Sianna had taken over , I wouldn’t have known how to do that. I would have been virtually helpless. I watched as she disappeared , but then she re-appeared behind Enzo. Her hand wrapped around his body and, in the blink of an eye , my world had disappeared. She had taken him. Sianna had stopped whatever spell she had been saying thinking she had gone. But she hadn’t. She had just moved. Chaos broke out as the future alpha was taken. Devon’s bonds that held him slipped off , as he stumbled forward to his knees. Violet went running up to him. And even though he didn’t shun her , you could tell it wasn’t what he wanted her to be so close. Meanwhile, I stood watching it all frozen , unmoving. Like if I didn’t move or react , it wasn’t real.

Sianna was screaming at me in my mind, but nothing. I just stood staring at the place my mate had been standing. Shira appeared in front of me and she was talking. I saw her mouth moving. But I couldn’t hear what she was saying. It wasn’t until I heard Enzo in my mind. ” Anthea ” his voice came through and I felt myself gulp in a deep lung full of air. “Enzo ” I shouted through our link. ” The island Anthea , she’s cutting our link off. But we are on the island.Be careful “, he says, before I feel our link being blocked.

I snapped back to reality and looked around for the Alpha. ” He’s back on the island ” I shouted, not seeing him. But hoping someone will understand what I was trying to say. Devon came to me and held my shoulders. ” She wants in his head Anthea , she is going to get out whatever he knows ” I felt my heart stop beating for a second. Looking at Shira with fear , Shira shook her head. ” I had all you guys protected. It’s why she didn’t get to you before. I didn’t have enough strength to shield all of you ” she said, looking apologetically at Devon.

” How did you manage to cover Samuel and Lorna ? ” she shrugged. ” I didn’t, they must just not have wanted to use them , they had what they needed with who they had. ” The alpha came running over back in human form with some shorts on. ” How are we getting him back ? “he said looking to me and Shira. He was at a loss here , he had never been to the island. He and the wolves couldn’t really go up against her , she was a warlock with magic. It needed to be fought back with magic and the strength of the pack.

” The moon goddess said I needed to take in the magic , so that she could take it back. Well, most of it back. I know Yianna is powerful right now. But not as strong as Sianna’s magic ” I said, and Shira was nodding. ” She always has a back-up plan “, Violet said, coming into the conversation. She looked like she didn’t want to impose , but this girl, She knows Yianna better than anyone, so she was most likely the person we needed the most. ” What do you think the back up plan is ? ” Willow asked, joining in too Rykan at her side.

Violet looked like she was concentrating. She looked at the ground, her eyes bouncing about. ” It’s a trap ” she eventually says. Her eyes snap up at us. “She knows you’re not about to hand that magic back. She also knows now that she’s stronger, the first thing you would do to get your mate back is go after that magic. This is like a second and third plan. If she can get into his mind, she has everything. If she can’t, you’ll lead her to it anyway. She took him back to that island. She had always suspected the magic was on there somewhere. The night you used it for the first time “, she looked at me and I nodded.

” She knew you hadn’t left the island , her and Firya. They can sense when magic is used. She knew you didn’t leave, so that confirmed it for her. She also checked over that island a million times in the years Sianna was gone. When Sianna left , she was going to give up. But then she sensed the magic being used just days after Sianna had gone. She figured out Shira had some of it. That was when she researched how one person could have another person’s magic. She came across a spell for magic extraction. Yianna is smart , she is making sure she has fail safes ” Violet finished.

” She was coming back for me to start with though , not Enzo. He told her I didn’t know anything. That was why in her panic she only grabbed him. Even with me not knowing anything, she was still going to take me ” he said, confused. Violet huffed in annoyance , which made Devon look at her. ” That’s because, for the first time in her men hating miserable life , she finally got smitten with one. She wouldn’t admit it to her sister. But she likes you ” she snarls out, her voice full of jealousy.

Devon looked disgusted by the thought. But an idea in my own mind was forming. I stayed quiet as thoughts ran through my mind while all the others continued talking. I looked to see Rion hanging back. He had pretty much been keeping out of the way of everyone. I felt s**t for not even asking how he was. An idea hit me like a tornado. ” That’s it ” I said, laughing, and they all looked at me like I had lost my mind.

” Bait , Devon is the only thing we have seen her show a human emotion for. Why would she risk coming here for him ? Why would she come for him at all ? Violet just said it she actually liked him. And I bet your a*s she would be jealous to know your actually mates. No spells , but fated ,mates. Why don’t we test just how much she likes him? As a distraction, you two go there. Cause a distraction, me and Shira will go get the magic “, I say, and they all look at each other looking a bit unsure.

” She could go after Violet and hurt her , if she is that jealous”, Devon said. I had been too caught up in using that as an angle. I hadn’t thought of the consequences it would have. My face falls. ” Sorry Violet , I didn’t think of that. The last thing I want is you hurt “She nods and Rion steps in on the conversation. ” I don’t mean to interrupt, but I have an idea. “

When we all looked at him, he cleared his throat. ” Well, I can shape shift into her sister as a distraction. I have been around them enough to know how Firya would act ” he offers. ” But she entombed Firya “, Devon says, and he nods. “The spell didn’t work on them the first time. Why would it work now ? ” Rion asks.

” She has taken her magic though. Maybe it was their magic that stopped it from working last time “, I added. Rion looked at me and shrugged ” Sounds like they are both conniving , back up plans and stuff. Who is to say Firya didn’t have one? ” I was shaking my head , just like Violet. She could hurt him if she figured it out , so I voiced that. ” Look , I want to help. I want to make up to you all for all of this. I am willing to take the risk. If she kills me, I would have died for a good cause. You need that magic back”, he states. Violet took in a breath , hearing her brother was willing to die. Couldn’t be easy to hear.

Devon grabbed my arm and I looked at him. ” I need to talk to you a minute “. I was about to argue that couldn’t it wait ? But he shook his head and stared hard at me. Everyone watched the exchange. It wasn’t subtle. Devon never was. Smiling apologetically at Rion and the rest , I walked backwards with Rion. Until we were at a distance away. Then he kept his voice low. ” What if he is still controlled by her, Anthea ? You could send him and he could grass you up straight away at what was happening, Not only that she isn’t dumb she would want to see magic , or proof it was her actual sister. A sister that would be very pissed at the fact she tried to kill her and steal her magic. Send me. I’ll tell her you sent me to discuss a truce , a trade off something”, but if I did that, his argument about Rion would be hypocritical. f**k , this was awful. Not knowing whom to trust.

Another idea hit. ” Shira, is there a way to know if she has definitely taken all her spells and mind compulsion off of these ? “I asked, walking around Devon and back to the crowd. She shrugged ” Sianna tried to read Rion’s mind , tested him and she couldn’t detect anything . So I have no idea how we will do it. If Sianna couldn’t “. ” I will go inside of her sister’s body , I’d hijack just like they did. You know where the magic is and Sianna will tell you how to retrieve it “, Shira offers. Why was everyone jumping head first into what could be dangerous ? So many options , what the hell were we supposed to do ? Or who were we willing to risk more like ? I hated this , but I needed my mate back. He had only been gone no longer than twenty minutes and it felt like a lifetime.
