Rejected, Then Reborn -
Chapter 51
He was kissing her!
Okay, so it hadn’t happened exactly how she had thought it would, but hey, Anaya loved the way things had turned out even more.
He hadn’t asked her if he could claim her lips, instead, he had roughly claimed it like he owned it, and while he may not have called her beautiful like the mystery guy in her fantasies was supposed to, his hazel eyes had said it all,
I mean, at this point what was better than this?
The Lyken Princess leaned into him, her hands unconsciously wrapping around his neck, feeling his powerful muscles underneath his drenched shirt while her tongue played Clash of Clans with his, even as his own hands found her waist, tugging her even closer to him.
She m****d into his mouth, and he g*****d into hers, one of his hands leaving her waist and making its way into her hair and tugging like he had always dreamed of doing.
The pleasurable sigh she had let out at the action had been like music to his ears, and he had swallowed it all in, pulling away slightly to nibble on her bottom l*p.
f**k, she was perfect.
In that moment, Xavier didn’t even stop to think that they were in the outdoors, and that someone could barge in on them at any time, ruining their moment, while knowing their dirty little secret.
Want to know the funny thing? He didn’t even care.
Hell… he couldn’t even stop if he wanted to, all he knew was that he wanted more… So much more. If the good doctor was being really honest, the very fact of being engaged in something that forbidden… that scandalous seemed to add a whole new level of thrill to their little moment, one that sharpened things and made everything even more heightening and arousing.
This time, when thunder roared and boomed, Anaya was not scared, because she felt safe and secure in his arms, and why wouldn’t she?
Xavier was willing to risk facing her brother’s wrath if it meant they’d get the chance to explore what was between them.
Now wasn’t that something?
The only thing that had stopped their passionate k**s was Anaya shivering involuntarily in his arms.
It had had nothing to do with the torrential pour raining down on them and everything to do with him of course, but the Good Doctor would have none of it when he pulled away and she tried to explain it to him. “Come on, Naya, let’s get you inside now,” He had said, his tone leaving no room for argument, but the Princess had only pulled away mischievously and dashed off into the rain instead, and he had chased after her, both of them giggling like a bunch of silly teenagers as they relished in their newfound relationship.
He had swept her over his shoulder when he finally caught her this time, landing a hard smack against her bum that had her gasping with surprise and pleasure instead of the pain he had been expecting, and then he had taken her to one of the animal sheds to seek shelter since they were so far away from the Castle now.
Everyone was lost in silence when they made it to the empty shed, but this was a comfortable kind of silence, each party stuck wondering what was going to happen next.
Another crack of lighting illuminated the not so bright shed, followed by a crash of thunder so terrifying that this time the little princess let out a little horrified squeak.
“If they frighten you so much, why were you running under it then?” Xavier asked, throwing an arm around her even as he chuckled in amusement.
“I really don’t know… I guess despite all of that terrifying part, I still love rain nonetheless. You know, all of that warm wet smell when it first touches the earth and all of that heat goes up into the skies… the chill, sitting by the window watching it pour while having a good book to read…” She shivered slightly, and then to her chagrin, the good doctor began to shrug out of his shirt, “Wha—what are you doing?”
But he ignored her, completely taking off his shirt. He wrung it dry, his bulky muscles flexing at the impromptu workout, suddenly leaving the Princess all hot and bothered, he looked up at her when he was finally done shooting her a sheepish grin. “This is not our best bet, Naya… but at least it’s a start to get you to stop shivering,” he said, helping her into the long-sleeved shirt, and pulling her in for a hug. “Wha—what are you doing?”
“Is that the only sentence your mind is capable of making?” He teased lightly, his chuckle shaking him and her too by extension, causing Anaya to blush a brilliant red, “Of course the shirt is not enough to get you warm, seeing as it’s still cold and all…” He explained, pulling away slightly to look down at her, “But luckily for you, that is where I come in with my body heat to do just that for you, so I guess you’re all good.” He pulled her to him again, and unable to think of a suitable comeback, Anaya just leaned into him and allowed herself to enjoy the moment, sighing deeply in contentment.
