Episode 78

Jade’s Perspective

Bree and I come down for dinner with everyone already seated at the table. We had added extra chairs and put another table up to the original table for the extra visitors we have with us, as we wanted to continue on with our Spring Vacation here. Bree, Jessica, Nicole, and I had spent today in training and then laying out by the pool. We still have a couple of days together. The guys had also done training and then threw the football around for about an hour with some of the warriors, before going into the packhouse to shower and then have a meeting in Dad’s office.

“We will be leaving at 3 in the morning with about 250 of our warriors, and 20 of the marksmen that Tate trained.” I heard Tyler telling mom as I approached the table.

“You are going tomorrow?” I asked him.

“Yes, best to take care of it right now before they find out that this is where Calvin went, we will catch them more unaware if we go tomorrow. We will be stopping at Stone Moon and picking up another 100 warriors as well, as Asher, and then heading to the Howling Wolf pack” Tyler tells us.

My head pops up from looking at the table and I look at Tyler and asked, “I thought that dad said that Asher was going to be staying with his pack?”

“Do you not think he is capable of fighting?” Tyler asks me.

“I don’t know,” I say, “I have never seen him fight. I had just heard that he was staying at Stone Moon. I don’t want any of you getting hurt over defending me” I say to him.

“Well, one person is already getting hurt, because Ashley is in one of the cells right now at Stone Moon and is scheduled to be put to death by Asher himself when we return from taking care of the Howling Wolf pack,” Tyler tells us.

“I thought that he was just going to banish her?” Dixon says.

“He was, but she lost her mind and said that when she leaves the pack in her banishment, she would be hunting Jade down to wherever she was hiding and kill her if Eric didn’t already have Jade in his possession. So, Asher changed her fate for her. She was taken to the cells, and her family packed and was escorted off of pack-lands. He was not going to give her an opportunity to hurt Jade. He also made sure that Brittany knew that her sister had played her and got her to harass an innocent person” Tyler tells us.

“He told Brittany that Jade was the innocent one in this and that Ashley was the one who was the aggressor?” Bree asked Tyler.

“Yes, he made sure that Brittany knew Ashley has set her up, and that Ashley was the one who had kept pushing even after being Alpha Commanded to stop and leave both him and Jade alone and she continued to harass including setting Jade up to be kidnapped and held against her will. The Conner know that Ashley alone was the reason that they had been banished. They were all angry with Ashley, not Jade. Especially, Brittany, she was furious at having been tricked into bullying you, and Ashley felt no remorse at all for tricking her into doing that when you were innocent of what happened. Asher told Brittany Ashley had actually flipped what had happened and that you were the victim in it” Tyler told the whole group.

“Why would he kill her when he took her side over mine?” I ask quietly.

“Jade, when you are an Alpha, you have to be careful and cover yourself so when you do dole out punishments, that they cannot be overturned by the Council and then bad people be allowed to return back into your pack. It is something that I have taught Tyler, and you learn at Alpha Training as well. It protects you from disgruntled and angry people being allowed to come back into your pack. Because if they do come back, they usually start causing problems and issues within your pack. You have to make sure that the punishment is upheld so you prevent that from happening, people can be very problematic when they are angry. It looks to me like Asher was actually trying to protect you, that is why he didn’t want you to go, he was terrified that something was going to happen to you, at the hands of Eric and Kyle. As the only mated person besides Joy, and yourself, I feel like I should tell you this on Asher’s behalf. I would die for your mom, it would kill me if something happened to her, and I wouldn’t be able to operate without her. It could even drive me mad if something terrible or violent happened to Joy. The bond only grows stronger with time. I feel like you could have been running on additional emotions as well you have had a lot happen to you in a short amount of time Jade. It will be a week ago tomorrow when you accepted the rejection. Let me ask you a question, since accepting the rejection from Calvin and finding your second chance mate the following day, have you passed out? or felt the pain of betrayal since finding Asher?” Dad paused to glance over at Calvin and nodded at him before reaching over and gently taking Joy’s hand and starting to rub the back of it with his thumb. He continued, “Even though it was something that he was pressured into doing, he still rejected you. I know why he did it, that girlfriend of his had threatened to hurt you, but that bond is broken. He slept with that awful girl, and she knew it would cause you pain, even if Calvin didn’t. The Goddess had already given you your second chance mate. That means that you were made for him, there IS a reason for it. I hate to say it, but she may have given you Calvin just for you to get out of that pack safely and get you where you needed to be, to Stone Moon and find your second chance mate. I know that Asher has made some bad choices, but honey we all have. I did baby girl, but I wouldn’t change it because it ended up with me having you in my life. I found Joy, and she is my mate, but WE would have taken you and raised you here if Hillary had only let us know that you existed. I know now that Hillary had died, and that is why you ended up in such a bad situation, I would do anything in my power to have changed what you went through. You are his mate, and he is dealing with the same feeling and emotions. Just like you don’t want him hurt, he didn’t want you to be hurt. I know on top of that Asher was also dealing with the fear of losing you, or something happening to you when you went to watch Ashley meet up with Eric and Kyle. Alphas are naturally very possessive of their mates, and he is having to really deal with that, especially now that he knows that you are here with us, and Calvin is here. He was dealing with jealousy because Calvin swooped in to be the hero, that he wanted to be for you, but Calvin ended up being to one to warn you and that information kept you safe. Asher was also dealing with shame and frustration as he was trying to show you that he had made changes and was not the same person anymore and every time he got a little headway in it, Ashley popped up and ruined it for him by kissing him on the boat, when she showing up in his room naked to seduce him, or by telling you that she was pregnant with his child. I understand why he was so frustrated, he kept trying to show you he was the man you need in your life and other factors kept popping up and pointing out all his previous mistakes. We Alphas are proud men who demand respect from everyone, but our mates, because they are our equals, and we love them with our whole heart. I have spoken to both Alpha Andrew and Luna Monica and they have both mentioned that they can see the changes and believe me when I say they are not just saying that to help Asher out. They have been waiting on him to change and they realize that he is now doing it, for you. He is really hurting without you, but every move he has made is to be the man he knows you need him to be. I will not push you to do it, but I would hope that you love him enough to wait for him and be watchful, to look for and see the changes that he makes, you haven’t felt that familiar pain right? You know he has not been with anyone else when he clearly was before. Give him time baby, to show you that he is invested in this relationship and that he loves you. His heart is as broken as I see that yours is too. Do this for you both, give him time to make the changes that he needs to, to both prove himself to you, to himself, his family, and your family, that he is the man that he was before he went to Alpha Training” dad says to me.

I see the whole table looking at me, most with smiles on their face and a sad frown on Calvin’s handsome face. I realize that other than the initial pain of rejection and then the pain when he slept with Sophia, I have never felt the strong pull to Calvin like I do with Asher. I suddenly realize that I hadn’t given him a fair chance like I said that I would, and I need to speak to him. I will call him tonight and I will let him know that I love him and want to be with him, and I will give him time to make his changes and maybe come every other weekend to visit with him, and he can come with Bree and Dixon to come here if he wants to. I will ask him when I talk to him tonight. I am so glad that he really is making changes to be with me.
