Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 51

Xander’s POV

When Miles said that he had a sister that was three, I was dumbfounded. She couldn’t be mine, could she? There was a big possibility. I couldn’t stay there anymore. I stormed out of the dining hall and went outside and shifted the second I was outside. I let Jax have control.

“Jax, could we really have a kid we didn’t know about?”

“Ya, the timing is right, and we didn’t use protection.”

“She wasn’t in heat.”

“She doesn’t have to be. Their heat just makes it way more likely that it will happen, but it can happen when they aren’t in heat either.”

How could I tell Sophia this? I know she wants kids and can’t have them. How can I ask her to help raise one that is a product of my rejected mate? I was going to find this kid and find out for sure if she was mine or not. I think I will start with Miles. He had to have a picture on his phone.

First, I had to get this anger out. I let Jax keep running. He jumped over tree stumps, ripped up bushes, and hunted down some small animals. We found ourselves by our packs pond. He sat down and got a drink and we just started at the water. We sat there most of the night and just before the sun came up, we headed back.

I felt bad for staying away from Sophia all night, but Kane knew why and would cover for me. I went straight to my office and started my paperwork for the day. I had to check the finances and make sure our companies were staying on top of things. I had my hand in several different business. This provided more than enough for the pack. Most of my workers were pack members, so that helped a lot.

I could feel Sophia trying to mind link me, but I wasn’t ready to talk so I put up a block. Around noon I went to pay Miles a visit.

“Hey Miles, this is a weird question, but I would like to see a picture of your sister.” I asked him.

“I can’t, your beta took my phone. If you get it back, I will gladly show you.”

“Kane, where is Miles phone?” I mind linked him.

I got no response from him. I tried a few more times and still got no response. So, I sent Sophia a mind link. “Hey beautiful, where is Kane?”

“Oh, now you want to talk. I’ve been trying to mind link you all day.”

“I’m sorry I had stuff going on, please tell me where Kane is.”

“Asleep.”

As soon as she answered me, she put up her own block. I stormed up to our room and found Kane passed out in bed still. Lazy a*s can get up.

“Kane, get up. I need Mile’s phone. Kane, get up.” He was out. I started to shake him, and he finally opened his eyes. “Miles, phone now!”

“Dude, chill, it’s in my nightstand. Don’t be such a d**k.”

I walked over and yanked the drawer open and pulled it out and turned to walk out of the room, when Sophia came out of the shower in just a towel.

“Are you ready to talk, Xander?”

“Sophia, I told you I have stuff to handle. I can’t be around all the time, I’m sorry” I told her and stormed out of the room.

“Dude, your being an a*s. Go back and apologize to mate. You hurt her.” Jax mind linked me

“I have to, I can’t let her know about this. I have to push her away while we figure this out.”

“No, she would help us. She loves us.”

I blocked Jax out also and stormed to Miles’ room again. I didn’t bother knocking and just barged in. He was lying on his bed watching TV. He quickly turned it off and jumped up.

“Did you get my phone?”

“Ya I did. Now please show me some pictures.”

“Before I do. There is something else I need to tell you.”

“What!” I was seriously losing my cool.

“I don’t think my dad is really her dad. I never thought that he was, but after seeing you I am really sure about it.”

He finally turned his phone around so I could see it and this little girl was my twin. She had every feature of mine. She was the cutest thing I have ever seen. I scrolled through a bunch of pictures, and they were all the same little girl. She seemed happy and healthy, but we needed to get her out of there ASAP.

“What is her name?”

“Lucy.”

“I need you to tell me where your pack is? I need to bring her home to me. I can’t have her there.”

“I couldn’t agree more. Do you have a map because we’re not who you think we are.”

” Let’s go to my office. I need to link my beta and dad; they need to be here for this.”

“Kane, I need you to meet me in my office now!”

“No, you a*****e. I am dealing with a crying Sophia because of the way you treated her.”

“Right now, I don’t care. My office now.”

I didn’t hear back from him, and my dad said he would be there in ten minutes.

Kane stormed in and I could tell instantly that River had taken over.

“Kane, I am trying to protect her, so please just sit down and listen. I will tell you when I dad gets here.”