“This feels so perfect.” She heard him murmur softly. “I… I don’t know why I let my fear hold me back so much… we could have been feeling this contented two weeks ago if I’d just not let my thoughts get to me.” He sighed deeply, “But now, Reed doesn’t even matter, as soon as we leave here, I’m going to have a talk with him and ask for your hand—”
“Wait, wait, wait… what?” Anaya pulled away, her eyes wide in horror, “You—you want to go and tell Reed? You want to ask for my hand?!” Anaya had seriously not thought things through to that extent it seemed, and to hear the man she had been in love with for as long as she could remember jump to that decision that quickly and so soon was enough to really freak her out.
“You don’t want me to tell Reed?” His confusion was very much prominent on his face, for he had thought that she would be over the moon with joy at his plans, but apparently, she was unimpressed.
“I just think we should hold on a little bit, that’s all… uh, you know how protective Reed is of me, I can’t even begin to fathom what he’d do to you if you go to him with this—”
“I’m ready to take my chances with that.” He refuted her reasoning, but the Princess was still adamant. “No, Xavier. There’s also the fact that he had let Lacy go and is in a precarious situation right now…”
“What exactly do you want us to do now, Anaya…” He asked, a little anger seeping into his tone, “Because if you think I’m going to let you go now that I’ve finally allowed myself to come to terms with all of this, then you’re sorely mistaken, love.”
“Let’s see each other in secret then.” She blurted out the words in a rush. By then, the rain had reduced to a mere drizzle, a cool breeze sweeping into the thankfully empty animal shed.
“See each other in secret?” The Healer Supreme frowned, “Now, why do you think that idea will work? Or that I’ll agree to it?”
“Because Reed is my brother?” Why in f**k’s sake were they fighting all of a sudden? Anaya didn’t even understand, she expected him to see where she was coming from and be completely okay with it, why was he being so damn bull-headed about it?
“You forget that your brother is my best friend too, woman. I think I know him just as well as you do, if not more. He will be even more pissed off if we don’t tell him about it.”
“I just want us to do this in secret.” Anaya insisted stubbornly.
“And if I refuse?”
“Then we can both confidently agree that this isn’t going to work out.” Anaya raised her head haughtily at him, looking every bit like the annoying, spoilt princess he remembered and passionately hated. The rain had practically stopped at that point, only a few streaks of lighting and some thunder here and there.
“Very well, Princess,” He bowed slightly, stepping back, freakishly formal after all that had happened, “We can pretend as though none of this ever happened… you know, go back to the way our lives were. Have a good afternoon.”
Anaya watched him leave, her heart sinking in her chest, the only comfort she had being his shirt that he had left behind and his wonderful intoxicating scent that had still someway somehow lingered.
Of course, she had to go and ruin it, but was it her fault that she was catching cold feet so soon?
Hell, the Healer Supreme had only kissed her once, and he was already well on his way to making wedding plans, who knew what the f**k would be next?
He’d have s*x with her once, and then just decide to fill her belly with his seed?
Anaya’s lower belly clenched so hard at the thought of him thrusting into her, emptying all of the contents of his thick, hard c**k into her that she had to hold on to something to steady herself before she swooned.
She just didn’t understand the man though.
Her proposition was one that she was pretty sure any other man would have agreed to, no questions asked, no long back and forth involved. But this one just had to be stubborn, bound by some stupid notion of duty and wanting to do things right that he had actually turned her down, and Anaya had to admit, just as it had infuriated her, it impressed her even more.
But no.
This was certainly too fast.
All she had wanted was the fun and the thrill and the enjoyment. Someone to teach her all the ways of a wanton woman, no strings at all attached. Was that too much to ask for?
From what had just gone down a few minutes ago, it apparently was.
But Anaya wanted to be hopeful about it all, to have a little optimism that he’d come around eventually and see that her plan was a solid one. A good one.
She just hoped that he’d see that soon enough.
And so, with a heavy heart, and a slightly dazed head at all the exhilarating things that had just happened not too long ago, the Lyken Princess dragged her feet out of the animal shed and up to her room.
She was so grateful she didn’t bump into anyone along the way, because she seriously had no explanation to give for being drenched and wearing a man’s dress shirt over her clothes.
Another shiver ran through her, causing her to sigh deeply.
A hot, soaking bath really was in order if she did not want to catch a cold.
