” Like you would kill anyone ? ” she shrugs at me. ” But she has all of your women magic and her sisters , she is powerful and she’s conniving. What if we lose ?” I asked her and her eyes softened. ” I have not seen the entire pack that we are in , but I have seen enough to know you are surrounded. She is but one woman. Why do you all fear her so much ? ” she asks and her questions stumped me into silence. So she continues to talk. ” You have magic , so do the other girls that woke us. You are not defenseless “, she states.

” I know that ” I was about to answer, but she cut me off. ” Do you know that ? Because if you had known that you would already be fighting her back , would you not ? ” I nodded dumbly. ” Yea , I mean no. But s**t . We have just been letting this all happen. We were so scared they would beat us. They lived with us for weeks and we did nothing. Always waiting. Too scared ” I said quietly. ” To lose people ? “she asked and I nodded again.

” You, my dear, are a gentle soul , Warlocks; not so much. You are tip-toeing while she sprints. That is her only advantage of you. She is not immortal. I know this Shira you have here. She is a well-known witch. We heard the sisters talk about her from time to time. They suspected she carried some of the magic. Then they said you did. Why do you both fear using it ? ” her eyebrows creased when she looked at me.

” Because Sianna was scared of using it “, I whispered, and looked back at my brothers. ” Get Enzo , and Shira and Willow. It’s time we went to get our family back “, I said, and turned back grinning at her. ” Thank you”2 I told her and she shrugged. ” You can thank me by killing her , you won’t sneak up on her with all that snow. Knowhere to hide. But there is another way in to that castle. It is a bit of a dirty way in. But he had a tunnel built. It travels miles across the land. It will be covered over by snow at the entrance, no doubt. It was how we would escape. Then cave the tunnel in behind us. Thirty miles east of the castle. There is a lone boulder. The hatch is at the side of that. Placed it there so he wouldn’t lose it in the snow. After all of these years, I don’t know what the tunnels’ condition will be “, she sighed. I could see her strength weakening.

But she had done more than enough. She didn’t know a miracle way to kill her. I think I had been hoping there was a simple solution. Sianna had been too scared to be called back for the magic , but I had a warrior inside of me. The magic was gone , the treat for her having to go gone. But after all of the stories we were told of Sianna in the past , they all made her out to be fearless and bold. And used to this sort of thing. I could only think she had remained quiet in fear.

By mid afternoon, we had a full plan in place. Sianna was actually quite the strategist. I think she surprised everyone. It also made me realize just how much she had been holding back because of the fear she had of the balance keepers. I guess even for someone as powerful as Sianna was , there was always fear. Like Enzo’s fear of losing me, I saw my mate as strong and powerful. In my mind, nothing would take him down. But everyone had their kryptonite. What was hers ? The only thing to ever make her feel weak ? Her father.

Sianna came up with the idea of haunting her with him. Hallucinations. Just use the image of her dad enough to throw her off her balance. Sianna knew a spell that could create them , but to do that. Me and she would have to be close. Close enough to reach Yianna’s mind. Ryken, after flying around the castle, could confirm he had seen the boulder. He said it was hard to miss because of its size and the fact it stood out against the white blanket.

The team going was me , Willow , Shira , Enzo , Samuel , Peter, Ryken and the alpha. Devon was furious about being left behind. But it was too dangerous for him. Yianna wanted him and his head was not in the right place for this sort of mission. But Enzo had told him as the future beta. He needed to keep the pack safe while we were gone. He saw it for what was a cop out. Enzo hadn’t wanted his dad to come , but this time the alpha was not being left behind.

This was a taken down if possible mission , but our main goal. Take back my family whilst she was distracted. And also leave her a present. Sianna had wanted to bring her to us , bring the fight to the wolves. With the sheer number of us here. She was majorly out numbered. Even with her magic. This was basically to piss her off. And, of course, save the people I loved.

We , well should I say I didn’t want to waste time. In my mind, we had none to waste. This time we were more prepared to drop into the freezing temperatures close to the castle. From where we were near the boulder, the castle couldn’t be seen because of the blizzards of snow. Which worked well for us. She had said it was close to the boulder, but she was right when she said it would be covered. It took us a while to find , because it wasn’t exactly smack bang at the side of the boulder.

Plus, the snow had kept falling around us , making it hard. In the end, we used our wolves to do the trick. It was humiliating to act so much like a dog. But it sped up the process immensely. It was just freezing even for a wolf that ran hot , to get undressed and back dressed. But Ryken and the girls had found humor in it. Which was good for such a tense time. The tunnel was as disgusting as she had said it would be, after we had all dropped in. We had made the trek through the sludge that was thick.

” How many miles do you think we have walked ?” Shira had complained as her boot got stuck again and the alpha helped her pull it out. ” About half way maybe ? ” Samuel said. ” Can’t you see the end yet with your wolf vision ? “Willow laughed. I looked forward , but still it was nothingness. ” It still looks never ending ” I break the bad news to them. I was holding Enzo’s hand as he led the way. The alpha took the back, with Peter, Samuel and Ryken between me and the girls in a boy-girl-like fashion.

” s**t how are you lot not tired? I feel like I have hiked a mountain already ” Shira whined. ” Do you want me to piggy back, you ?” The alpha offered. Before she answered ” That isn’t a bad idea , we can run this if we carry the girls, ” Rykan said. It was true , it was Wiollow and Shira that were keeping us slower. Us wolves and dragons had the stamina and power to get through it , well at least I do now. A week ago , I would have given up ages ago.

The alpha lost an argument about him carrying Shira , but she was passed to Peter by Enzo. The alpha grumbled that he was still as fit as the pups on this mission. But he eventually sighed and shut up. Once we had the girls on their backs, it was still a task. But we were quicker. It still took time but we eventually came to the end of the long dark tunnel and were met with a big wooden door that looked like it was starting to rot.

We all stood staring at it like it was the opening to Narnia. ” Can you hear her ?” Willow whispered. My eyes watered. ” No , but I hear Timothy ” I told her. Looking back at Peter and Samuel, they both looked livid. From behind the door the screams of our brother could be heard.
