Rejected, My Jaded Love -
Episode 22
I hear a knock on my door and head to answer it, I have a towel wrapped around me and a towel drying my hair on top of my head. Nicole and Jessica walk into my room and tell me that they are here to help me get ready for tonight because they want me to shine as well. They both had totes with them, one with makeup and the other with curling irons, flat irons, mousse, hair spray, and even sprays to shield my hair from heat. They already had their hair and makeup done they would just have to go get dressed after they were done with me.
I tell them “I don’t really need all this”.
Nicole says, “Yes, you do. You are wearing an evening gown, so yes, you need to have on makeup and have your hair done”.
I just give up as I know I can’t win this battle, and just sit down in the vanity chair in the bathroom and let them work their magic on me. The event is supposed to start at 5, and then we would have a buffet after the event. I am looking forward to seeing my brothers, bonus mom, and my dad tonight and am glad that Luna Monica thought to invite them to the event when she called my dad. She had told me that she gave them the heads up yesterday, so they could bring their suits and a dress for Luna Joy to wear tonight. I hope I get to spend some time with them tonight.
At 430 they announced that they were finished and stepped back so I could turn around and see what they had done. Jessica had made my eyes really stand out and I had a neutral l*p color, so my bold eyes were the focal point of my face. Nicole had pulled my hair up in a high ponytail making my face and neck look more delicate, with waves put in the tail. It was an elegant look, and I thought I am looked the best that I ever have. I was going to look stunning tonight. They stepped out to go put their dresses on and told me to get ready and they would come back and zip me up in my dress. I applied lotion to my legs, as I had shaved for tonight, and then put my new strapless bra and matching underwear set on. It was like the girls knew I was going to have a strapless dress for the ceremony when we went shopping earlier today. I got my new heels out and put them at the end of the bed on the floor and went to remove my dress from the dress bag.
I heard something hit the floor and look down to see a small box on the floor. I open the box to see a small white gold necklace about 18 inches long, with a diamond-encrusted circle towards the bottom of the necklace at the lariat, and just below the diamond circle, two jade teardrops fall below the circle at an inch and an inch and a half. It is a beautiful necklace and I wonder how it got in my bag. I put it on as it is beautiful and I want to wear it, but just in case it was put in my bag by mistake I want to have it with me to give it back to its owner, and I will be seeing Nicole, Jessica, and Bree in just a moment, so I can return it to whoever it belongs to then.
At 440 pm I hear a knock at my door and let Jessica and Nicole into my room. I showed them the necklace and ask, “Did either of you buy this? It was accidentally put into my bag, and it fell out when I got my dress out”.
They both said that it didn’t belong to them but was close to my eye color and that I should wear it tonight. I told them that I would wear it to the ceremony, as it probably belonged to Bree since it wasn’t ours, and I will give it to her then. I told them I would just wear it down as I don’t have any pockets on my gown, and I don’t have a clutch to put it in. They get me zipped up and we go into the hallway to go downstairs together with Aubrey and Bryan for the Gamma Ceremony. I am glad to say that the dress is totally comfortable and a perfect fit now. I guess all the running around that I did in wolf form this afternoon helped me to burn some extra calories and probably helped me to lose some more weight. Bryan looks great in his suit and Aubrey looks beautiful in her baby blue floor-length evening dress. They make a handsome couple. We all enter the elevator to go downstairs to get in our assigned seats before they start the ceremony.
Bryan and Aubrey exit the elevator first and we head for the ballroom on the second floor. It is basically the whole floor with 8-foot-wide balconies at about every twenty-five to thirty feet so people can step out when they get overheated or have a place for a private conversation. It matches the balconies on the other floors, so the building is symmetrical and uniform as you look at it. There is a bar at the far end of the stage, and a large floor for dancing, or can be used to serve about 300 people in a seated event. There are 3 large chandeliers in the ceiling. The one in the middle is the largest one with the other the two flanking it smaller versions of it but they are the same classic shape and they cast the room in a lovely glow.
Everyone is dressed in evening attire, and they all look great. A rainbow of colors is showing in the ballroom, with the ladies in their evening gowns.
I follow Bryan and Aubrey, up to the front row and sit on the 4th seat down so Nicole can sit next to her parents and Jessica next to me. I am a little nervous right now, Jessica will not be joining us on stage tonight, as she is a human. Jessica cannot join unless she marries into the pack, but Alpha Andrew had left instructions for her to be left alone and to be considered under the Gammas protection as a “bonus daughter”.
I look over to see Bree and Dixon sitting across the aisle from us and wave over to them. Alpha Andrew and Luna Monica are already on the stage and are about to start the ceremony in a few minutes.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and look behind me to see my father Alpha Harris, Luna Joy, and my brothers Tyler and Tate coming up to sit on the row behind us. I was glad that they were able to come to the ceremony and that my father was kind enough to even allow me to stay here, just for me to feel safe. I know that I would be safe at their pack as well, but I love Alpha Andrew and Luna Monica and their children. I love Mason and Brax too, and I trust them to get me trained properly. It seemed like I have known them all for a lot longer. but it had only really been a little over 24 hours. They have literally done so much for me in this short amount of time, way more than my old pack had ever done in 17 and a half years of me being there. I was certain that the Moon Goddess wanted me here for a reason, and I was not willing to leave voluntarily. Ivory was right, my life has changed and in the very best way possible, I don’t know how she knew. But I am so glad that she was correct.
The ceremony went smoothly, and Bryan was now Gamma of the Stone Moon pack. I know he will do a great job. We get in line to get our food, as the ballroom is set up from the ceremony to the tables being set up for dining. There are about 15 people getting the tables put out, in five sets of a 3-man team. Two teams setting up the tables and chairs and the other team setting tables, and they are moving quickly. No one is having to wait for a seat. I decide to sit with my father, Luna Joy, and brothers at their table so I can talk to them more as I know that they are leaving tomorrow.
