She stood leering at me , her smile evil and malicious. She was really winding me up. She had taken the spell off that held my body frozen , and replaced it with shackles around my wrists and ankles that were attached to the wall. They must be spelled with something too, because I had been trying to shift for the last hour we had been here , and had no luck. Hunter was going ballistic inside of me. ” Now let’s try again to get into that head of yours shall we? I believe this time I have removed whatever that b***h Shira had done “. She came forward and put her hands on my head again. Like she had been doing since we got here, all of the other times she had been unsuccessful. I hadn’t even felt so much as a tickle in my mind.

I had fun mocking her and calling her weak , all that had landed me was her magicking up some wolfbaine and rubbing it across my chest. That s**t f*****g hurt ,I smelt my skin burn in its wake. And felt myself get weaker with each time she stroked it across my skin. So now I was keeping my mouth shut , I was gritting my teeth that hard , I was worried I was going to break them. The mantra in my mind , was that I would kill this evil b***h with my own hands at some point.

This time when she started chanting , it felt like ten thousand knifes had just pierced my skull. I felt myself scream out. ” Hunter f*****g stop her ” I begged, but even he was whining in the back of my mind. I tried everything I had to stop it. But whatever she was doing differently this time made it work. No matter how much of a block or strength I would have used, there was no way she wasn’t gaining entry this time.

When she was done , she stepped back with an evil cackle. I felt my body say and drop back down the wall. My vision had gone blurry , my head fuzzy and my body weak. I was panting and sweating. ” So she is the chosen true alpha , tell me Enzo. Does that make you feel inferior to her somehow? Wait, don’t answer that I know that it does. I have just read all of your thoughts. You’re happy for her , but in the back of your mind. You feel you have something to prove now , that you still need to protect her. She doesn’t need your protection. Well, maybe against me , when I get that magic. But then none of you will be any match. You’re a typical power-grabbing ruler though. You rejected your own mate because she was the runt , because your ego was so big that you were scared she would ruin your image. Pathetic , willing to get rid of the one you love for power . I should be surprised but I am not ” she spat.

I panted and looked up at her. She looked down on me like I was the villain. ” Is that not what you have done ?” I gasped out. ” WHAT ? ” she roared. ” I am nothing like you “, she added. ” Your worse ” I winced, struggling I got myself to my feet so I was the one to look down on her. ” You are worse than me , than your father , than anyone. I came to my senses. I made a mistake. But you , you killed your father , you then drained the people you call family of magic. You left your sister behind. What was all that for ? Power , magic , strength , to be feared and known ? Or in your head have you played off what you are doing as something different ? ” I wheezed out.

She slapped my face hard and it my weakened state , it actually made my head turn. ” How dare you ” she screamed. But a second female voice in the room made us both turn to it. ” He is not wrong ” said Firya. Yianna’s eyes widened. ” Firya ” she gasped. The girl did not look well , her skin was pale and her eyes were dull. ” Shocked to see me ? ” she snarled at Yianna. ” How ? ” she said. And Firya laughed. She stood a little taller. ” How , what Yianna ? How am I here ? How am I alive ? How could I do that to my own twin sister ? Which how is it , because there are a lot of how’s for this situation ” she snapped at her.

When Yianna didn’t speak , Firya rolled her dead eyes. ” I shall answer for you then, I am here because I am not stupid , I knew one day you would betray me. You always thought yourself smarter than me. I didn’t mind , I let you think that. It was my advantage. But I am not as docile as you think. I did what you failed to do. I linked my life to Willows, her and my magic together. You only got half of the package. When I woke , I went after her and took back the other half , unlinked us and killed her. You’re so set on you being the queen. I knew from when we were kids you would do this to me. You would always take more rashons that father gave us , keeping you the stronger one. You chose to be here closer to where we knew the magic was. I let you do that. I was playing my own game. My own back up plan ” she sneered.

” You say your not dumb , but yet here you are looking half dead and me strong. I could snap your neck like a twig ” Yianna threatened. Firya nodded ” You could it was why I brought a back-up plan “. Just as she said that, the house shook and went dark , the sound of loud whooshing happened above our heads. ” You brought your pet dragon , tell me how that is supposed to scare me” Yianna asked her sister , crossing her arms over her chest looking smug. ” He is just a part of it , look out there ” she said pointing to the window. Yianna looked out and gaped , an involuntary reaction. I stretched to see and saw Devon strapped to a tree.

