Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 155

A man in his forties wearing a suit entered the office. He smiled coldly as he swept his gaze across everybody in the room. He seemed pleased with everyone's reaction. "Which one of you is Katie Hartley?" asked he.

Katie stepped forward and answered, "I'm Katie Hartley. Are you from the Camden family?"

The man said arrogantly, "My last name is Ortiz. I'm here on behalf of the Camden family to take over your company."

Everybody turned to look at Mr. Ortiz in disbelief.

Mr. Ortiz frowned and continued, "By now, I'm sure you realize the error of your ways. Unfortunately, it's too late. You should never have touched the Camden family. It doesn't matter the kind of agreement you have made with Silas previously. Hartley Group is completely cornered now. It doesn't matter how you feel, you'll have to do as I say. Remember this, you are in no position to bargain with me, and I will only say it once, so don't make me repeat myself!"

Mr. Ortiz spoke domineeringly without even giving Katie the chance to respond. Then, he retrieved the document and slammed it on the table right away.

"After signing this document, Hartley Group will no longer be yours. The offer is 3 million and it's considered generous. Get on with it. I don't have all day." Mr. Ortiz looked at them in disdain as he stood in the room proudly.

Katie naturally did nothing of the sort. Hartley Group was worth far more than his offer. How could she sell it for just 3 million?

"Mr. Ortiz, I don't understand."

Mr. Ortiz interrupted her and said, "Shut up! I told you, no haggling."

Katie furrowed her brows, her face looking cold.

Adam said, "You really didn't have to be rude. Are you here on behalf of..."

Mr. Ortiz interrupted yet again. He said, "Stop acting as though you matter. You just have to do as I say. Got it?"

Adam kicked Mr. Ortiz so hard that he was sent flying.

The guy kept interrupting, so it was time to teach him a lesson!

Mr. Ortiz flew into mid-air with his back arched. He kept going for around five meters and nearly shot out of the room altogether.

Mr. Ortiz crashed onto the ground with a thud and winced in agony. Even after trying his utmost to stand up, it was impossible and it felt as though his bones were completely shattered.

Mr. Ortiz could only lie on the ground as he cursed furiously, "How dare you touch me? I'm just the messenger. Don't you know the rules? How could you do this to me?"

Adam laughed coldly and said, "Didn't your mother tell you it was rude to interrupt?"

Mr. Ortiz glared at Adam and said in fury, "You are dead meat, so you have no place making any demands. Just do as I say."

This fucker is too much!

Adam was infuriated, so he stepped forward and wanted to kick him again.

Mr. Ortiz was so petrified that he trembled before he shut his mouth.

"I don't know what you were thinking. Why would you think you have the upper hand?" Adam said coldly. "Now listen up. If I hear any bullshit from you again, the only thing that is going to give you any attention is my leg. Got it?" Mr. Ortiz wanted to speak, but Adam kicked him immediately.

Mr. Ortiz shut his mouth and glared at Adam angrily... if only looks could kill!

"Since you are here on behalf of the Camden family," Adam continued, "does this mean this has escalated to a full-scale battle? Send my word back to your boss. I'll give him what he wants! I certainly hope he does not live to regret it!" Mr. Ortiz waited for two minutes in case Adam had anything more to add before saying angrily, "May I speak?"

The people went speechless. He was acting cocky just moments ago, but he was quaking now-What a coward! "Speak!" Adam said coolly.

Mr. Ortiz smiled in disdain and said, "I know you are friends with the Hamiltons, but they are not going to help you this time. If the Camden family wants to take you out, no one will stop them!" Adam kicked him yet again.

Mr. Ortiz slid out of the office and shouted resentfully, "How could you kick me again? Didn't you say I was permitted to speak?"

"I don't like your face! Get lost!" Adam said expressionlessly.

Mr. Ortiz trembled as he supported himself using the wall and stood up. He turned to look at Adam and gritted his teeth as he spoke, "Just you wait!"

Mr. Ortiz staggered to the lift entrance. Just then, the lift door happened to open and Sofia ran out anxiously bumping hard into Mr. Ortiz.

"My bad. I'm so sorry," apologized Sofia automatically.

Mr. Ortiz did not know what to say.

The rest of the people went quiet as Adam shook his head speechlessly.

After she was done apologizing, Sofia ran into the office and said anxiously, "Katie, I heard something happened to your company."

Katie nodded powerlessly.

Sofia turned to look at Adam. "Are you going to do anything about it?"

Katie went quiet.

Adam paused briefly before he said, "Katie, I need to head out."

Katie froze briefly.

Sofia immediately said excitedly, "Come on then. I'm tagging along with you."

"Why?" Adam frowned and asked.

"I know you are going to teach them a lesson," Sofia said excitedly.

Katie went speechless. She rolled her eyes powerlessly before she said, "Watch your back, Adam."

Adam nodded, took out his phone, and called Black Dragon as he walked over to the lift.

Sofia giggled as she followed behind him.

Adam then drove to Sunshine Group.

Sunshine Group was one of the top three construction companies in Lisle, so it was a massive enterprise. The CEO, Neil Jefferson, was a man in his forties. He was very well connected and knew both politicians and gangsters. He was absolutely unintimidated even by the likes of Paul.

Sunshine Group was the first company to cut business ties with Hartley Group today.

After getting off the car, Adam entered the lobby and asked the receptionist courteously, "Hi there. Is your boss around?"

The receptionist smiled and asked politely, "And you are?"

"We're from Hartley Group. We're here to talk to your boss about business," Adam replied.

The smile on the receptionist's face disappeared the moment she found out who they were. She said coldly, "Sorry, my boss isn't around."

"Damn it!" Sofia glared angrily as she cursed. "What's with your attitude? Did it have to change so quickly?"

The receptionist sneered and said, "I told you. He's not here."

Sofia was so infuriated that her eyes turned red, she almost wanted to explode.

Adam stepped forward and said, "Fine. We will wait." He walked over to the lounge and took a seat.

Sofia froze briefly before she followed behind him and asked, "What are you doing? Why are we waiting? Shouldn't we charge right into his office?"

"Can you calm down?" Adam said. "We are here to talk business, so we can't act like hooligans, right?"

Sofia blinked and said in astonishment, "Are you serious? You're a high-ranking official, so you don't have to be nice."

Adam smiled grimly. "If you want to hang around, then take a seat. Otherwise, just go back to the office."

Sofia sneered huffily before she gritted her teeth and sat down beside Adam. "Fine, I'll wait. I don't understand why you're playing nice. Let's see how far it'll take you." Adam stopped talking and simply waited quietly.
