Rejected, My Jaded Love -
Episode 97
Asher’s Perspective
I cannot wait for the graduation to be over with. This ring is burning a hole in my pocket, and I am literally just ready to go with it. I am nervous but excited to claim my bride at the same time. Jade’s family is well aware that I will be proposing as I had them meet me to go shop for her ring, and Joy knew her ring size and her taste. The only anxiety I had was when her dad looked like he wouldn’t be giving me his blessing, right before bursting into laughter and telling me yes, I could marry his daughter. He also pointed out that he was totally okay with me just marking and mating her as we were true mates, but I told him that I wanted every man that sees her; wolf, or human, to know that she was off-limits to them from now on. That made both of her parents smile and agree that she would probably love that idea too.
Tyler and Tate though took me aside and told me in no uncertain terms that I was to be loving and faithful to their sister, or there WOULD be consequences. I let them know that they didn’t need to worry, I am a changed man. I had even given up my apartment about a week after I had returned from Spring break as a human who had been to my apartment once before, showed back up for another round. I cannot afford for any girls to even think that they had a shot with me. So, I left my apartment behind and moved back into the packhouse so I could see Jade more often and it was the best decision I have ever made. It is only 30 minutes to school, and I only got the apartment so I could do what I wanted to, and now I only see Jade, and want no one else.
The ring is beautiful and is a round-cut 1.5-carat solitaire, with smaller diamonds on either side of it. I had already decided to get her two wedding bands one for either side of her engagement ring. They were going to be made especially for her with the paler jade stones that remind me of her eyes. When I asked the jeweler to make the wedding bands special for Jade and mentioned why I wanted it like that to him, I heard Joy make a small sobbing sound and knew that it was the perfect idea for Jade’s wedding bands. I knew then that I had made a great decision and that Jade would love it too, and her dad and brothers agreed as well smiling at me.
After graduation, I was ready to go and her parents knew, but mine didn’t yet. I asked Mason to record it on his cell phone to commemorate the event and us to be able to post it on social media. I approached Jade with our families, and everyone starts hugging and congratulation the girls. I see that Jade’s brothers are now running interference for me so I can get in there and have the gap I need to get down on one knee, so I glance over at Mason and nod so he can start recording before I do it.
I step up to Jade and hug her tight and tell her I am so proud of her before dropping down to one knee, “Jade, I love you so much. Please do me the honor of becoming my wife, and the soon-to-be Luna of the Stone Moon pack?” I say to her. I hear gasping coming from all around the group and I know my mom and sister have probably stopped breathing to wait for Jade’s response.
“yes”, Jade says “Yes, I would love to be your wife and one day the Luna of the Stone Moon pack. Everyone erupts in cheers around us, and I can’t help but notice that Joy and my mom are smirking at each other and wondering what they have planned for me and Jade. I didn’t have to wait long to find out.
The next morning when I enter the dining room all I hear are excited squeals coming from the girls and my mom, Joy, and Nicole’s mom Aubrey smiling at them.
“What’s up?” I ask them as I move past them to k**s my bride-to-be.
“Nothing, just excited about going shopping today” my mom responds to me.
“Are you all going shopping?” I ask her.
“Yes, but don’t worry we will take two vehicles and mason and Braxton are coming with us, so we will all be safe. You should go to get a new suit for Luna’s Ceremony next weekend anyway. You can go with your father, Dixon, and Alpha Harris and boys as they are all getting new suits too. Braxton and Mason already went and got theirs measured and paid for earlier this week, so they could come with us, as we knew you would worry about Jade and us out shopping” my mother tells me.
“Mom, my suit is like 2 years old, it fits just fine. I don’t need a new one” I tell her.
My mom stops walking and turns back around to look at me and says, “You, ARE going to go with your father and soon-to-be in-laws and get a new suit. You have actually gotten bigger with your Alpha Training, and I want you to look your best. We will be taking lots of pictures for the Luna Ceremony, and I want you to look your very best as I want to get a picture put in the office of you two like we have one of us for my Luna ceremony. I am sure if you tried on your old suit that it would not fit properly. So please just do as I ask of you and get ready to go. I already booked your appointments for you when I made ours. I know that you will miss her, but we will all be back in in a few hours”.
We all load up and go to go get fitted with Dad, Uncle Bryan, Alpha Harris loading up in dad’s truck, and me driving Dixon, Tyler, and Tate to the store in my car. We get done in like 3 hours so since we were out, and since they were telling us that they were still busy, we went out to lunch as well. I also stopped and picked up Jade’s special wedding bands as well, which Dixon loved. I remembered that he had gone out of his way to give Jade a special birthday gift when she first arrived after her birthday was ruined. I had to stop and thank him for doing that and give him a hug when he commented on the meaning of the jade stone as a symbol of harmony, infinity, and protection. He had done that because he loved Jade from inception and was her protector before I clued in how special she was to me. I am so glad that my brother was there to step up and be there for Jade when I wasn’t. I didn’t even know until today that his gift was the first present that she had been given for her birthday. I am so glad that my parents, Dixon, and Bree love her so much and have both gone out of their way to love, support, and protect her. It makes me happy to have my family love my mate so much and accepted her from the start. I love that Jade’s family love and trust in me too, I don’t think that I have ever been this happy and it is all because the Goddess blessed me with Jade. I will do whatever it takes to make and keep her happy.
I am glad Mason and Braxton are with mom, Luna Joy, and the girls because mom was right when she assumed that I would be worried about them. I was, and I was probably starting to get on Mason’s nerves with me checking on them every 30 minutes to see when they would be coming home. I finally stop when Mason calls me and said, “Your mom said to stop texting, they all know who it is, and we will not be rushed. We will be back when we get back. She said the perfect dress is hard to find and when we find it, we will be done, and not a minute earlier. Your mom’s words, not mine, just give us some time, there are a lot of girls here finding their dress, as well as your mom, Luna Joy, and Gamma female Aubrey. Their stuff is apparently much more in-depth to get right than our stuff as we picked out our suit got measured and were done. This is taking a while but Braxton and I have this. Don’t worry about us, everything is fine. Goddess willing, we will be out of here in two more hours. Bye man, find something to do at the packhouse, maybe you could go help your dad with paperwork, there is always some of that to do” Mason tells me and then hangs up on me. I miss Jade, so I guess I will find something to do to pass the time.
