Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 137

James entered the police station just to find several big shots standing in the hall and a row of soldiers on his left and right.

The commissioner was also in the hall, sweating bullets.

"Where is the person I asked you about!" growled Jake Allen.

The commissioner stammered, "H-He's in the interrogation room."

"What are you waiting for? Move, lead the way!"

Still shivering, the commissioner led everyone to the interrogation room.

James had a very bad feeling. Did they all come here for that guy?

No, that's impossible. Didn't they say that his badge was fake?

Despite his confusion, James followed to see what was going on.

One minute later, they arrived at the interrogation room. The door opened with a creak, and they saw two police officers lying on the ground. Adam, who should have been sitting in his chair, was leaning against the table, staring coldly at the two men on the ground. The two police officers were wailing in pain.

The strange scene left the crowd stunned. The commissioner rushed into the room and shouted, "You punk, how dare you assault a police officer!"

Adam looked at him coldly and asked, "Are you the person in charge here?"

The commissioner snarled, "Yeah, it's me! What of it?"

Adam continued, "Well, not anymore. You're fired."

The commissioner was stunned for a good three seconds. When he returned to his senses, he said through gritted teeth, "What did you just say? You're still young, but you sure know how to run your mouth! Goddammit, who do you think you are?" Jake said coldly, "Commissioner Kenn, you're fired."

The commissioner was dumbfounded. Thinking that he had misheard, he asked, "Mayor, what did you say?"

Jake glared at him and repeated, "I said you're fired!"

The commissioner stood rooted to the spot, unable to make sense of what was happening.

An equally shocked James could not help but ask, "Mayor, what's going on? That guy assaulted a police officer, and he even had a fake badge..." James trailed off mid-sentence.

Fuck, don't tell me that he isn't impersonating a general and that the badge is real...

"James Pratt, who told you that the badge was fake? The badge is real!" Jake reprimanded.

Jake's last few words reverberated in James' mind like thunder.

No way, the badge is real?

James' face paled, and he did not even dare to think of the consequences.

The commissioner, who was still unsure as to what was happening, was so frightened that he lost his balance, falling to the ground b**t-first. Outside the police station, Silas waited impatiently.

At this moment, the soldiers walked out of the police station and jumped into their Growlers, leaving the scene. Adam was not with them. Silas heaved a sigh of relief.

Heh, how could that guy's badge be real? These soldiers must have come to the police station for some other reason. Yeah, that must be it.

Not long after, Silas saw the governor leave the police station. However, there was still no trace of Adam.

Silas was even more sure of his conjecture now. Although he did not know what had happened in the police station, he believed that James had everything under control.

If everything went according to the plan, Adam would spend a long, long time in jail.

Silas' smile grew wider. He started smoking another cigarette to pass the time.

But in the next moment, he saw Adam and Black Dragon walk out of the police station, unharmed.

Silas stared at them in disbelief. He even rubbed his eyes a few times to make sure he was not seeing things.

What's happening? Why were they released? I thought James had everything under control!

Puzzled, Silas gave James a call.

A short while later, James came out of the police station and got into the car.

"James, what happened? Why were they allowed to leave?" asked Silas impatiently.

James glared at Silas, he felt like strangling him. When he recalled what happened in the police station earlier, he could not help but shiver again.

Adam's badge was real, and he was a three-star general!

Unfortunately, it was too late for James, and his career was over because he decided to help Silas.

"I've been removed from my post. Soon, someone from the disciplinary unit will come to pick me up," said James as he took out a cigarette to calm his nerves.

"What?!" Silas was dumbfounded. "What do you mean by that? Don't tell me that the badge is real!"

James shook his head, denying it. He had signed a non-disclosure agreement, and could not tell anyone about Adam's identity.

"It doesn't have anything to do with him. Jake Allen got some dirt on me. That's all." James closed his eyes, a pained look on his face.

Silas did not know what to say. After a short moment, he asked, "However, there's still something that doesn't add up. Even if the mayor got some dirt on you, why was Adam allowed to walk free?"

James sighed inwardly. Given Adam's status, no one could keep him in jail.

"Jake helped him out," said James casually.

Silas was even more confused. "Why would Jake Allen help him? What's the relationship between the two of them?"

James sighed. "Perhaps it's because he told Jake that you're suspected of abetting murder and usury. I think you'll be brought in for some questioning soon."

While the duo was discussing, two police officers walked up to the car and knocked on the window.

"Are you Silas Camden? We need to ask you some questions."

Silas was at a loss for words.

After leaving the police station, Adam called Katie to tell her that he was safe. Then, he told Black Dragon to bring him to Sky High Venue.

Priscilla was holding a competition at the venue, and the winner would get to marry her. For the past two days, the mixed martial arts circle in Lisle had been in an uproar. Things had escalated to the point that even the members of the Black Snake Brigade had to be alerted.

If she continues like this, I'm afraid that more and more people from Alameda County will come to Lisle...

"Why don't you let me take care of this matter? We can't risk exposing your identity," said Black Dragon with some concern.

Adam shook his head and said, "These secret organizations are different from the underworld as they're often not swayed by money or politics. The Black Snake Brigade is not well-equipped to deal with them."

Black Dragon frowned and said, "What if I take action personally?"

Adam said after a moment, "Even if you take action, it's not guaranteed that you'll win. I haven't fought with Priscilla yet, but I feel like she should be a martial arts master at the very least."

Black Dragon ground his teeth and whispered, "Since when has martial arts master become so common? I feel like I've seen one too many lately!"

Adam remained silent.

Black Dragon asked again, "What do we do then?"

Adam mulled over the matter and said, "I'll try to use words at first. If it doesn't work, I'll have to resort to violence."

Black Dragon nodded. No matter how much of a freak Priscilla was, she stood no chance against Adam. After all, Adam was already a legendary martial artist. It was a pity that he had been injured after his fight with the other eight legends. Having recalled something, Black Dragon exclaimed, "Wait, we have a problem. The winner of that competition is going to become Priscilla's husband!"

Adam was dumbfounded, and a scowl appeared on his face.
