Sophia’s Revenge – Chapter 92

Sophia’s POV

My head was spinning. I had just had breakfast with Eric but deep down Stella and I know it was really Kane. We just have to figure out a way to get his memories back. Both councils should be here tomorrow and I’m hopeful they will have some answers. Xander doesn’t want him to know anything about what’s going on. He thinks something weird is going on. He said the pack he came from doesn’t exist.

“Stella, what ideas do you have?”

“Girl go mate him now!”

“Absolutely not. We don’t know for sure who he is and I don’t cheat.”

“I’m telling you, that is Kane. I don’t know why he doesn’t recognize us but I promise you that is Kane and River.”

“We need to talk to Xander,” I told her as I cut our link and went searching for him. I finally found him in his office with Nathan and Brooke.

“Hey beautiful, how are you?” He asked me as I walked into his office.

“I’m so confused.”

“I know me too. I was just telling these guys about what happened. We’re trying to come up with a way to get his memories back.”

“I went and had breakfast with him and showed him the scrapbook I made him. I hoped that would trigger something.”

“Did it?” Asked Brooke.

“I don’t think so. He looked through everything and was confused about how much they looked alike. He asked about Kanes wolf and what his name was. I don’t think his wolf knows anything either. I don’t think he even knows his own name. He did ask to keep the scrapbook a little longer.”

“Wow, I couldn’t imagine going through any of this,” Nathan said.

“We need to be careful. The pack he said he escaped from doesn’t exist and I don’t know his ulterior motive.” Xander said.

“I know, I just think the more time I spend with him maybe something will come back to him. Stella is 100% confident this is Kane and she wants me to mate and mark him.”

“Absolutely not!” Roared Xander.

“I never said I was going to. I think we really need to talk with the council and maybe have his head examined by doc.”

“That’s a good idea beautiful. Maybe he has a brain injury. We will do it later. I have to meet some people at the cemetery.”

He came over and gave me a k**s and walked out the door. I knew what he was doing but I didn’t want to be there. We all walked out of his office and went our separate ways. I walked to Luna Caroline’s room to get my boys.

“Sophia, how are you? Are holding up OK?” Luna Caroline asked as soon as I walked in the door.

“Not really. I don’t know what to think. Stella says it’s Kane but I don’t know.”

“I can’t imagine. I was going to see him later.”

“Let me know what you think after you do.”

I got a mind link from Xander asking me to meet him in his office. I gathered the boys in my little front pack and let Luna Caroline know that I was meeting Xander and to let me know how her meeting with Eric went.

I headed down the stairs and when I got to the bottom of the stairs case Eric was standing there talking with Jarrod.

“Hey guys, where are you off to?” I asked as I walked up to them.

“I was going to take Eric to the gym so he could get a workout in.”

I turned to Eric to ask him something but he had a look of shock on his face and his eyes were switching to black and back. He was fighting his wolf for control. He took a step closer to me and leaned down and smelled the babies. I didn’t let him ask any questions or say anything. I turned and ran to Xander’s office.

I threw the door open and found him and Konner sitting there talking.

“We have a problem. I ran into Eric at the bottom of the stairs and he scented Kane. I took off before he could ask questions.”

“Well, I am sure it is Kane. Beautiful there is no easy way to say this but his body is gone. His casket was empty.”

Xander walked over and took Alexander from the carrier and I took Kane out and removed the carrier from my body and sat down at the table.

We all just sat there absorbing everything when Nathan and Brooke came in. Brooke came over and took Kane from me and went and snuggled him.

“Want to fill us in on what is going on?” Nathan asked.

“Well, his body is gone and Sophia ran into him with the babies and he scented his son,” Xander explained.

“Did he say anything?” Brooke asked.

“No, I ran away before he could,” I told them as I could feel my emotions getting the best of me again.

“What are you going to do?” Nathan asked.

“We don’t know yet. We haven’t gotten that far.” Xander said.

“I think we need to bring Trevor in. He can see if any magic has been used. Maybe if it’s a spell has been placed on him then maybe he can remove it.” I said.

“Beautiful, that is a wonderful idea. I will link Avery to have him come join us.”

I went and got Alexander from Xander and went to the couch to feed him. He was getting a little fussy. Halfway through feeding him Trevor and Avery came in.

“Please tell me it’s true! Is he really back? Did he really not die?” Screeched Avery.

“We’re not sure but we’re hoping that Trevor can detect if he has had a spell placed over him or see if you can figure out what happened to him,” Xander asked Trevor.

“I can but I will need him to cooperate in order for it to work.”

“I am sure we can convince him,” I said.

“Are you sure beautiful?”

“Yes, I think I need to take Kane to him and let him meet his son first. I know he has questions and I want him to get his memories back. I will do whatever it takes.”

“I want to be there. You will not go alone. No more meeting with him alone.” Xander said.

“Ok.”

I’m not sure why but this upset me. I know he is my other mate. He would never hurt me or his son. We had to figure this out.

“I’m going to the library to see if I can find anything,” I said as I stood up to put the baby carrier back on.

Avery and Booke stood up and followed me out. We made our way to the library and opened the door.

“What are we looking for Sophia?” Brooke asked.

“I don’t know, maybe emerald wolf mates dying or reincarnated wolves or s**t I have no clue.”
