Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 31

Xander’s POV

My mom and sister had shown up and kicked Kane and I out of Sophia’s room. We didn’t want to leave her at all, but my mom was right. We did need a shower, and I had a pile of work to do. I know my dad was trying to help me out with my work, but he also still had Clark here and the council wanted to know how long it was until Sophia would be healed, so they could start their trial.

“Kane, go shower and meet me in my office when you’re done.”

“Will do boss.”

“Also stop calling me boss. I don’t know what will happen when we mate and mark Sophia, but in my eyes, we are equal, so please no more of that.”

“I don’t know if I can do that, but I will try and thank you for being so understanding about this.”

“There is nothing to be understanding about. We are both her mates and we both love her, and you are the closest person to me. If it was anyone else, I don’t think I could do it.”

I made it to my room and got in a ten-minute shower and put on some clean clothes. My mom was right this was needed very much. I feel better already. I wanted to do something to show Sophia that she was part of the family and so was Kane. I think I want to remodel our floor and knock out the wall between my room and the two rooms next to mine and turn it more into a little house for

us. I want to get started on this as soon as possible but it was going to be hard to keep from Kane.

Once I made it to my office, I found my dad and Clark in there talking.

“Hello son, how is Sophia?”

“She is better. Her wolf is back and helping her heal. I am hoping that she can come home soon.”

“I would like to meet her really soon.” Clark said.

“She doesn’t even know you are here, and I don’t know how she will react. She doesn’t handle being around males she doesn’t know very well.”

“I understand that, but things aren’t going to change, and I really need to speak with her before she comes into her full powers.”

“Well, that won’t happen until she is marked and mated, and Kane and I have both discussed that and we will wait until she is absolutely ready, regardless of how long that takes.”

“The moon goddess has ways around that. I need to speak with her soon.”

” OK, let me talk with her tonight and you can meet her tomorrow.”

“Son, we also need to get an update to the council. They aren’t going to wait forever.”

“Do you think they will be opposed to a closed trial? The things that were done to her, she shouldn’t have to recount in front of anyone that wants to hear.”

“You are going to have to ask them, but I think if they say no, you’re going to have to really step in because she shouldn’t have to do that.”

Kane finally stepped into my office looking as refreshed as I felt. My dad got up and went and gave him a hug. “Welcome to the family, but just so you know, you have always been a part of the family.” My dad told him.

“Thank you,” Kane said.

“Please no more sir, it’s either Ty or dad which ever you would prefer.”

This made Kane smile and it really made me appreciate my dad even more. He didn’t have to accept this, but he did with open arms.

“Kane, we need to let Clark speak with Sophia tomorrow.” I told Kane.

“I don’t know if she is ready. She has been through so much and I don’t want to add any stress to her.”

“I understand but she needs to learn the full truth of who she is, and the council is also breathing down my neck about getting the trial started.” I said.

We continued talking about Sophia and ways we could approach the council about a closed trial. We all agreed, not giving them a choice and just trying to tell them that it will close and that is final. I don’t know how well it will work. They have laws regarding this, but I know with extreme circumstances, they will allow it to be different. I had to get Kane out of here so I could talk to dad about doing the remodel. I wanted his approval before I did anything.

We also discussed the few rouge sightings we have had. There have been a few random ones found within our borders but nothing serious and they didn’t attack. My warriors followed them, and they were just passing through. Probably looking for food and a place to sleep before they move on. This was a common occurrence, but we couldn’t be too safe. You never know when they are planning on attacking. They don’t need a reason; they are more wolves than human.

“Clark, do you know how your sister handled her mates and their mating and markings? I am sorry that is really personal, but we aren’t sure how to approach it. I know she isn’t ready, but when the time is right, we don’t know what to do.” Kane asked.

“Well, Kane, if you don’t know how the mating process works, I think you have a bigger issue than the question you are asking.” Clark said.

“Oh goddess, yes I know how the mating process works! I just met with the two of her mates. Were they all together or separate or do they have to be one or the other?”

“Well, that is something I never talked with my sister about or her mates because, frankly, I didn’t want to know, but I think when the time comes you will know what is right for the three of you.”

“Thank you, sir.”

“Kane, why don’t you go check on Sophia and spend some time with her.”

“You don’t have to tell me twice!” He said before he took off and ran out the door!

I can’t believe that he asked that. I know he is nervous about how this will go down, but dam, neither of us are gay and it’s not like I am going to touch him or anything. It will be all about Sophia and I am sure we will have times when it is the three of us and times when there are just two of us.

“I am so sorry about his questions.” I apologized to Clark, as soon as Kane left.

“No, worries. I would be worried about it as well if I was in his shoes.”

“Dad, I need to ask you about something, but I want it to be a surprise for Sophia and Kane.”

“Anything, son.”

“I want to tear 3 of our rooms apart and make it a small little house for us. I want 2 bedrooms and a small kitchen nook, and a living room space and at least 2 bathrooms.”

“I think that is a wonderful idea. I will have your mom get started on it. This will be a good project for her and Avery. Also, it will keep them out of your hair.”
