Chapter 74: A love like ours

When he realized that she had gone, he got off from the table and went after her but it was already too late for she had locked the door, and was already inside her bedroom. he had a feeling that she was leaning against the door and did not walk away, she must have noticed that he would come after her. Hannah had taken her time to study him as well and realized that Shawn had a soft spot for her and would not let her be mad at him for a long time.

"Hannah, let's have our breakfast I was only kidding, there was no woman who was looking at me I was just trying to pull your legs and nothing more"

she did not bother to say anything and just stood behind closed doors smiling sheepishly, trying not to make a sound so that he would not hear her, but what she had not realized was that just as she could tell a few things he was thinking he could equally sense what was running through her mind almost at any time.

"Come on, open up, I know you're in there and that you are hearing me so don't act as though you ran into the bathroom to cry, I know you're not crying but standing behind the door listening to me right now. it is one thing to listen and yet another to respond" "Well, I don't want to respond" She still had to put up with the acts that she was mad at him for what he had said, but she wasn't, she knew that he was better than Mike and would never do to her the things that Mike did to her with Ashley. sometimes she wonders what they saw in each other and now that he has gotten fed up with her, he is trying to get back into her life. that was something stupid and she will never accept it matter what he says and no matter how much he pleads.

"Why don't you want to respond when you are already talking to me? please, Don't Play hard-to-get"

She frowned, she hated that he thought she was playing hard to get. "I am not playing hard-to-get!" she snapped and he laughed.

"See, you can you can get angry at me which means you can equally respond to me, why are you keeping quiet? if you are mad at me for what I said all you have to do is tell me and I will not say it again"

"I am mad at you for bringing up another woman into our conversation"

"Are you mad at me or are you jealous?"

She was aggravated and she quickly flung the door wide open exposing Shawn standing at the doorstep smiling at her, She glared at him and he pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Why did you do that?"

"When did you suddenly shut your door when I was waiting for you so that we could finish our breakfast together"

"I already lost my appetite since you're the one who started this"

"You cannot lose your appetite when we are not even close to finishing our food, and besides I was only teasing, don't take it"

Of course, she knew he was only teasing her but then, she just wanted to put up an act so that he would know that she did not like it when he looked at other women. Hannah was not going to admit that she was jealous and did not like him talking about other people, especially women other than those who were his friends and his pack members. he might be alpha but she was his mate, and she wanted him to talk about his Beta and his friend, and tell her anything about his family, but not about the women who were checking him out at the supermarket or the ones who were acting flirtatious towards him when she was not around, that made her jealous but that will be the last thing she would ever admit.

"I think I am done and have lost my appetite already, I don't want to go on, you can finish it up can't you?"

With a single glance into her eyes, she knew she was lying and was still hungry she had not even touched the pancakes that he served to her yet she was already tired, that was something that she was not expecting at all.

"I don't believe you and besides you can't lose all that appetite when you were the one who was starving earlier when you were packing up your bags"

"Well, I was starving but someone had to start insinuating that he had other women lined up for him and so, I eventually lost my appetite, I don't want to sit on the dining table with you listening to your escapade with other women, I bet it was nice," she said the latter in a whisper and he laughed.

"It was not nice, there is no one that I want other than you and besides there was no escape, I was just the one who was trying to pull your legs"

"Why would you do that to me?"

"Because it is funny seeing you get jealous"

"Hey! I'm not jealous!" she snapped and he laughed even harder. she was denying it, but her eyes already sold her out as they shot daggers at him, there was no need for her to deny it but Shawn would let her have her moment so that she wouldn't feel bad about it" "Now will you come with me let us Finish up our breakfast"

"That depends"

"On what?"

Shawn could not tell what she wanted but then he knew what he wanted so he quickly put his hand around her and scooped her up in his arms, her eyes widened realizing that he had already taken her in his arms.

"That isn't what I meant, put me down" She struggled to break away from him, but then it was already too late, he had carried her like his new bride.

"I forgot something"

"What is it?"

"I never got a chance to carry you in my arms when we got married"
