Tensions were high. Ryken and Rhiala were doing everything in their power to try and calm their brother Raan down. My mother was in hysterics, as well as my sister. And I felt like my head was going to explode. I was really trying to keep level headed. Remembering my training. I knew that becoming a raging irrational bull right now wouldn’t help us. But it was f*****g hard. Anthea was blaming me , just like the moon goddess said she would. I was trying to think about our options , what to do. But with everyone shouting suggestions at me in their hysteria, it wasn’t helping.

” How can we know where they are but not just go and get them ” Raan said for the fifth time. Ryken had his hand on his brother’s chest , he had no one to take his anger out on right now but me. He sees me as an obstacle. One of the other male dragons stood at the other side of him , his hand on his chest too, keeping him back. I couldn’t even think straight enough to remember his name right now. Devon was standing protectively at my side. Seeing Raan’s anger towards me. In all honesty, I didn’t give a s**t if he would come at me right now. At least then I could get this anger I was keeping back out.

” Like I have said , your mate , my dad , Samuels mate, they all have f*****g bombs around their necks. Anthea uses magic , she pulls the trigger on one of them. Who’s to say if we show up she won’t do the same ? Are you willing to take the risk that it will be your mate she chooses ? Or all of them ? Look, my mate is in there too , so chill the f**k out and contribute ideas that will actually f*****g work or get out “. I spit at him. He was on my land and this was my pack. I wasn’t about to let him think he could undermine me or speak to me that way. I didn’t even want him to show any sort of submission towards me , just an ounce of respect we were all going through this, not just him.

He glares at me and I glare right back. Eventually, he huffs and looks away. ” Sorry ” he mutters under his breath. Ryken taps his chest , and nods at his brother. Before dropping his hand off of his chest, “So what about the council ? Should they not be able to intervene here ? ” I shook my head at the pack’s lead warrior who we brought in for the meeting. He was in charge of all the other warriors . Ryken answers him ” The council are corrupt. Firya, her sister had been living with the council for years. She had them on strings like puppets. I was visiting the council when she captured me. Who knows if her spells still hold with them ” he explained.

I rubbed my temples in frustration , standing up, I banged my fist on the table. “This b***h is one f*****g woman , against all of us. She keeps f*****g out smarting us ” I shouted, at no one in particular. ” Can’t you speak to the moon goddess , maybe she could help “, Devon suggested. ” It is not like I have her on speed dial. She only came before to protect Anthea and Sianna. It struck me like a bolt of lightning. s**t . Whirling to face them all, I had an idea , but how could I share it with them? Anthea said she was watching.

” What ?” Ryken asked, seeing my expression. I need a safe space. I looked at Violet and Shira . ” Is there any way we can make this room where prying eyes or ears can not see ? ” Shira and Violet looked at each other.” We could do the same spell as the houses , but if she is already in here then we are screwed ” Violet said to her. ” Or there is that spell , that I use with Anthea to speak with Sianna , she showed it me years ago , it is to link minds. Like wolves linked in a pack. But then we run the risk of her trying to compulsion someone else to find out what was being said through the link ” Shira suggested. Violet shook her head. ” My mother’s dark coven used to wear pendants to stop such things. I never wore one or Rion because it meant to meddle in dark magic. And we never thought we would need it. I know the spell for that , but it would mean me tapping into it. There was another reason that I don’t use it , more than what we told. Our parents are still alive. We ran to protect me. Rion wasn’t born with it , but like we said before, if I use it , well it can consume me and make me as evil as they are. I have slightly tapped into it to help and that is fine. But to create these pendants I would need to really tap into them. If I do, I run the risk of my coven finding me. If they find me, they will do everything they can to get me back. A coven shares their abilities and my abilities are strong. But they use it for reasons I do not approve, ” she said .

“Then we will not ask you to do that ” I told her , but she shook her head. ” No I want to , she killed my brother. Anyway, that I could possibly help, I will ” she said, determined. But Devon jumped in. ” No , not if that then puts you in danger ” he told her. But she just looked at him. ” I am doing this , no questions. I create the pendants, then we all wear them. Then we create the link. I should have done this a long time ago. Maybe if I did , my brother would still be here. We never would have had our minds and bodies taken over by them. If my family come , I will deal with it then ” she said confidently.

