“Reed.”

Her voice was soft and soothing, but someway somehow, her mate still woke up with a start, ready to fight.

“Whoa, whoa. It’s just me, my love,” Lacy said, reaching out to touch his arm gently. The Alpha King took a deep breath and looked around, realizing that they were back in the B***d Moon Castle, and that his mate was safe,

No form of darkness on the loose,

No sign of Lucius in sight!

He pounced on her pulling her on top of him even as he lay in his king-sized bed, wrapping his arms around her in a tight hug right before he captured her lips with his, dominating her in a k**s that he completely meant to be punishing.

“You stubborn vixen,” He murmured hoarsely against her lips, “What if Lucius had hurt you?”

She laughed, a melodious tinkle, “But he didn’t, Reed. I took care of him.”

“Did you kill him?” He asked, his voice still groggy from sleep.

Lacy noted the subtle way his jaw clenched, even as he appeared completely blank and relaxed, waiting for her answer.

“No. No, I didn’t kill him, but he’s gone for good, and he’s definitely not going to bother our lives again.” She answered, proceeding to tell him everything she saw, and what she had done as a result of it.

To say her mate was surprised at her wondrous tale would be an understatement, for truly, it was the first time she had seen the powerful Alpha King that stunned.

“Death was a mercy that fucker did not deserve.” He growled angrily, his voice one with Ace’s, the lyken beast having heard the entire conversation as well.

“I totally agree,” The Dark Witch slid off of him to lie beside him, “But at least his pack got to get the vengeance they deserved. It’s all over now.” She assured him, shooting him a bright smile, one that sent a wave of relief coursing through his veins.

She was safe.

Don’t get him wrong, he hadn’t doubted her strength or her power for one bit, but Lucius was a cunning man, and he knew that so long as his mate wanted to go against him, she was inadvertently in danger as a result of it.

But it was all over.

She had defeated him, and she hadn’t had to stoop to his level to do it.

Honestly, never had he been any more proud of her.

Something about that revelation had him relaxing some more into the soft fur of their shared bed.

But then he remembered that he owed her an apology and shot up with a start, “Lacy,” He took her hand, “I really want to apologise for keeping the letter a secret from you. I had no idea why I did it really, perhaps I guess it was because I always wanted you to view me in a good light. We were just starting to become cordial with each other then, and I was scared that something as callous as that would break off the bond that was starting to develop between us. But I know that it still does not justify my actions, and for that, I am terribly very sorry.”

Lacy leaned in and kissed him softly, her heart warm with love. She had long forgiven him, but it really felt nice to hear him visibly apologise once again. “You have my forgiveness, my love… it’s all water under the bridge.”

She snuggled deeper next to her mate, something about the way they only wanted to cuddle filling her with even more warmth than the always explosive l**t they shared.

While she was amazed that they hadn’t jumped each other’s bones yet, even she couldn’t deny that this was nice too.

And so, they lay there in silence for what seemed like ages, just listening to the sound of each other’s breaths and heartbeats.

“You know, it took me quite a while to wake you up, I was so scared I had made the wrong spell.” Lacy broke it.

“Really? But you hadn’t. I don’t think you did.” He assured her. “I’m awake now, aren’t I?” He smirked at her.

“Well yes, but you seemed to be struggling to wake up… I don’t know, perhaps I should check and make sure that everything is fine with you two,” She said, leaning over to press a soft k**s to his forehead, worry shining bright in her lush green eyes.

Reed sighed and closed his eyes. “Yeah, I was, but it’s not really anything to worry about, I was just having this wonderful, and yet strange dream. I’ve actually been having them a lot lately.” He confessed after a moment’s pause. “They feel so real, like they’re trying to tell me something.”

“Tell you what exactly?” Lacy asked, her brows furrowed in concern, “And why haven’t you told me about them?”

“I honestly don’t know why I haven’t told you yet, Lace,” The Alpha King admitted. “It’s like there’s a message buried deep within them, but I can’t quite grasp it. All I know is that I think they involve you.”

Lacy nodded understandingly, trying to put up a brave front even though she knew that she was freaking out on the inside.

What if he knew exactly what they were about and didn’t want to tell her because he didn’t want to hurt her? What if he didn’t want to tell her because it was something bad?

“Well, perhaps we can figure it out together,” She reached for his hand, squeezing slightly, “So, what are the dreams about?”

Reed hesitated, unsure if he wanted to share the strange visions that had been haunting him with his mate.

