Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance -
Chapter 486
The day after Mia gave birth, her hospital room was swamped with unfamiliar faces.
These were distant relatives from the Cedillo family and friends of Hansen, including a few tall, handsome, and wealthy bachelors who gathered around the baby. It was obvious they were Hansen's close pals. Mia rarely heard her husband mention them, but their group chat was always pinned at the top of his phone.
With the birth of his son, Andre was all smiles and charm. Even when Mars touched his son, Andre just laughed it off. When Conner lifted the baby's blanket, Andre issued a "gentle" threat, "If my son catches a cold, you're going for a swim in the Arctic." The hospital room, which had seemed spacious before, now felt cramped with all the visitors, making Mia realize how small it actually was. Many friends and family from the Irvin side also came to meet the baby.
However, the four self-proclaimed "godfathers" had already staked their claim, casually announcing to the unfazed baby Henry, "I am your godfather." As one wave of visitors left, another arrived. His parents, however, barely spared him a glance. Lying in his crib, the baby began to cry. The sound silenced the bustling room, and a dozen people crowded around to comfort him. Mars attempted to pick up the baby, but Teddy intervened, "Do you even know how to hold a baby?"
Mars replied, "No, but I can learn." Asher was shocked, "You want to practice on Andre's son? You must not value your tailbone." Before Mars could pick up the baby, he scanned the room, noticing the absence of the scary man. He quietly reached out to the man's precious son.
Picking up the baby from the waist, Mars' friends quickly corrected him. "Mars, I saw Andre cradle the baby's head when he picked him up." Mars responded, "Really? Then I'll do the same." The baby in the crib continued to cry, surrounded by the intimidating "godfathers." Hearing the crying, Madison approached her grandson, just in time to see Mars attempting to pick up the baby. Startled, she intervened, "Mars, let me hold the baby. You guys take a break, Andre will be back soon." Madison picked up the crying baby, who looked pitiful. "Oh, Henry, do you miss Mia? Don't cry, grandma will take you to her."
Sitting beside her daughter's bed, Mia reached out to take her son. Gently patting the baby's swaddling, the little one stopped crying upon seeing his mother. After all, he was just born. His parents should show him some love.
Rebecca, observing the baby, commented, "Henry has Andre's mouth and Mia's facial shape." Naomi prepared a bottle and handed it to Mia, who began feeding her son. Just like his mother, little Henry had a big appetite, needing several meals a day. Naomi was in high spirits, her joy evident in every step. As Mia was unable to entertain guests due to her condition, Naomi took over the duties of hosting their relatives. All of them laughed at Madison's remark. Mia, feeding the baby, studied her son's face closely. "Does he look like us? I can't tell."
Soon, Molly arrived, intending to see the baby. However, she was quickly swarmed by her relatives, "Molly, come meet your uncle, aunt, and grandmother." Hansen happily shared, "So much has happened in our family the past two years, it's hard to decide what to share first. This is my daughter, Molly. Isn't she beautiful? Doesn't she look like her mother?"
Molly, initially taken aback by the attention, was soon engaged in conversation with the relatives.
When Andre returned from registering the baby's birth, he handed the crimson household register to his wife. Head of the household: Andre. Wife: Mia. First son: Henry. Mia looked at the register and couldn't help but laugh. She then looked at her full and awake son, who was gazing at her. "Welcome to the world, little Henry," she cooed.
In the hospital, Leo, Anya, and Cooper were surprisingly absent. The Cedillo family. "Let's go to the hospital, Leo. I want to see auntie and the baby." Leo was sitting in the backyard with his laptop and a cup of soda. Anya sat beside him, urging him to go. "Leo, everyone else has gone to visit. It'll look like we don't care if we stay here."
Leo glanced at his drink. "Go get me another soda." Anya, miffed, refused. Leo, seeing that he couldn't convince her, explained, "If you go now, all you'll see is a room full of people. You won't even be able to see Mia and the baby."
After explaining, Anya understood. "Oh, I see, Leo." When she saw Leo back at his laptop, she asked, "What are you doing, Leo?" Leo replied, "Playing a game." "But it looks like code to me." Anya might be naive, but she's certainly not dumb.
Leo glanced at the girl beside him, closing his laptop. He gestured towards his glass, "Go refill my water, would you? And while you're at it, grab my USB cable from the nightstand in my room." Anya obediently did as Leo instructed, heading straight for his bedroom before rushing off to fetch him some sparkling water.
Around seven in the evening, Leo finally closed his laptop. "Should we go now, Chad?" Anya asked, having pestered Leo over a dozen times throughout the day. Leo replied, "It's too early. My uncle's friends definitely haven't left yet. The Byrne's, the Irvin's, they'll all still be there. Let's wait a bit longer."
