Return of the Prodigy Chapter 125

Everybody went quiet the moment Adam hung up the phone.

The neighbors looked at Adam in shock and could not believe their ears.

Who is he? How could he speak rudely about the owner of Ocean Group? How could he summon him over?

Also, he expects the owner of Ocean Group to show up in ten minutes. If he is even a minute late, he will destroy the company! How can he possibly pull this off?

The neighbors were not alone. Even Gemma was startled to hear this. She shouted worriedly, "Adam, what were you thinking? Are you having a flare-up again? Didn't you hear what they said? We can't afford to offend Ocean Group. Katie just became CEO of Hartley Group, so you can't get her in trouble."

"Mom, don't worry. I know what I am doing," Adam said reassuringly.

The building manager burst out laughing and said, "You must be bragging. No one is buying a word you say. Just stop pretending. Are you trying to scare me? I don't get scared easily. I will give you ten minutes. When the time is up, you are going to get it from me." Adam sneered coldly. He did not even bother to speak to the man. He helped Gemma up and said, "Mom, why don't we get you to the hospital?"

Gemma wrested herself free and said huffily, "How can I go to the hospital now? Apologize to them and just let it slide."

A kind neighbor also tried to talk him out of it. "Now is not the time to act tough. Ocean Group is a very big company, no one is going to mock you for compromising."

Adam smiled without putting up an argument.

In the blink of an eye, ten minutes had passed. More neighbors came over to watch. Only the estate security guards had shown up with their batons, but the owner of Ocean Group was still nowhere to be seen.

The building manager laughed even more cockily, "Your ten minutes are up. Do you see my boss anywhere? In 30 seconds, he would be officially one minute late. What are you going to do about Ocean Group? You can show me how you're going to make it disappear then. This is hilarious. He's such an idiot. Even if he were just pretending, he could have given the boss an hour or 24 hours to show up. Now, he's completely cornered."

The security guards from building management burst out laughing.

The neighbors shook their heads in disappointment one after another.

"You must be bragging."

Gemma's face flushed at the neighbors' remarks. She reached her hand out and pinched Adam. She said angrily, "This is all your fault. Did you have to talk big? How are you going to fix this now?"

"Mom, calm down. It is just a matter of time before Ocean Group disappears," said Adam.

Gemma instantly glared at him. "Stop bragging. Just cut it out!"

Adam felt powerless and stopped talking.

Katie held his hand gently and said, "I believe you."

The building manager sneered coldly, "Get them. Send them to the police station."

Dozens of security guards instantly surrounded Adam, Katie, and Gemma.

The two men lying on the ground pretending to be injured also stood up. They took some batons from their colleagues and cursed as they attacked Adam viciously. "I'm going to kill you."

Adam turned and kicked the man away swiftly.

"Get them!" the building manager roared.

Dozens of security guards swarmed toward Adam without hesitation.

Adam stood in front of Katie and Gemma and attacked with both his hands and legs sending the security guards flying.

"Fuck you. Kill him!" shouted the building manager furiously.

Someone suddenly shouted angrily, "What are you doing? Stop right there!"

Four cops entered the door with cold expressions on their faces.

The building manager was startled. He cursed in his heart over their terrible timing.

Did they have to show up now, of all times? It is impossible for me to beat up the guy now.

"Officers, perfect timing. This man attacked the security guards. Please take him away."

The cops glanced at Adam. The cop at the lead waved his hand and said, "Take them away."

The building manager smiled smugly, but a second later, his face froze awkwardly. The police were not here for Adam. Instead, they cuffed the security guards.

"What are you doing? You should cuff them instead!" roared the building manager utterly baffled.

The cop in the lead frowned and said, "Are you trying to teach me how to do my job?"

The building manager went speechless and did not know what to say.

Someone squeezed through the crowd anxiously. Before he was even able to get a close look of the apartment, he shouted, "I'm the owner of Ocean Group. Who wanted to see me? Which one of you is it?" The crowd was stunned by his presence.

The building manager said in surprise, "Mr. Miller, what are you doing here?"

Mr. Miller had no intention of answering him and simply kept saying, "Who wanted to see me? Just hurry up and tell me who it was."

Mr. Miller knelt on the ground and bowed as he spoke with tears and snot on his face. "I'm sorry. Even though I'm not entirely sure what mistake I made, please don't destroy my business. I'm here to apologize."

The building manager trembled in disbelief. He asked quizzically, "Mr. Miller, what do you mean?"

Everybody was stunned. They opened their eyes wide looking at the owner of Ocean Group in disbelief.

What did he mean? Is his company done for?

Unbelievable!

All eyes turned to Adam, but he remained composed. He asked, "Are you the owner of Ocean Group?"

Mr. Miller immediately ran up to Adam and bowed. "Yes, I am. Please forgive me. I don't really know what happened, but I hope you can forgive me."

Mr. Miller was so upset that tears trickled down his face.

His lover needed a checkup, so he was at the hospital when he suddenly received a call demanding that he show up at the estate in ten minutes to apologize. If he were even a minute late, his company would get destroyed. The moment he heard about this, he cursed and hung up the phone without hesitation.

Eleven minutes later, he received a string of calls. With each call, things at the company just got worse.

In just three minutes, the company had lost most of its assets. Also, the police department called informing him they were seizing his company for investigation of criminal activities.

Mr. Miller was so petrified that he nearly passed out. When he snapped out of his shock, he rushed over to the estate immediately. On his way here, he received news that the police had already seized the company.

In other words, the company was done for!

He had done nothing, so he had no idea who the culprit was.

Adam promptly answered coldly, "You have bullied the residents and extorted them under the guise of building management. You encouraged your subordinates to trespass on private property and hurt the residents. I see no reason for your business to continue." Mr. Miller kept bowing to him as he said miserably, "I'll compensate for everything. I'll take care of the renovation and ensure you can move in as soon as possible. I'll also send the victims to the best hospital and take care of the bills. I'll cough up every dime we have extorted from the homeowners and apologize personally to every single one of them. I'll do anything it takes to gain your forgiveness."

The building manager was dumbstruck and looked at Mr. Miller in disbelief.

The tenants were blown away. They looked at Adam in bewilderment.

Who the hell is this guy? How could he summon the owner of Ocean Group with a single call and make him kneel before him?
