Chapter 36: Divorce I

"You are what?" He knew what he heard but just wanted to make sure that she was telling him everything and not leaving anything else behind.

"I am a substitute, I wasn't the one that was Supposed to he your bride, it was meant to be my sister, actually my step sister Jessica but she backed away last minute after what happened to your family and I had to take it up"

"Why? Do you know what you were getting yourself into? You know how all these things ends? It leaves you in heart ache and you will be the only one who gets to suffer it all, can you bear it all?" Shawn was not trying to get hard in her, he wanted to understand her and for her to tell him everything, he knows that she isn't the sort of woman who would do anything without a reason. She loves a simple life, he has seen that right from the first day that they entered into Garden city, she was bound to taking care of him without even having to ask for anything.

Shawn wanted to hear her reason, he wanted to know everything that has to do with her and her Family, though he wasn't really sure that she was going to go that far in revealing it all ti him but then he wanted to try.

"Yes I know, and I knew what I was getting myself into" She was not a fool, she knows how these kind of stories end, it doesn't always end well for the substitute, Sometimes, the real bride comes back and wants to take her spot, the entire marriage falls apart and she is forced to leave in shame, that's how it has been but then she has to live with that. There are times in which the groom discovers that the bride is a substitute and embarasses her in front of everyone by revealing the truth, other times it ends in divorce, she doubt Shawn is the man that will do that to her, he seems different and she wanted to trust that he was different from the other men that she sees out there.

So Many times, Shawn has proven that he was different and trustworthy, only quite a few men will go out for their way to get pads for her and help her with her work, Shawn was that kind if man, the only thing about him about him was that he doesn't Help her out in cleaning the house until recently.

"And?"

"Please don't do this, I just wanted to do for the money, everything that I have done has been because if my mother but then I was tricked and I wasn't given the money until the other time that the hospital when my father lost his contract and had no other choice than for him to pay the money that he promised, it would be unfair to promise that you will do something and then go back on your words"

"Yes it would be" he stared at her, studying the lines on her face trying to see what was she had in mind and if he can see right through her, she had a lot in her mind and he just wanted to find out what it was. He doubted another opportunity will come again, and she will want to tell him everything like she did today. Hannah was not always this free, she was scared that if he finds out the truth, he will leave her and she doesn't blame him for that, however he wasn't that he had that in his mind.

Not that he was better than other men but he was not going to be like Nike who wfy her and cheated on her when he discovered that she was an illegitimate child. Shawn was more of a man than he will ever be in a million years.

"I know what this means for you and you are not happy with everything that is happening right now, you got married thinking that is Jessica Lockwood that would be your bride, you had no clue that you will be tricked into something else and I am deeply sorry for deceiveing you this way, it was never intentional and I understand that you will have to take necessary measures just so you can go after what you want"

"What necessary actions are you talking about?" He wanted to know what else dhe had in mind, he knew though that it was different from what he was thinking. Jessica was the one who refused to be his bride, if she had then Hannah would not have been proposed to, she would not have to stand as the bride, In all she saved her and she should be grateful for it but then he doubted that girl wikk ever be grateful. Though he hasn't met Jessica but from the time that he talked with her in the phone, he knew that she smelled like trouble and he had to run far away from her. If she had turned out to be his bride, he was not sure how long that they will last.

She might even make him file for a divorce since he wasn't get real husband but with Hannah it was different, she made him want to stay even when he heard that he needed to go back to where he came from and take over his rightful place as the Alpha. Shawn was hoping that this will not be the end of them and will stay behind every time that G brings it up to him. That was really something else, it was not because he was enjoying the serene if the city a little too much but because if Hannah. He does not want to leave her and just leave without having to give her any explanation, she will be devastated and unhappy.

"The thing is, I know that I have done wrong and need to be the one who correct the mistake and injustice that has been done to you that is why I am asking for a divorce"
