Jade’s Perspective

I am so excited to get out today and go shopping with the ladies that I love so much. Mason and Braxton are right behind us in Mason’s truck, but I really don’t think that they were necessary though. I don’t think that we won’t be safe shopping on our own. I knew that Luna Monica and mom had been talking a lot this last week and making plans for the Luna Ceremony for me, I really didn’t care about the decorations or the planning part of it, but Luna Monica told me that soon this would be my responsibility to handle for the pack, and I want to do my best, so I paid attention and took notes. Luna Monica would give me other tips as she remembered them as she was doing other things.

We pull up at a bridal shop called “Where Dreams are Made” and I look around to see what store we will be going to, but I don’t see one, and mom and Luna Monica head for the doors of the bridal shop. The closed sign is up even though it is 10 and they should be open, but I see a lady appear at the door and unlock it for us and after everyone entered, she locked the door again. Braxton and Mason go to find seats near the door and the assistants brought in extra chairs from the back, so everyone has a seat.

Luna Monica hugs the woman that let us in and advises that it is a friend and pack member, and she made sure that all the assistants today were also werewolves too. The woman is introduced as being Wendy Carter and you could tell how excited she was to be helping us.

“It has been a long time since we had an actual wedding in the pack, most just mate and mark, but I am so glad that we are getting the opportunity to be able to serve the next Luna today,” Wendy says to the group and heads off to get her measuring tape and notebook.

I look over at mom and Luna Monica and they are almost vibrating with excitement. “Um, I thought that we were just going shopping for a Luna Ceremony dress. I only got a couple hundred out of my account to get the dress. I didn’t bring my debit card dad gave me as I keep it locked up in the fire safe under my bed, so it won’t be stolen at school, and I won’t waste my money on frivolous things” I tell them.

“No baby, this is your father’s and my pleasure to get you’re a wedding dress. I never thought that I would be blessed to be in this moment when we couldn’t have any more children, I had to give up my hope for ever having a daughter. Then we got blessed with you, and I couldn’t be happier that I would be having this experience of being here and helping you pick out a wedding dress. When you let me and Luna Monica know that you were going to accept Asher after your graduation, we kind of changed the Luna Ceremony plans to a Wedding with a Luna Ceremony included, we are splitting the costs among all of us. Except for this dress, your father and I wanted to get you your dress baby. Your father is so excited to be able to get to walk you down the aisle, that is something that he never thought he would be able to do. He dreamed of having a daughter as well, and with only having boys we thought that it just wasn’t meant to be. Now he will be able to live his dream and I will be able to help you pick your dress out. I know I will probably be crying all day with how happy I am. The thing that I am most happy about was that it was Asher’s idea to do this, to claim you are his in every single way, and I am so thankful for the Goddess’s choice in a mate for you” Joy is wiping tears from her eyes as she stops talking and I have to go to her and bring her into a tight hug. She had brought me to tears telling me about her and dad’s dream to have a daughter to love and making plans for the future with. I tear up more thinking of dad walking me down the aisle to Asher and this day has just gotten even better.

“I agree with you, I am so proud of Asher and the changes that he has made since he met Jade. He is once again the man I knew before he went to Alpha Training. I never realized how much pressure he was putting on himself to try to be the best at everything. I wish he would have talked with us, we never expected him to excel at everything. No one can, you just do the best job you can, that is all we asked of him. He never said anything to us about what he felt. I am so glad that he has Jade, he is so much stronger now with her as a mate. I know he loves her so much and I know he will take care of her. I am proud he decided to make her his wife as well. They had a really rocky start, and I was scared that he had ruined it, I am glad Jade has such a big heart to give him another chance. I am so excited about this wedding, I know I am babbling on but I am so excited that we are able to do this” Luna Monica said to me and then starts telling me, “You need to think about the colors for the bridesmaid’s dresses while the girls go to look at the dresses to decide which one of them will look best on them all, or you can decide on the color and they can each have different dresses so they can pick the one that is best for their body type, but the same color, if that is what you want, it is up to you”.

“I am ok with them each having a dress that looks best on them. Teal is my favorite color so if we can find a light teal, I think everyone will look good in that. What do you girls think?” I asked them.

“I like teal, and I think that we will all look good in it,” Bree says, and Jessica nods her head in agreement as they both head over to the bridesmaid’s dresses.

“I agree, we will all look good in teal,” Nicole says and heads off to look at the dresses with Bree and Jessica.

“As soon as we pick the exact shade of teal, I will call over to the other store and let the manager there know what color to get the pocket squares to match for the men. We will also keep the pocket squares that were coming with the suits for the next time they wear them” Luna Monica advised.

I look around the store with Luna Monica and mom trying to figure out what dress I wanted. I had never even thought about it since my body shape had changed, my options had too. I caught a glimpse at a beautiful mermaid-style dress at the end of a rack and walked over to it to look at it. It was a graphic lace mermaid with delicate straps at the top and an open back. The bottom was stunning as well at how it came out just over my knees and had a beautiful train behind it. I was in love with it. My mom stepped up behind me and said, “Excellent choice, Jade” and waved Wendy over for me to try it on.

I am super excited to try this dress on and pray that it fits me as I want this dress so much. Wendy helps me into the dress and thankfully I do not need a bra for it, I look at my reflection and start crying. This is it. I cannot believe that the first one I tried on was the winner. My mom hears me crying and asks what was wrong, and I hear Luna Monica coming my way too. I step out of the changing room and my mom bursts into tears.

“That is the dress, baby, that IS the dress,” she says to me.

“I agree, you look absolutely stunning, Jade,” Luna Monica tells me.

The girls walk up and all start squealing and talking at the same time. I see Braxton and Mason walk up to see what everyone was excited about, they look at me with both of their eyes opening in surprise before they both nod in agreement. Braxton tells me “That is the one” and then winks at me before he heads back to his chair with Mason. Mom and Luna Monica help me pick out my shoes and my veil and I am done and watch everyone else pick their dresses out and get the adjustments noted for them. I lucked out on mine because it was like it had been made for me, it fits me like a glove and had no gaps at the top, I am still so surprised that it fit me as well as it did. But I completely love it and I am so excited to wear it and for Asher to see me in it.
