responsibility and let them lead a sort of normal life for a while .” Anthea said , but she didn’t sound all that enthusiastic about it.

” We also want to see if the moongoddess will come and talk to us , give us some answers. We feel we are kind of just throwing out solutions without really having much to go on “, Violet murmured, sounding sleepy. ” As for the mates thing , all the feelings make sense. But we are still just guessing. Sianna is even guessing she has no idea. She agrees they could be mates, but she is confused as to why we feel it so much now. ” Anthea added.

The room went silent for a while. I thought everyone was falling to sleep. But then Enzo spoke up ” I think the binding thing could be a good idea , we have visitors all of the time. It only takes one of them to see one of the kids do something and the word could go out. We have seen how strong minded they are already, and they are not even born yet. What if they don’t like someone who visits or accidently lets their emotions get too much. I think it may be for the best “.

” He’s right ” echoed a small female voice. Not one of ours , the bedside light got switched on quickly , and when it did we were all sitting up looking around the room, to find it empty. We all knew that voice , it was hers. ” Sorry , I didn’t mean to startle you all , but I had to be careful. The word is traveling that I am medaling and the other gods don’t like it. ” She says ” I need you to come to me ” she then whispers.

” Go to her ? “I asked and before anyone could answer, the room started changing. I grabbed Violet’s hand as the feeling of being transported started to happen like when the girls did it. When my vision became back to normal , we were somewhere that looked a lot like our opening. But something was off , no breeze, no movements at all and no sounds around us, I couldn’t feel the connection to the pack. Infront of us she stood , smiling at us.

” Where are we ?” Enzo asked, looking around. ” You are in my realm , I can not come to you right now. So , I have brought you here for the answers you seek. I thought this setting would make you all feel a little calmer “, she looked around with a frown on her face. ” It does not compare to the real thing though, how I envy you all, ” she sighed. ” Why can you not come to us ? ” Anthea asked her , and she looked back towards us. ” I have been a little too present in your lives , giving out help and changing the course of the future the fates have set. Let me just say I have been a little naughty. But , it is all in the greater good , I assured them. Even still , pain, loss and evil are a necessity , it brings balance “, she told us.

I wasn’t about to try and understand the greater meaning of how everything works , my focus was caring for those around me that I love. ” What answers can you give us ? ” I asked her. She looked at me and smiled ” All of them ” she stated simply , as always just as confusing. We all waited for her to begin .

I took Sianna’s powers from Sianna but they had to go somewhere , so I have divided them equally by four. I found a technicality to have the power to stay on earth , to fight the battle of good. But to lessen the burden and the risk , I split the magic. No risk of someone having too much. It goes to their heads and flips them . And I gave them mated wolf spirits to keep them all grounded , as you say. The reason your babies are so advanced is for two reasons; the magic they hold and its power. And also, the wolf spirits they have are strong ones , powerful. It was also my loophole , that Anthea kept the magic somehow for the battles you were about to face ” she smiled again , a cocky one.

” So , you see why I am in trouble right now, ” she laughed. ” So , will our kids have the fate of being taken back? Like all of Sianna’s past lives ? ” Anthea asked, panicked. And the goddess shook her head. ” No , I assure you that won’t happen. That is why all four have an equal amount ” she answered.

” Why do they need that power ? ” Enzo asked her. ” I can not say , but it will not be needed until they are of age. One great battle will occur and then they will help remain the balance. That’s all I can say. Well , about that topic anyway. ” She answered him . ” If we bind there magic , won’t them knowing they are mates be a red flag ? Wolves don’t find their mates until they are older “, Violet asked her.

She nodded. ” It would be. That is why you must hide that from them too. I did not mean for them to know that young. It was just a by product of them having the magic and the wolves they have. I didn’t want to risk waiting to put the magic Sianna had into them. Both of you pregnant with twins was not just a freak accident , I needed it. The other gods demanded that magic be destroyed , or kept locked away. You must bind both , but you won’t be able to do it until they are all born. Then , you must teach them , teach them control , right and wrong , compassion and, most of all, make them bad a*s. Then, when the time is right, you tell them all of this and their purpose. Do not keep it a secret. They will come into magic , they must have the desire to learn all of that too. The only way and the only thing you can be truthful about is they will be hybrid wolf shifters and witches. I know I ask a lot , to hide thing from your children. But , it needs to happen. Don’t tell them they are mates, don’t tell them the amount of power they will have or who they will become. Rosie told you a story , look into that ” she said before everything around us started changing again.

” I have faith in you and the family you have around you now. I am sorry for this burden. But you are the only ones I trust. I love you all.. Goodbye ” her voice echoed as it got quieter. Until she was gone and we were back in bed. I feared that would be the last time we ever saw or spoke to our moon goddess.
