Revenge Of The Billionaire Girl -
Chapter 20 As long as you say no, I'll believe you
"You are absolutely crazy!" the Old Riley looked at him in disbelief. "Drake, she has turned you against your own family? I wonder what spell she has cast on you that made you believe her so firmly!"
"Fine! I'll show you the evidence now!"
The Old Riley had already had everything prepared for this day.
"This is the medical record of her abortion!"
The evidence seemed solid enough.
Drake took it over and did not want to believe it. But he didn't know how to prove this false.
The Old Riley looked at him and said resignedly, "Drake, you can't be tricked by her again. If she loved you, how could she do such things behind your back to hurt you? And why would she be with Travis Lawson if not for money?" "Drake, be smart this time!"
Drake still couldn't believe it. Why would Sophia threaten to sue them if this was true?
The Old Riley continued, "Drake, I know you are hesitating because she was your first lover. I know first lovers can be unforgettable and you don't wish your first love to be a bitch. But... this is undeniable truth. I dealt with her for your sake. I just don't want you to be fooled by her again."
Back then, when Sophia disappeared, Drake acted like crazy. He had been looking everywhere for her. Everyone around him was saying that Sophia dumped him because she had found someone richer, but he refused to believe them, The Old Riley had thought Drake could never pull himself together.
But after a long time of searching, Drake still couldn't find Sophia. He started to believe what he was told and got back on his feet again.
Then he took over the Riley Group and made it bigger and bigger.
The Old Riley had thought Drake had forgotten Sophia. He tentatively asked Drake to bring Sophia over to apologize to him. It was a test for Drake.
But Drake failed the test. It meant he still cared about Sophia.
This time, there was much solid evidence in front of him, but he still chose to believe in Sophia.
'Drake, how can you be so silly?' thought the Old Riley.
After a long while, Drake showed the Old Riley a video and asked, "Fine. I can believe you if you could explain this to me."
The Old Riley watched the video and frowned. He seemed to understand something and asked, "Do you think I did this?"
"I will believe you if you said no." After all, the Old Riley was his grandfather.
"I didn't do it."
The Old Riley didn't know who did this, but he had nothing to do with it.
"Okay."
Drake believed in him.
But he had to tell the Old Riley what Sophia had said.
"Grandpa, this is a lawyer's letter from Sophia. She said that she will sue you if you didn't clarify the rumors and apologize to her."
The Old Riley sneered. "Who gave her the galls to threaten me?"
Drake knew that there was no room for negotiation.
When Drake was about to leave, he saw Aria, who had been peering at them.
Frightened, Aria turned around to leave.
Drake felt it strange, "Aria!"
Aria was stunned and stopped there.
"Are you... scared?"
Drake noticed that Aria's body was shaking.
"No, no!" Aria dared not look at him.
"Did you do something?"
"No, I didn't!" Aria looked guilty.
"Aria, you had better tell me now what you have done before we can figure a way out. If not, I won't be able to help you if it turns into a big deal." Aria tried to keep a smile on her face. "Drake, what are you talking about? I didn't do anything."
Drake glanced at her and didn't keep pushing her.
Aria had been spoiled since she was a child, she had gotten used to being flattered by everyone. Forget it, maybe she needed to be taught a lesson.
Drake left.
Aria breathed a sigh of relief, but was still nervous.
What should she do now?
Sophia hadn't received a reply from the Old Riley. It seemed that the Old Riley had decided to confront her head-to-head after all.
In that case, let it be. She was kind enough to give them a choice.
Sophia posted the lawyer's letter online with a statement, "The Old Riley, since you have decided to keep doing wrong things, I have to defend myself. I gave you a chance, remember. I have handed the evidence of your slandering me to the court, the trial will begin in no time. It's pathetic that you, at such an old age, are going to jail for slandering someone. But since this is what you want, I will help you achieve it."
Sophia had a tough attitude. It was the Old Riley she was going against, but she didn't seem to be scared at all. She was determined to make him pay the price.
Helena was curious, "Sophia, what evidence do you have to prove that he is slandering you?"
Sophia smiled. "I have enough evidence. I didn't want to do this, but the Rileys just have a death wish, so I can only satisfy it."
Chloe was excited, "Can you tell me what the evidence in your hands is?"
"Although you two are my good friends, to make it funnier, I can't tell you now."
Chloe begged, "Sophia, just tell us! Don't keep me guessing!"
Sophia laughed. "It's worth the wait!"
Chloe pouted.
Everyone was waiting to see how Sophia was going to turn the tables and send the Old Riley in jail.
