Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 60

Kane’s POV

Stupid Xander had made me do night patrol so that he could spend the night alone with Sophia. A*****e! I took a group of newer warriors with me so they could get the feel of things. They were so damn annoying, talking non-stop.

“Will you all shut up and focus? If your mind linking, you can’t hear if anything is going on.”

I got a round of sorry betas and they stayed quiet after that. We were on our third lap of the night when I picked up a weird scent.

“Does anyone smell that?”

“Ya, it’s really sweet, what is it?” One of them asked.

“I’m not sure, but let’s be on high alert.” I linked back to them.

We continued on and I linked the rest of everyone out tonight to see if they had picked up anything and they hadn’t.

We never caught the scent again and didn’t find anyone and our shift was about to end when someone literally appeared out of nowhere in front of us.

“I am here because we are looking for the emerald wolf and we know she is here. Hand her over and this will end now.” the mysterious person said.

I shifted back to human form and told my guys to stay as they were. They formed a V behind me so that it was easy to attack if need be.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, you’ve made a mistake.”

“Oh, you dumb pup, I know she is here. You wear her mark and so does your stupid Alpha. You’ve been warned. She was never yours to begin with.”

Just like that, he was gone. I asked the guys to continue their rounds and to let me know if anything happened. I was going to talk with Xander.

I sent him a mind link telling him to meet me in his office but got no reply. I’m sure he was still sleeping. I continued to link him all the way to our room. I didn’t want to wake Sophia. I didn’t want her to know yet.

I opened the door as quietly as I could and snuck into our room and found them sound asleep tangled up together. Goddess, I wanted to crawl into that bed and go to sleep.

I walked over to Xander and shook him awake and sent him a mind link, so my voice didn’t wake Sophia.

“We had a threat tonight about Sophia we need to meet now.”

He just nodded his head and slipped out from her, and I headed to his office.

He stormed in about ten minutes later and wasn’t happy.

“What the f**k do you mean someone was in our territory and threatened Sophia?” Xander growled at me.

“My group had picked up a scent on the southwest boarder. It was sickly sweet. We couldn’t find anyone. It was like this one area had it but nowhere else. We made two laps in the area when suddenly someone just appeared out of thin air.”

“What did they say?”

“That if we handed Sophia over there would be no harm to anyone, but if we didn’t, they would attack.”

“Why do they want her?”

“They know she is an emerald wolf.”

“How the f**k do they know that? Very few people know the truth.”

“I don’t know. I tried to deny that she was one, but he said that I was wearing an emerald wolf mark and so were you and that she never belonged to us, and they will be taking her.”

“Like hell they will.”

“I agree, but what are we going to do? We don’t even know who they are.”

“I’m going to call a meeting with my dad, mom, Trevor and Clark. Sophia’s safety is top priority.”

“Agreed, but don’t you think we should tell her?”

“No!”

“I think we should. You’ve kept secrets before and look how it turned out.”

“I know, but I’m afraid she will turn herself over if she knows.”

“Fine but she doesn’t leave either your side or mine ne exceptions.”

“Let’s go get an early breakfast and then call everyone to the office.”

We made it to breakfast and since it was early, we were the first ones there. No complaints from me. All the hot food we wanted. I loaded up two huge plates and went and sat down to eat. Xander was right behind me. We were just eating and not talking when Clarissa’s stupid friends came in. They fixed their plates and came to sit with us.

“Meg, why are you here?” I asked.

“What, I can’t sit by you now?”

“No, this is the ranked members table,” Xander said.

“Well, I thought since you both share a mate, maybe you want to share yourself with others. I mean, seriously, she can’t be that good that both of you are satisfied.”

Xander jumped up and grabbed her across the table. “Don’t f*****g talk about our mate. You have no right.”

He released her and she was rubbing her red neck.

“Clarissa was right, she is a w***e. Who sleeps with two guys at the same time? Oh, that’s right, our so-called Luna. What you did to Clarissa should be a disgrace. You two and your filthy w***e have no right to lead a pack.”

She didn’t know yet, but her life was over. She crossed a line. This time, I grabbed her by the neck and dragged her to the cells and threw her in one.

“You can’t do this to me!” She yelled.

“Oh, that’s were your wrong. Disrespect for your Luna and Alpha has severe consequences and I’ll be back later to let you know what those are.”

I turned and left while she started crying. I went back to the dining room and sat down to eat. By this time, the dining room was filling up. I just wanted to finish eating so I could go snuggle with my mate.

“What time do you want to meet at?”

“Ten.”

“Good I’m going to go sleep for a few hours.”

I left the dining room and headed to our bedroom. I jumped in the shower and started washing. I didn’t want to be there long, I was exhausted and wanted to wrap my arms around my beautiful mate. I was just washing the last of the soap off me when I felt some hands wrap around me from behind.