” You see Yianna , I have never seen you interested in a male before. Not once, hell I am positive you were still a virgin. How sad , you hate all men. But him , I saw the way you wanted him back there, I saw the way you would look at him and the fact you were actually intermate. You didn’t need a mate when you went into that pack , yet you chose to have one after watching them. So , I thought could it be my sister actually letting herself have feelings for someone other than herself? You see the dragon, his sights are locked on poor Devon out there , one word from me and he’s a chargrilled wolf ” she smiles at Yianna.

Yianna tried to call her bluff. She looks at her sister and shrugs. ” You obviously do not know me at all . like that would care to me ” Firya laughs at her sisters response. ” RYKAN SHOW HER WE MEAN BUISNESS ” she shouts towards the ceiling. The house shook again. It all went dark and then bright orange lit up the house as the big beast sprayed fire from its mouth and hit the house behind Devon. My heart was in my mouth ,I struggled against my restraints. Trying to break free and save my friend from the twisted game these two had going on.

” Let him f*****g go ” I growled at Firya , but she didn’t pay me any mind. Her eyes were only for Yianna. Yianna had a fleeting look of terror and it gave me hope. I mean , what was Firya thinking? This girl killed her father and she thought she had killed her sister for power. What chance did Devon stand? My friend was going to die in front of my face and there was nothing I would be able to do about it. ” What do you want, Firya ? “Yianna asked and I looked towards her , wait ? Could it be ? Could it be that she actually did like him ?

” I want my magic back . Then I want my cut of Sianna’s magic like we had planned. After that you go to one end of the earth, I will go to the other. Because I wish to never lay eyes on you again ” she spat at her. Yianna looked out of the window at Deon , who was struggling in his bonds, yelling to be let go. Yianna started laughing , it was a condescending one. ” It was a good try ” she said , and looked back at Firya. Her eyes narrowed. ” You are not Firya , so which one of those little witches are you hmmm ? “she smiled at her. Firya looked at her , never wavering. ” Don’t be so dumb , of course it is me ” she said, but even I heard the waver in her voice. Yianna lifted her finger up and waggred it at her. ” Now, now , no need to lie. it was a good plan. Coming to get the wolf back here. Using the man, I entertained myself with for a whole minute. But it is a pathetic plan. What do you plan to do from here ? The magic you have is no match , my sisters body is weak, which is weakening you. So what do you plan to do, Shira ? Willow ? Violet ? or maybe even Anthea herself ? which one?” she sang at Firya.

I was lost , I wasn’t really following. ” RYKEN NOW ” Firya shouted suddenly. She stepped back towards me and grabbed my hand. She stared Yianna in the face. ” The plan wasn’t a rescue , just a f*****g decoy b***h ” Firyas’ mouth said. The house shook again and then it lit up orange as fire blanketed the windows. I was about to see the flash of my life before my eyes , but when the fire engulfed the house. It didn’t touch us , I didn’t even feel the heat. ” Anthea needs us ” Firya said , before the chains fell from my wrists and ankles. I looked around the brining house and didn’t see Yianna anyhwere.

We disappeared from the house and landed in the cave where the pool was. Anthea was in the pool and Yianna stood at its side. She was glaring at Anthea, who was smirking at her back. ” It’s over ” Anthea said. Her body started levitating out of the pool , her skin shone brightly. ” It isn’t over , I’ll have that magic . It’s mine . You think this is not what I wanted ? ” Yianna shouted at Anthea. ” If you want it come in and get it ” Anthea goaded , but Yianna had read my mind she knew not to . Anthea ,she lifted her hand towards Yianna, but she disappeared. ” She’s running ” Firya shouted. ” Let’s get Rion and get out of here , I can protect us at the pack now ” Anthea stated. She clapped her hands together and we were at the tree Devon had been strapped to. ” She’s taken f*****g Devon”, I snapped, pissed off. ” It wasn’t Devon , it was Rion ” Anthea said, looking distraught.