Devon was about to say something else but the look she gave him told him to object if he dared. I wasn’t sure what was going off between those two now , but at least they were communicating. ” What do we need for the pendants ? ” I asked her. She licked her lips , and looked around the room. ” I need an item of jewelry or something you can wear. Then I need the earth and I need some things; an animal sacrifice, the earth I need , it needs to be where you bury your dead and I need someone to give me b***d to bind all of the magic to them. It won’t do anything to whoever it is , it just ties the pendant’s life span to whose b***d we use life span “to everyone’s confused and kind of disturbed looks. She shrugs, ” dark magic isn’t pretty , it pulls off negative energy, like death ” she explained.

“OK , someone go get some jewelry, let’s just get this done. And then what we will do is make sure Violet stays hidden from her parents after all of this. Lets deal with one crazy person at a time ” our lead warrior ran out of the room. And I sat down and rubbed my temples. Trying my hardest to reach out to Anthea. The moon goddess said whenever we were talking about this she would shield our thoughts. I wasn’t about to test whether that went out to everyone, so it looked like dark voodoo pendants were the way forward.

Once we had all we needed, I showed her where our cemetery was. She placed all the jewelry in a bowl, then pulled out a big knife. She looked up at us all expectantly. ” This is where someone offers their b***d” she smiled awkwardly. Without thinking, I thrust out my hand. She smiled at me gratefully and then I felt the sting of the blade, and the warmth as my b***d dripped from my hand into the bowl. The next thing, she held her hand out and Devon handed her a wild rabbit he had caught from the woods. I couldn’t help but look at the rabbit and think how foolish it was for that rabbit to come close to a pack of wolves. I mean, shouldn’t it sense the danger ?

Violet made the sacrifice and then I watched in some sort of fascination as her eyes rolled back and the whole of her eyes turned black. Her words came out fast , almost like gibberish. The bowl lit up in flames , and strong gushes of wind blew past us all watching. When she finished her gibberish , the flame in the bowl died out and her eyes turned back to their normal colour. She looked up at us with a saddened look on her face. ” Violet , are you OK ? ” Devon asked her. Everyone seemed to hold their breath. Violet had always said that tapping into this could consume her. She looked down and took a deep breath, looking at her hands. Before, she rubbed them on the cloth on her legs. ” Yea, I’m , I’m fine. Lets all get one and then we can cast the spell to link us all “, she looked up, trying to smile.

” I can try to do that spell on myself ” Shira offered, looking worried. Violet shook her head. ” No , no, I’m fine. I can do it without using dark magic. I’ll be fine , we need to make sure it works ” she said. ” Yea, but maybe you should just, ” Devon tried. But Violet shook her head and stood up. ” I said i am doing it , just stop fussing ” she said, bending back down and picking the bowl up. She started handing out the jewelry.

Her and Shira did the spell , and then we tested it out. All of us are able to hear each other in our minds like with the wolf links. ” So come on then , what have we done all of this for ?” Ryken asked through the link. I tried to get it straight in my mind. Get everything the moon goddess had said in my mind right. ” This idea , it was something the moon goddess said. I’m not actually sure this will work. But it was what she said about Anthea. About having all of the magic from the goddess , and then add in the magic and the power that the babies have” I said and Shira butted in. ” Babies ? “she asked. s**t , I hadn’t told everyone that. ” I’ll explain , just. Wait , she said’ if anthea kept all of that magic and the babies powers. Then it would be like a volcano. Too much power for someone to handle ‘. Yianna already has a lot of peoples as well as her own. What if we over power her? What if we give her everyones. What if I get the moon goddess to actually give it her , as well as yours and Antheas , give it her all”. I threw it out there. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. It was so quiet you could hear the trees rustling.

I sighed a breath of relief when a voice I had been starstruck at hearing the first time I had. ” Now you have a good idea ” she said. I looked around and so did everyone else. ” I can not appear , but I am near. I will help my children anyway I can. If you choose this plan, you need Anthea back. Draw Yianna here ” her voice faded off. I smiled at everyones shocked faces. And for the first time since all this started we had a plan , a real plan on getting rid of her. ” Dad tell Anthea I need to speak to her. ” I linked my father and hoped she would listen.
