Chapter 122

Jasper’s POV

Royal Knight pack

How in the hell did this turn from Stephanie’s trial into mine? This is ridiculous, and I am not going to just sit here and take this. Especially from that worthless Omega, Cassidy. She is getting everyone worked up for no reason, she needs to shut her mouth. So, I growled out a warning for her to do just that. I heard a louder growl coming from the back of the seated area, and then the sounds of a scuffle. I raised up in my seat to see what was going on and see a guy that looked about my age dragging four warriors up to the front of the courtroom with him. This must be Cassidy’s new mate, it couldn’t be anyone else, no one else cared for her like that, as she was unimportant.

He is looking like he wanted to rip my head off, and I wish he would try. He doesn’t look that strong, despite dragging those four warriors along with him. I am an Alpha, so I wasn’t worried at all. He didn’t intimidate me, he would be easy for me to defeat. I see them finally get control of him and convince him to go back to where they had been sitting before. I gave him a smirk and the look he gave me actually scared me. He wanted to hurt me, it was clear all over his face that he couldn’t wait to get his hands on me to get vengeance for Cassidy. He didn’t know that she wasn’t worth it yet.

“You are wrong, Cassidy is important. Plus, I already told you I was not going to let you phase again. So he will be able to hurt you. You cost me, my mate. I always wanted my mate. She was perfect for us, and you kept hurting her. You kept making deals to get you where you wanted to be. How is that working out for you now? You are going to get us both killed you, i***t. I wanted to mark Cassidy, and you were so scared of that happening, that you conned Carrie into becoming your mate. You knew she thought you were attractive and worked it in your favor. Did you know what was going to happen to mate when you marked another? Or did you not care because what YOU want is always the most important? You don’t need to answer that. I know the answer, I always have. I hope he tears your throat out and kills you for threatening Cassidy” my wolf Bain linked to me, and he is pissed.

“I didn’t threaten her, I just growled so she would know that she needs to shut the hell up and stop throwing me under the bus. She needs to worry about her own self and keep my name off of her lips. My business is NONE of hers and she needs to remember that. We are nothing to each other, I rejected her long ago” I linked back to him.

“Yes, YOU did. But I didn’t. I only wanted my mate. You ruined that for me, and never cared about how I felt about it. I always wanted her. I wanted her to bear my pups, and for us to grow old together. I never wanted any of these women who slept with you because they wanted to be the Luna. I also didn’t want to be with the ones who had fallen for your looks, believing you to be a good and decent man” Bain links me back. He has lost his mind. There is no way I would have allowed Bain to mark our mate, I would have killed her first. He was right, I really thought that since she refused to accept my rejection, I could get it broken by marking another while we were still bound. I was really pissed off that it didn’t actually work, either of the times that I tried it. That b***h just refused to die.

“I knew that already Jasper. You really think that you are fooling someone, but you are not. Remember, we are one and the same moron. I know exactly what you’re thinking. I have known everything this whole time, you have not hidden anything from me. I was just glad to have her around for me to be able to see her, to be able to smell her scent. When you blocked her from me, I would have killed you if I could have. But don’t worry, I am thinking that I might still get my chance. You have taken everything from me, allow me to do the same for you” Bain linked me back, and now I am a little worried. When I was Alpha, I was strong enough to keep him suppressed. Now, I wonder if I am still strong enough. I wonder what he is planning on doing. But I then laugh and brush it off. I have never been in a situation that I couldn’t talk my way out of, so I am not going to worry about that now. I will be just fine.

“Jasper, you are despicable. I cannot believe that you would plan to do such a thing to my mate. I hope you get what you have earned for all your disgusting plans” Christian’s little mate called out to me. I don’t even look her way. I don’t even know her name, and I couldn’t care less what she says. I haven’t admitted to anything. They don’t have any proof anyway, it is just speculation on their part, and I am not worried at all.

“Jasper, if you had hurt either one of my sons, I would have made you sorry. Why wasn’t being Alpha enough for you? That is a great title and something that few get to aspire to. I am appalled that you would make these plans to get Peyton, all in an effort to become the Alpha King. Does life matter so little to you that you would kill two of my three children? To then force my third child into being your mate, against her will? Is being the Alpha King so important to you to do all that? Making all those plans, just to put yourself in a powerful position? I guess that was your plan all along when you found Peyton at 13, I cannot believe that you were OK with thinking about killing my young sons. Are you crazy, Jasper? You can ignore me all you want, but the truth remains. We all know what you were planning to do. Why don’t you just admit it, to all of us?” Luna Queen DeAnna called out to me, but I was not going to respond to her either. I am not going to admit to doing anything or showing any kind of emotion that would make anyone think that what Cassidy had said was true. They don’t know me, and I have the benefit of the doubt to help me get out of this.

