Yianna paced back and forth when she got back , her face like thunder. ” They know everything , everything. Firya’s compulsion didn’t hold. Now they know who I am , they will come for me too now ” she ranted. This was the most rattled I had seen Yianna. The crease between her brows was creasing her skin. She was frowning that hard. The council being onto her now wasn’t a good thing. But I had my eyes zoned on one thing. I had noticed it when she had first come back. She had gotten rid of the rotten smelly goods and blankets she had brought here before she left. When she used her own magic , the bracelet had glowed on her wrist and she had huffed down at it , so I am guessing it had warmed her own skin too. The bracelet did not just sense my magic , but any magic used. It made sense, seeing as Willow could use hers.

Yianna herself could sense magic as well too , which put a bit of a dampener on my idea. To deactivate the bombs at the exact time she used her magic , so she would think it was her own magic that had been used. ” She could only sense the magic of the goddess Anthea , because it was so strong. Our magic now , she won’t notice ” Sianna told me, answering my thoughts. ” Are you sure , what if she does and we end up getting someone killed ? “

Sianna’s unease brushed through me. She wasn’t one hundred percent sure. ” We need to try Anthea , we can not just remain sitting here , look at her. She is becoming unhinged , all of her plans are falling apart. The walls are closing in , she will start to get more and more erratic. Sometimes the best plans are the easiest. Just do the spell regardless of her sensing it , disable the neck wear and get us all the hell out of here. We need to be ballsy Anthea , stop cowering. Our strength is still just as much as hers, even with all of the magic she has stolen “.

” But the babies, Sianna ” I said , feeling more scared now than I had ever felt in my life. ” Your babies are my babies, Anthea. I will protect them with everything I have “, she vowed. I looked across at the other three. If this went wrong, it could seal one of their fates. But Sianna was right , Yianna was starting to look crazier by the minute. I felt Enzo urgently trying to poke at my mind , and I saw the alpha looking at me , like he needed to tell me something. But I need to concentrate on this right now. “Let’s at least wait until she uses her magic. It could give us some time. Do this one step at a time “, I told Sianna , who agreed.

After fifteen minutes of watching her pace , we decided to try and force her to use it. ” Yianna ” I called her name , and she looked at me with frenzied eyes. ” We need to eat or drink something. Please can you magic us some here ” her eyes narrowed. ” Why should I do that ? Your f*****g lover boy is doing something secretive , they’re no longer discussing things out loud , and all of a sudden they are all untouchable. I can not reach any of their minds. He isn’t doing as I asked , he’s being defiant. Why is everyone always so defiant and not giving me what I want ? ” she said , her steps moving her closer to me. Until she loomed above me.

Everything really was falling apart for her. I couldn’t feel more elated and not be able to show it. ” If you don’t feed us , you lose your leverage. Think about it. You won’t get what you want if we are dead. Don’t blow everything now by being irrational, , you are unfortunately smarter than that. You have been beating us at every turn , making our lives f*****g hell. The magic is gone , why can you not just be happy with what you have got ? “, I added on, so it didn’t look like I was trying to trick her.

She paused , her eyes scanning my face. ” You really do bore me ” she rolled her eyes in disgust. ” The quicker I can kill all of you the better . You all except to be less in life. Whereas I am meant to be great. That is why I always win. I mean look at you , you had all of that magic and did nothing. You didn’t even try to end me with it. Why ? Because you are ruled by rules and morals , good , evil , right and wrong. I follow no rules. I have no boundaries. One true alpha , your nothing ” she spat out at me.

But the glow on her wrist caught my eye. ” Here, eat ” she says , and as she lifts her hand and turns to bring food here. I quickly cast the spell to disarm the bombs and the remote. Yianna turned her head quickly to look at me. I held my breath , and Sianna jumped to attention inside of me ready to get us all the hell out of here , by fighting this b***h. I thought I had been busted , but instead she sneered. ” Eat like the dogs you are ” she pointed at the dog bowls full of food that she had brought here. When she turned her back and walked off , I looked at everyone else.

It was now or never. I needed to use everything I had and make sure everyone got out of here alive. I needed to dig deep and pull out all of the strength I had. I slowly stood up , and squared my shoulders. Looking at the back of her head, ” Yianna “, I said , and she looked back at me. Her face was pissed , then shocked because I wasn’t sitting down anymore. I was depending on Sianna here. I was learning how to use magic but I wasn’t the best yet. ” f**k you ” I spat and thrust my hands out , and something that started in the pit of my stomach happened , it was like a surge of something.

I wasn’t even sure what was happening or where it came from , it wasn’t the magic I usually felt when we did any sort of magic. But Yianna’s body flung back against the wall. Her face was fearful and full of shock as her body was pinned to the wall of the cave. I saw her pull the remote out of her hand and I felt a smirk start to grace my lips. ” You killed your friends you i***t ” she shouted , her voice sounding strained. She pulled the remote up and pressed the button. Her eyes went to them and she pressed them again and again. Anger swamped her as she realised it wasn’t working. Looking at them, I saw them all breathe a sigh of relief. For a minute, there the world must have stopped for them , not knowing I had deactivated them.

” Get out of here ” I said to them , hoping Willow would take them out of here. ” Not without you ” Willow said , pulling the thing off of her neck that she must have used magic to get off. She threw it across the floor. ” Go , I will follow you all ” I told them , but they all looked at me like not one of them would. Frustrated , I pulled on the power I felt in my stomach and waved my hand at them. The alpha went to shout something, seeing what I was about to do , but it was too late. They had all gone.

Looking back at Yianna , I narrowed my eyes. But she was smiling at me like a lunatic. Unbothered that I had sent them away. ” Now isn’t that a surprise ” she laughed. ” What are you so happy about , another one of your plans just failed ” I snapped at her. ” Or it just got better ” she said, sounding pleased. I wished I could inflict pain on her right now , and with just that thought. I felt something else in my stomach surge and she started writhing against the wall screaming, her head thrown back. I looked at my hands, wondering what the hell was happening.

Pulling my hands back , she dropped to the floor with a sickening thud. When she went to get herself up , I held my hands out again. ” Stay still ” I told her , her body froze , but her head looked up at me. ” Looks like I have been missing out, those dogs in your stomach hold more of a prize than Sianna ever did ” she smiles saditically. In shock at her words, my hands went to my stomach. Was that the babies ? In my shock, I had taken my eyes off Yianna, to look down at my stomach. Her glee was the fact that my babies were powerful , she had just stumbled on another jackpot and it was my fault.

With a raging feeling of protection I had never felt before , like a deep routed need to protect something I hadn’t even met yet. I looked up ready to kill her , end her for good and keep her away from my pups. But what greeted me made me fill with dread. The cave was empty , she was nowhere to be seen. I span around and around , looking for her, hoping , no daring her to pop back up right now. But she didn’t. She had gone. Once again, I had missed the chance to kill her. When my third chance came, she wouldn’t get the chance. I wouldn’t hesitate or flinch. I have the most precious thing in the world to protect now. I had only known of them mere minutes and it just made me realize how a mother should feel towards her kids, and it wasn’t the way mine had acted.