He just sat down shooting daggers at me and, well, I did deserve them, but hopefully he would understand when I explained.

Ten minutes on the dot, my dad strolled into my office.

“Son, what is so important that you have to meet right now? I was trying to get your mom, sister, Sophia and Sara off to go shopping. They are shopping for a Luna dress. I wanted to send several guards and they didn’t want any.”

“s**t, have they left? I meant to give Sophia my credit card.”

“No, they are arguing with the guards still.”

I handed my card to the guard outside that had been waiting to take Miles back to his room. Please take this downstairs and give it to Sophia. He took the card and took off towards the girls.

“OK guys, I have some big news and it doesn’t leave this room. Dad, yesterday we had some wolves that came onto our land. We were able to capture them and put them in our cells. Along with those wolves was Miles. We offered him asylum for valuable information.”

“What information could this kid have? He can’t be older than sixteen.” My dad asked.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door. “Come in.”

The guard I had sent down my credit card opened the door. “Sir, I am sorry to interrupt but she refused your card. She also had a message that I am not comfortable repeating.”

“What did she say?”

“Well sir, when I say this, I don’t mean any disrespect, it is simply her words.”

I just stared at him waiting for him to continue.

“She said, to take this card and shove it up your a*s.”

Kane busted up laughing, along with my dad. Miles was looking very confused.

“Sir, one more thing. She refuses to go shopping. I am not sure why, but I think it’s because she can’t pay for anything. That is what I gathered.”

“I don’t have time for this. Go down and tell her I will take care of it and what is mine is hers.”

He left and I turned back to everyone waiting on me.

“As I was saying, Miles has valuable information for us. I will start with the fact that Jules is his stepmother, and his dad is the Alpha.”

Kane didn’t look surprised because he already knew but my dad looked like he had seen a ghost.

“I am not done yet. When Jules left, she had a baby and, well, I am ninety-nine percent sure she is mine.”

I grabbed Miles’ phone and pulled up her picture and turned it around, showing my dad and Kane. Nobody said a word. You could hear a pin drop.

“Son, have you talked with Sophia about this?”

“No. I don’t want her knowing right now. You know kids are a sore subject for her.”

Again, there was another knock on the door. “Come in.”

The same guard stepped in again and said “Sir, I am sorry once again, but I have another message for you. She says that you can go to hell. She won’t take a dime from you and if you don’t pull your head out of your a*s there will be no Luna ceremony.”

f**k, I don’t have time for this. I am going to have to go talk with her, but she can’t know about this.

“Can you three please talk and try to figure out where his pack is, while I go deal with Sophia.”

I went up to our room in search of her. I called out to her but got no response. I continued to call out, looking for her in every room but she wasn’t there.

“Jax, do you know where she is?”

“No, but if she isn’t in our room, maybe she has gone to her old room. Thats where I would go.”

I ran down the stairs to her old room. I opened the door. I could smell her but didn’t see her in there. I called out to her again but got nothing. I tried to mind link her, but she still had her block up still. I was about to leave the room, but then I heard a noise in the closet. Of course, I thought to myself. She always hid in the closet when she was emotional. I quietly opened the door and spotted her sitting in the back corner. She had her knees pulled up to her chest and her head down on her knees crying. Goddess, I feel like an a*****e, and I am about to make it worse.

“Sophia, get up. Take my credit card and go get your dress. I don’t have time to deal with this right now.”

She didn’t say anything but just stood up and looked me directly in the eyes. Her eyes were glowing bright green right, telling me that I had Sella and not Sophia. She just stared at me and the next thing I knew she c****d her arm back and punched me right in the nose. It made an audible crack.

“Son of a b***h Sophia, what the hell is wrong with you?”

“Go f**k yourself Xander. You can’t treat me like this I won’t put up with it.”

I just turned around and walked out leaving her there. I went to the bathroom and cleaned the b***d off my face. I already had bruises forming under my eyes. They wouldn’t last long but I still couldn’t believe she hit me. She sure has grown a lot since being here. As upset as I am, I am also so proud of her. She didn’t cower away from me.

I walked back into my office and all three of them were laughing the second I walked in.

“Don’t say a f*****g word. Just show me what you guys have come up with.”
