Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 59

Xander’s POV

We dropped Sophia off at my parents’ room and went to my office so we could get some work done. I wanted to meet with Miles and maybe learn more about the pack he came from. I rushed in trying to find their pack and wasn’t prepared and it almost cost me my best friend.

The three of us were in my office and Miles looked a little scared. He had heard about what happened and I think he felt a little at fault. It wasn’t his fault, it was mine.

” OK, Miles, I want to know about your pack. Everything you can think of.”

“Well, we are called the B***d Pack. We are smaller with about 300 wolves in total, but what makes us different is the fact that we have about 75 witches that live there. The witches all mate with wolves and have created some hybrids. Although they are still young, and they don’t know what they will be capable of yet.”

“Well, you’re just a bundle of good news,” joked Kane.

“I am sorry. I should have told you this first. My dad’s Beta isn’t a wolf, but a witch and he is very powerful.”

“Kane, can you go get Emily and Trevor please, I think we are going to need their help with this.”

“Miles, you are not in any trouble, we just need to know everything about your pack. I would like to know what they want with our pack?”

“I know it started out because they just wanted to take control of your pack. They said you were too powerful and didn’t do anything to earn the power, but somehow, they met a girl from this pack who said your second chance mate was a rare wolf and now they want her and your pack. She wants you dead.”

“Well, she is right about one thing. My second chance mate is a rare wolf, but over my dead body they will get my mate.”

Kane came back in with Emily and Trevor. They were curious as to what was going on and I was about to let them know. I also think I should make the council aware. They are aware of Sophia, but I think they need to be aware of the threat that this pack is posing.

“Thank you, guys, for coming,” I told Emily and Trevor as I looked at them, but something on Trevor’s neck caught my eye. I knew he was my sister’s mate, but is that a hickey on his neck? I will kill him. He said he had a girlfriend.

“What the f**k is on your neck Trevor?”

“I don’t think you want me to answer that.” He said with a smirk on his face.

“You are my sister’s mate and, from what I have been told, you have a girlfriend and only agreed to get to know Avery and you show up here with a hickey on your f*****g neck.”

“Look, I know how it looks, but your sister is amazing. I broke up with my girlfriend so that I could be faithful to Avery. I hadn’t been with my girlfriend very long. Besides, I would do anything for Avery. I think I love her.”

” OK, all I ask is that you love her and protect her.”

“OK, on to why I really wanted you here. We were talking with Miles and apparently, they have around 75 witches living within their pack, and they are also mating with each other and have created some hybrids. The Alpha has also made a witch his beta. We are hoping you can help us figure out who these witches are and how powerful they are.”

“Who is the witch they have named as their beta?” Emily asked.

“His name is Richard. I’ve met him a few times and he is a quiet guy. He seems to always sit back and take everything in. He doesn’t do a whole lot.”

“Does this man have a shaved head and little beady eyes?”

“Yes, he is also short, barely five feet tall.”

“I can tell you that this man is a very powerful dark witch, and his intentions are not good. He is wanted by the witch’s council.”

“Wait, you have a witches council?” Kane asked.

“Yes, it’s very similar to yours. I really think that we may need to consult them. They are not going to be happy that we are working with you in the first place and even madder when they find out about them mating.”

“Do you think we could get a meeting with both them and our council?” I asked.

“Let me talk with them first. I am not sure how well this will go down. I will leave in the morning to gather them and talk with them. It will take me a little while to get this done. I have to go to each one in person and request a meeting and they will then talk and let me know when they will see me.”

“When can we expect you back?”

“Within two weeks’ time.”

“Thank you for all of your help. I know you are putting yourself at risk.”

“I have become fond of your pack and especially your mate. She is a powerful force and I want to be around to see her in action.”

“OK, Miles, what else can you tell us about your old pack?”

“Well, they are ruthless and aren’t afraid to kill. I know they use magic like it’s going out of style. I wouldn’t underestimate anything about them.”

“Kane, I think we need to up our patrol leading up to the ceremony and I also think we need to up training and make training required for anyone from 17 and up. Trevor, are you willing to help with training? Teach anything, you can about the witches?”

They both just nodded at me.

“Kane, I would like you to take night patrol tonight.”

“Are you trying to get rid of me?”

“Yes.”

“Well, at least you are honest about it.”

“I have to go. I have to give Sophia something.”

“What did you get her?”

“I am not telling you, it’s as much of a surprise for her as it is for you.”

He got up and left and everyone else followed. I wanted to spend the evening alone with Sophia. I planned on worshipping every inch of her body. I left my office to go set things up for tonight. I was going to start with a candle-lit dinner and then her for dessert. I also had a gift for her. Something I had been looking for since she told me the story about the necklace, she got for her tenth birthday. I had the new Alpha in her old pack looking for it and he finally found it. I got everything ready and had the kitchen prepare a delicious dinner for us. I took a quick shower and dressed to impress. I had mink linked my mom to see if they were done and they were just hanging out getting ready to go to dinner. I told her not to go down yet and I would be there for Sophia in a minute and not to tell her.

I went up and knocked on the door and waited for a come in before I opened the door.

“Well, my son sure cleans up nicely. What are you doing here?”

“I came to see if Sophia wanted to have dinner with me tonight?”

“Of course, I will have dinner with you,” she said as she walked over. Her eyes taking me in. When she got close, she leaned in and whispered, “can I have you for dinner?”

Her words were making me hard and I knew that we wouldn’t be eating first. I grabbed her hand and waved goodbye to everyone and led her out of the room. I stopped her at our door and leaned down and gave her a k**s filled with so much love, I just hoped that she could feel it. I pulled away and opened the door, watching her face to see her reaction. The living space was filled with candles and flowers. The table had our dinner waiting on it. She had the biggest smile I had ever seen on her face.

“You did this for me?”

“Yes, you deserve this and so much more. I want to give you the world, but for now, let’s just start with this.” I said as I pulled the box out of my pocket.

“You didn’t need to get me anything. You are enough. Don’t waste your money on me.”

“I didn’t buy anything; I am just returning it to its rightful owner. I want you to wear what is in this box tonight and nothing else.”

She gave me a look that told me she was ready, and I could smell her arousal. She took the box from me and slowly opened it. Her eyes had unshed tears in them.

“How did you find this?”

“I had the Alpha from your old pack looking for it since you told us the story about it.”

She turned around and pulled her hair out of the way. I placed the necklace around her neck and clasped it together. “Stella says that it is because it has been returned to its rightful owner. It was made to protect us. Our parents knew what we were and had this made for us.”