“Aren’t you guys supposed to be speaking to Stephanie about her wrongdoing? I want my own trial, and to give my own defense. How is allowing these two women to speak nonsense remotely involved in my alleged charges against me?” I asked the Council. I see the Alpha King staring directly at me when I turn to look at the Council. I went back to staring at the wall across from me again, keeping my focus on that. I am not going to allow him to get me scared. I just need to get out of this, and then go back and take my pack back from Cameron. He can go back to being my Beta if he can show me that he had not betrayed my loyalty.

“Actually, they are all tied together, Jasper. Remember, you took Stephanie to Ever Green to try to trade her, for Peyton. Or did you choose to forget that you went there and attacked Alpha Heath’s pack? Did you also forget that you sent people onto his packland to spy and try to get information on Peyton? Guard, you bring the witnesses into the courtroom, please? Leader Miller called out to the warrior at the door. The warrior nodded and then went to open the door and I watched as seven people entered the room and were put in the witness box across from me. s**t, this is not good. I saw the spy I sent in first to watch Ever Green, Tina Boxman. I saw my former Beta, Garrett, and Gamma, Andrew, there along with the three warriors that went with them, a tracker, and two strong fighters. I forgot that I had not gotten them back, I guess they had all been caught and had been being interrogated for over 2 months. The last person was Heath, and he was glaring at me. I guess that was why he wasn’t out in the seated area, he was going to speak about me shooting him. I wish I was a better shot now, I had wanted to kill him so badly that day.

Stephanie recognized them too and glanced over at me like I was caught but I didn’t look back at her or react. I am not going to just hand it to him. Cameron was my new Beta, which I had to choose because Garrett had come up missing after he went onto Ever Green territory. I had honestly thought that I would never see any of them again. I kept my face expressionless as they started again.

“Ms. Turner, do you recognize any of the people on the witness stand?” the councilman on the end asked me.

“Yes, I know Alpha Heath, That woman Tina, and the former Beta and Gamma. I don’t know the other three” Stephanie told them.

“Do you know how they came to be found in Ever Green?” the councilman asked.

“There were all at Dark Savage, but after I slipped up and told Jasper that Peyton was at Ever Green, he sent the woman in to gather information on Peyton. The Beta and Gamma were still at the Dark Savage pack until the day that Jasper told me that we were going to go to the Ever Green pack to get me and Peyton traded out. But Percy wouldn’t come out, and Peyton never came to the gate. That was the day that Jasper shot Heath. I didn’t know that he was going to shoot anyone” Stephanie told them, and of course, another gasp went around the courtroom at me having shot Heath. I mean I got shot as well that day, he wasn’t the only one that had been shot. One of his snipers shot me too. I wish she would shut the hell up, but she knows that I won’t be helping her out in this, so she is willing to take me down with her. I take my focus off the wall and start staring directly at her, in the hopes that she will shut the hell up with her talking when she sees my face. She can take a hint, but she is not looking at me, she is focused on the people in the witness box.

“Ms. Turner, do you know, of your own personal knowledge, if Jasper gave them instructions to do that, or if they were acting on their own?” the same councilman asked her.

“I wasn’t in the room with them, but I know that he had a meeting with Beta Garrett, and Gamma Andrew before I was able to bring his lunch into his office. They seemed serious when they left the office, but I didn’t hear the plans they had made. I can tell you though that whenever Jasper left the pack, he always had one or both of them with him, and this time he didn’t. He had also told me on the way there that we needed to cause a disturbance at the front gate, so his men could get in the Ever Green pack. He thought they might hide Peyton away, and so he had a team going in to try to get her back while we distracted Heath at the front gate” Stephanie told the Council, and I was gritting my teeth at how stupid she was. She just told them that she was an accomplice in the attack, why is she so stupid? She isn’t just condemning me, but herself, as well.