But he trusted her with his life, and he knew she would never judge him, or think him crazy.

“I keep dreaming about a white Lyken wolf, Lace” he said finally, his voice barely above a whisper.

“A white Lyken wolf?” Lacy repeated, surprised. “That’s a rare sight, even in your clan. You told me that, right?”

The Alpha King nodded.

“You also said Anaya’s wolf, Due, is the only one who came close, didn’t you?”

“I did.” He tiredly affirmed, “Which is why I have no idea who it is nor what it wants with me.”

Lacy took a deep breath, trying to remain calm for both their sakes. “Okay, what does it do in your dreams?”

“I don’t know, but it’s always just watching me, like it’s waiting for something. And there’s this voice, a woman’s voice, that speaks to me. She sounds like you, then she’s all distorted. I can see her mouth moving, but I can never quite make out what she’s saying.”

His mate nodded thoughtfully. “Does it sound something like this?” She tried the distorted voice she had used with Lucius, almost laughing when the powerful, ruthless king shot off the bed like he had burnt.

But this was a serious matter, one that was not funny in any way.

Reed nodded. “It’s exactly like that, which means you’re the one I’ve been dreaming of,” He pieced everything together, feeling relieved that together, they had at least solved a part of the puzzling dream.

“Yes, and I don’t know, but somehow, I think this wolf has something to do with this new order I plan on introducing. Call it a hunch or something,” His mate added, her words filling him with surprise, “A new order? What are you talking about, my love?”

She was excited, but somehow, she did not have it fully outlined yet, and she wanted it all set before she was ready to tell her handsome mate.

Lacy opened her mouth to tell him this, but Ace’s glowy eyes appeared in place of her mate’s and she instantly knew that he had something to say.

For starters, he was excited.

No one had ever seen Ace that excited.

“Can’t you two fools see? That’s your Lyken half, Lacy… the mother of my pups right there. Let’s unleash her, please. Please, please, please. Let us mark you, I need to see her!”

Reed forcefully took back control, “Sorry about that,” He apologized, “But I think he’s right, you know?” The Alpha King sighed deeply, “If he is, I do not know how long I can hold him back for, he’ll do everything in his power to turn you just so he can meet her. We both saw her, Lacy, and I’m not going to lie, she’s glorious. You both are glorious.” His eyes shone with awe and love,

“But I’ve told you before, and I totally mean it, Lace. We’re not going to force you to do something you’re not one hundred percent comfortable with, and so I need to be completely sure that you’re okay with this—”

“Mark me, Reed.” She cut him off, her chin set in determination.

“R—r—really?”

She laughed at his amazed sputtering, “Why is that so hard to believe? I’m totally in this, my love, and I want to be with you and Ace in every way possible. I don’t know why I should hold back anymore.”

Reed pounced on her, sweeping her off the bed, and twirling her round and round, his entire body alive with inexplicable joy and excitement.

He placed her down, kissing her softly, chastely, “You have just made me, (and Ace undoubtedly) the happiest creatures alive.”

But that was not what Lacy wanted in that moment.

She was aching for him.

She wanted him so bad it hurt.

She wanted to feel him deep inside her as his teeth closed in on her neck, right at the spot that would bear his mark for an eternity to come.

Lacy smirked seductively when she noticed his eyes start to darken. He had read her mind, and apparently, he wanted what she wanted too.

This time, there was no kissing… this was not the space nor the time for that, they were both too frenzied to bother themselves with that!

Reed roughly tore the baggy t-shirt she had changed into, Ace’s eyes replacing his as they both stared lustfully at her impressive t**s, sweeping down to take the rest of her in, a growl escaping their lips as they glared at the simple, pink cotton panties that barred her from them.

Lacy’s chest was heaving.

There was just something so empowering about knowing that in all forms, your mate still wanted you and you alone.

She flew into their arms, a sigh of contentment escaping her lips, as he claimed her delicious twin mounds, but before they could get right into it, Reed pulled away, completely pissed at the interruption, his hazed eyes a clear indication that he was being mind-linked.

Again.

Why did this always happen with them?

Something about the news quickly sobered him up though, leaving Lacy very curious and cautious and scared all at once. “What’s wrong?”

She hated that it reminded her of the summoning from the Council, but they were way past that.

She told herself that that was certainly not what this was about.

“Blue Valley Pack members are here, Lacy. The entire Pack,” He informed her, unable to believe it himself, “Apparently, they want an audience with me.”
