Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 46

Sophia’s POV

After Luke wouldn’t let me out, I came back in here and pouted. It did me no good, but all I wanted to do was leave. I had to go somewhere that I felt I could be me. I sat on the window seat just staring outside and waiting for my mates to come back because I knew they would both be here. I am still so angry with Xander. I don’t know if I can forgive him, but this stupid mate bond will make it very hard not to. I watched as people came and went throughout the day. Nothing exciting, but at least I wasn’t lying in bed.

The sun was starting to go down when I had a knock on the door. I knew exactly who it was because nobody else would come this late in the day. The door opened and I got a mind link “hey baby girl, how are you?”

“Go away Kane.”

“We need to talk to you, and it is important. I know you are just angry right now, but please listen to us.”

I finally turned and looked at both of them. Goddess, they are both hot. Just the sight of them has wetness pooling between my legs. I need to stop this. I am mad right now.

“Stella, make it stop. I have to stay strong.”

“Girl, be mad and yell and ignore them for a while, but remember they are our mates, and they wouldn’t purposely hurt us like that.”

“But he did, he slept with her while he knew I was his mate and was in the hospital.”

“I know and we need to talk to him about that. There may be more to it than what we know or think.”

“I hate it when you’re right.”

“What do you two want?”

“Sophia, please let me apologize for starters.”

“I don’t want to hear that, Xander. Please just tell me what you came here about.”

“Clark, read your letter and he is detecting some magic is involved with all of this. He has a witch friend who is coming to help us, and she wants to meet with you alone.”

“Wait a minute. I thought there were laws against working with witches?”

“There is, but since we have lived in peace with them for so long now, those laws tend to get overlooked.”

“When will she be here?”

“Tomorrow.”

“Sophia, I would like to take you out of here and show you a surprise I have for you.”

“Xander, I don’t think now is the time for that. I don’t care what it is. You can’t just buy your way back into my heart.”

“Baby girl, please just come with us.”

They handed me some clothes to change into and we headed out. They both tried to grab my hand, but I would only hold Kane’s hand. I’m not mad at him, but I thought if I pushed him away, he would have the chance to choose who he wants to be with.

“Stella, should I keep trying to push Kane away so he can choose if he wants someone else. I don’t want to be selfish with them. They deserve to be happy.”

“Absolutely not, he wants us. I have talked with River, and he will do anything we want. Cut him some slack and let him back in.”

The boys took me back to the pack house and up the stairs. I was still really tired and a little weak from everything and walking at a slow pace. Kane reached down and picked me up in one swoop. He really did feel like home, so did Xander for that matter, but I wasn’t ready for that yet. I figured we were headed to my room, but he kept walking and went up to the Alpha floor. Kane put me down on my feet in front of a door and stepped back.

Xander stepped up and grabbed both of my hands. He took each one up and placed a k**s on each knuckle. “Do you know how much I love you, because it is more than life itself? I would never hurt you like I did on purpose. I was drugged and if I was in my right frame of mind, I would never do that to you. There is more I need to tell you, but it can wait until later. This is something that I have been working on for over a month now. Sophia, when I say I love you I mean it. I want you, I choose you, you are the best thing that ever happened to me, even if it did take me awhile to figure it out.”

Xander had poured his heart out and it had tears forming in my eyes, but I wasn’t going to let them spill. I am so tired of crying. He leaned down and placed a k**s on my cheek and opened the door. He motioned for me to step inside.

I walked into the most beautiful living space I had ever seen. The walls were painted a cream color and had large windows that overlooked the training fields and the forest that was behind the training fields. The windows had navy blue curtains and gray and white carpet. There was a spacious living room area with a large sectional sofa and tv. It also had a small kitchen and dining area.

“Xander, this is beautiful. When did you have time to do this?”

“This is something that I have been working on for over a month. I wanted the three of us to have a place of our own. If you open that door there you will find a master bedroom for the three of us when you’re ready and the door on the other side is another bedroom.”

So much for not crying anymore. This is the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done.

“Xander, this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you very much.”

“Beautiful you are very welcome. I would like to explain my past to you and maybe you can understand a little more about me.”

“I will take that as my leave. I lived the story I don’t need to hear it also.” Kane mind linked and then left.

“Let’s go sit down on the couch and I will explain everything to you.”

We walked over and sat down. He sat right next to me grabbing my hand and just holding it. I just sat there giving him as much time as he needed.

“I was out training with the warriors one spring day. It was beautiful outside. I got a mind link from the guard at the front gate. They said there was a woman at the gate asking for help. I told them I would be right there to investigate. Her smell hit me before I could see her. Jax was losing it screaming MATE in my head. I ran and opened the gate before I even knew what was waiting for me. I was twenty, so I felt like I had already waited a lifetime for her. The second I saw her, I accepted the bond. I was done for she was it for the rest of my life.”

This was hard to hear. He loved someone before me. I was trying not to cry but was failing.

“Beautiful, please don’t cry. I’m not trying to hurt you; I just want to be truthful.”

I just shook my head at him and waited for him to continue.

“I went to her, and we made it both known we were mates. I moved her into the pack house and did everything one would do with their mate. She wanted to move slowly in the mating aspect of things but wanted to know everything about being a Luna and the pack operations. I never thought twice about it. She soon learned everything about the pack. Security, finances, personal information about ranked members and lead warriors. The more the better. I wanted to introduce her as the new Luna and hold her ceremony, but she kept putting it off. We did finally mate but she refused to let me mark her. She was here for a year. She knew everything about us, and she wouldn’t even tell me about what pack she was from or even her last name. She said it wasn’t important. I was foolish. One day out of the blue she came to my office and stripped down and well, ya, you can imagine what happened and while I was getting close to finishing, she rejected me. She got up and got dressed, telling me this was the pain she felt every time she slept with me because she had a chosen mate, and she was only here to learn about our pack. Before I could reach her, she just disappeared, never to be seen again.”

“Xander, I am so sorry. She is a vile person who never deserved you.”

“Beautiful there’s more. After she left, it messed with me. I got really angry. My dad had handed the pack over to me because I had found my Luna. He had to step in and take over for a while. I couldn’t cope with it. After I got better, I swore I would never accept another mate. So, when you came crashing into my life, I did everything I could to not accept it. That was the biggest mistake of my life. I will regret that decision for the rest of my life.”

“Girl, you better forgive him right now. I told you there was more to it than what you thought.”

“Stella, I’m going to need just a little more time.”

I didn’t know what to say to him, so I just got up and sat down in his lap and cuddled up into him. He laid us down on the couch and pulled me as close to him as I could be, and we just laid there holding each other.

I don’t know how long we were there because we fell asleep. The door being thrown open and Kane sending us a mind link woke us up.

“Well, aren’t you two cozy. If you would get your asses up and go to bed so I can cuddle with Sophia as well.”

We both got up and I went into the master bedroom. It was huge. It had plenty of space for all three of us. I don’t know where he found a bed this bed, but we could all sleep together in it comfortably. I crawled into the center of the bed and Kane got in behind me and snuggled up to me. Xander was on my other side, and I laid my head down on his chest and fell back to sleep right away.
