Kevin's question left Gloria stunned.

She suddenly realized how pitiful Kevin was. It would seem that Kevin himself didn't even recognize how obsessive he had become. He had spent his entire life trapped in this one matter. Everyone else had moved forward, but only Kevin was stuck in the past.

Gloria restrained her anger for a moment, carefully observing Kevin. "Tell me what you want. I doubt you came here just to reminisce about the past. You must have a purpose." Kevin quickly masked the hatred in his eyes.

"I'm sick and don't have long to live. Before I go, I want to meet the child that Viola raised, Skylar, right?" Kevin said.

Gloria immediately narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing Kevin with evident wariness. She didn't trust him, even suspecting his motives.

Why did he want to meet Skylar? Was it simply because she had been raised by Viola?

Kevin wasn't surprised to see the guarded look in Gloria's eyes. So, he continued, "If you let me meet her, I'll tell her where the remaining cursed artifacts are."

Gloria's brows furrowed even deeper.

"I can see your fate. You should have died two years ago, but you've managed to live until now. It's likely because of Skylar. She's really intriguing-just as extraordinary as Viola's choice," Kevin said with a smile. Gloria's expression changed.

Edgar couldn't hold back anymore. "What nonsense are you spouting? Mrs. Martin Senior is perfectly fine! She'll live to be at least 100 years old!"

"Exactly! Stop saying such ridiculous things to scare her. We don't believe a word you say!" Veronica added quickly.

For some reason, they both felt that Kevin exuded an unsettling air of malice. And his words sent chills down their spines.

What did he mean by saying Gloria should have died two years ago? What exactly was this man plotting?

Skylar had originally planned to go with Natalie to a live taping of a variety show. They had family passes to attend the show.

It was a performance-based variety program featuring many trainees. Charles and Austin had been invited-Austin as a mentor and Charles as his assistant.

Skylar and Natalie liked several artists, so they were excited to see the performances in person.

However, Skylar received a call from Gloria on her way to work.

Gloria didn't say much over the phone, only asking her to come home as soon as possible.

Worried about Gloria's health, Skylar requested time off work, explained the situation to Natalie, and immediately headed to Avalon Residence. When she arrived, she realized there was a guest. It was an elderly man.

But the room was silent.

The old man stared at her with a gaze that felt inexplicably strange. It had a kind of oddity that left Skylar feeling uneasy.

Suddenly, a thought struck her. She had seen this man before!