“Stephanie is right, he doesn’t go anywhere alone, he will always have at least his Beta, or his Gamma with him” Cassidy pipes up, and I turned to glare at her too.

“Thank you, ladies, we will go now to the video evidence now,” the councilman said, and I wonder what they are talking about. There are two 85-inch TVs hanging from the ceiling of the courtroom and they both come on with the same video so everyone can see them in the gallery, one on either side of the aisle. They also have one that sits at the back of the room playing the same video so the Council could watch as well.

I watch as I see Tina’s face pop up on the screen, and we all listened to what she said. It wasn’t good. She completely threw me under the bus. I mean I knew she was here for the last couple of months, but I honestly couldn’t get her back in my pack. I had lawyers working on it, but with her literally caught trespassing and then sent to the Royal Knight pack. I had no way of getting her back. She had told them everything, that I had been sleeping with her too, and our pillow talks as well. That was the worst part, as I had indeed told her that I had not cared for either of my Luna’s. That I was just trying to get a strong heir from one or the other of them. Hearing the parents of Carrie, and Jasmine, growling at me as Tina admitted that I just “needed someone in a higher rank in the Luna position, and didn’t care who it was” did not go over well either. It is like someone is trying to ruin me. No one will want to have a treaty with me once this is done, I will be on my own with my pack. She told them about my thoughts and feelings about other Alphas and Betas, and they weren’t good opinions. How I thought that I can get almost any woman to fall in love with me using my looks. I took a quick look at the gallery, and they were all intently watching the screens transfixed at what she was saying.

Both my former Beta and Gamma told me about how I lied to them and told them that it was a rescue mission to get my true mate back and that they had no idea that she was mated to Percy. They were going in on my Alpha orders, and I wonder how they got them released from my Alpha order to keep their mouths quiet about that. I glanced over and see King Sebastian looking at me with a smile on his face, and I know that he overrode the command. He knew what I had done, and he took my command off of them. I had promised them too that if they had gotten caught doing what I asked them to, I would get them out of it. I lied to them too. I guess their being in cells for two months let them know that I wasn’t the trustworthy Alpha that I led them to think that I was. They told everyone the plan that I gave them, that I sent them in with a tracker, and two warriors to try to take Peyton from the pack when they found her, but they were all caught while still trying to get near the packhouse. Heath was looking at me smiling and I knew that he knew. He knew that I had sent them into the pack already and probably caught them pretty quickly. The tracker and warriors were also on record and testified against me too, and now I am kicking myself for not just telling the Beta and Gamma to relay my instructions. Now they are swearing in their testimony about the words that I said to them, and it is looking pretty bad for me.

I did tell them that they needed to be gentle and not hurt her, I knew that she was going to be scared of being taken, and I didn’t want her more upset than she was already going to be. I turned to look at Peyton to see if she would appreciate me caring about her treatment and saw Percy reaching forward and gently squeezing her shoulder to let her know that he was there. I glared at him for touching her, she was not supposed to belong to him. He then gave me a smile and then leaned forward to give her a k**s on her mark, and she gave a quick shudder at his action. I am clenching my fists so hard now that my nails are breaking the skin. I wanted her first, she was mine, not his. She should have always been mine. I see that both Carrie’s parents and Jasmine’s parents are looking at Peyton, and then they all turned back to look at me, and they are furious. I can tell that they want me dead. When I go back to Dark Savage, I am going to start making them all pay, starting with Percy. Then I will kill Heath, King Sebastian, my Beta Cameron for trying to take over my pack, and then all of those traitors on the witness stand that couldn’t keep their damn mouths shut. Oh yeah, and then I will take care of Cassidy and Stephanie if they don’t get put to death. Both of them are ruining this for me, making me look bad, and getting into my business. They need to keep their mouths shut if they know what is good for them.

“You are fooling yourself if you think that you will be going back to Dark Savage, Jasper. You are no longer Alpha there, you have been replaced, and I don’t think that you will have to worry about anything else pretty soon” Bain tells me through mindlink.

“Are you threatening me Bain?” I linked him back.

“No, I am promising you, that since you ruined my life, and lost my mate to us, I am going to now ruin yours. I hope you are planning on meeting the Goddess soon a*****e because I have no interest in living without my beautiful mate. Just remember, you brought all of this on yourself” Bain tells me and recedes to the back of my mind again.

That was not an idle threat. He is serious, and now I am worried.
