Richest Mogul
Chapter 1402

Kevin looked almost like a mischievous old man. His tone shifted unpredictably-serious one moment, almost absurd the next.

The unpredictability of his words made him seem nearly unbelievable. Yet Skylar knew that, somehow, he could be trusted.

"Alright, I've said everything I came to say. You're a smart woman, so you know what you need to do next. I'll take my leave now." Kevin coughed a few times, his face paling, and then he turned and walked out of Pearlhall Residence without another word. Skylar didn't follow him. She noticed a few black cars parked just beyond the entrance, with men in dark suits stationed by the doors. By their stance, she could tell they were trained bodyguards.

Kevin had come all the way here just to tell her this, urging her to terminate the pregnancy. Skylar rested a hand over her abdomen. As she was lost in thought, Gloria approached her.

"Did he say something crazy again? He was a bit unhinged in his youth, but it wasn't this bad. Now? I can hardly believe a word he says."

Gloria claimed she didn't believe him, yet her eyes were filled with profound worry. If what Kevin said was true, then she didn't want to lose either Skylar or Joe.

Skylar hugged Gloria gently. "Grandma, my period's a few days late. If nothing else, it does seem like I'm pregnant. So, what he said might be true.

"Grandma Viola once told me about an acquaintance she knew when she was younger. This person surpassed her in many ways, but unfortunately, he was too fixated on certain things, which made him quite obsessive. I believe the person Grandma Viola mentioned is him."

Skylar spoke with a calm tone as if discussing someone else's situation.

The serene demeanor made Gloria's eyes redden with concern. "Then you... if this child truly comes at the wrong time, you should consider terminating the pregnancy. I don't want anything to happen to you or Joe.

"I just told Joe about this. He'll be here soon after he finishes his work. Let him accompany you to the hospital in the next couple of days."

Although she longed to see her great-grandchild in her lifetime, that didn't matter as much as Joe's and Skylar's well-being. Skylar fell silent for a moment.

...

After several performance battles at the reality show's recording, a stark contrast emerged between those with acting skills and those without. The atmosphere shifted with the participants' performance and the judges' comments, plunging the audience into a myriad of emotions.

Natalie was left in awe, realizing that this type of reality show tested actors' improvisational skills to an extreme degree.

The audience's reactions could greatly influence the actors' performances. Occasionally, she found herself glancing at Austin.

Perhaps it was because she was viewing her boyfriend through the eyes of a girlfriend, but the more she looked at Austin, the more strikingly handsome he seemed. When it came to his profession, it seemed that no one could match him. He radiated charisma when he spoke, offering guidance on the actors' strengths and weaknesses. Although Charles was also good, he paled in comparison to Austin. She quickly snapped a few photos to send to Skylar.

She wondered what Skylar was up to, as she had yet to reply. But she didn't dwell on it too much.

After several hours of recording, during a break, she sneaked into Austin's dressing room.

Seeing him touch up his makeup, she feigned being an enthusiastic fan. "Mr. Powell, can I get your autograph?"

Nearby, Hank was about to shoo her away. But upon realizing who she was, he simply raised an eyebrow in surprise.
