Sweet Redemption Epilogue

~ Five years later -

"Babe where are you taking me?" I asked giggling.

Ahkari has her hands over my eyes. I know she teleported us somewhere because the sun is blasting down on me, not like the chill from the winter air we just left. Ahkari and I have spent the last, over a year traveling the realms. We were just in Fae realm for their winter festival.

"The only place that we haven't been able to travel to until right now." She said.

I frowned. The only realm we hadn't been to yet was the realm of the Dragons. Despite having a treaty they still were skeptical about us teleporting in and out of their world. I couldn't blame them though. Dragons already kept to themselves. Many of them were not happy about a new treaty being in place. I didn't blame them for not wanting to jump into things so quickly.

"How did you get permission to bring us to the Dragon realm?" I asked her.

"Don't worry about that." She said as her hands still covered my eyes. "I had to show you this view." She told me. "Ready?" She asked all giddy.

"Yes." I said matching her giddiness.

Ahkari uncovered my eyes and I gasped. We are standing on top of a castle made of gold. The sun is setting on the horizon and the glare off of the gold and other gems that the castle was made up from, set off an absolutely breathtaking glow. Small rainbows danced in the air around us.

"Isn't it amazing?" Ahkari asked me.

"How... How did you even know about this?" I asked her as I looked around.

On the top of the castle is a beautiful garden. All kinds of flowers I have never seen before danced in the glow that the castle was giving off. The breeze brushed past us making the flowers dance even more.

"Akeehla may have told me and helped me set this up." Ahkari told me sheepishly.

I turned to my mate and smiled. Over the last few years Ahkari and I had been on several missions. All of them were successful of course. Sometimes it was just the two of us, sometimes we were on a team with our twins. A few times we had all branched off and joined other teams as well. The twins, and even Bou and myself, have grown as BOC members over the years.

Though I could tell this life was draining Ahkari. Every time we turned around there was a mission. After what happened with One she didn't view missions the same. She was just over the constant that this life came with, not that I blamed her. At one point we had barely even been home. My mate missed our home and I did too. After what had happened with Omen the fight just wasn't the same for either of us.

So, we took a vacation. Tia allowed us as much time as we wanted. Ahkari took me to every single realm. Most of our time was spent in the Fae realm though. Not only did Ahkari and I love it the most but Queen Annag enjoyed having us there. We got to stay in the royal castle since Queen Annag felt so highly of us. I say that but honestly that women treated us like we were her grandchildren or something. It was nice honestly. I grew up with no family. Bruce welcomed us into his family with open arms but nothing compares to the life Ahkari gave me.

Not only do I have a mate, something that I thought would never happen, I gained brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, parents, grandparents. Our family grew more and more everywhere we went. I always knew that you didn't have to be blood to be family but Ahkari had me looking at that statement in a new light. Everywhere we had been to we made friends that were more like family.

Our missions were sometimes long but the feeling of saving people was otherworldly and addictive. It was no wonder why my mate and her family had all went into this life. They had the perfect power to protect everyone, and that is exactly what they did.

Still, the life got tiring. Even traveling like this got tiring. I never had an actual place to call home. Growing up with the Bounty Hunters meant we were constantly moving around. Now they have a base though. No more moving around for them and that made me happy. Still, nothing was like the apartment I shared with my mate. That was home. Our home. I missed it honestly. I missed the younger Morningstar's breaking in to wake us up. I miss my brothers and my little nephews and niece. I miss Belle's cinnamon rolls and the pot she grows. And I miss my twin. I don't think Bou and I have ever been apart until we met our mates.

"Tia asked how we would feel about a new job." She said.

"A new job?" I asked skeptical.

Ahkari nodded. "She offered the two of us a position at the school. We would have to pretty much retire for the BOC but we could still be asked to go on missions if Tia specifically needs us. Which I don't think would happen very often." She admitted.

"Okay? So what's the job?" I asked.

Ahkari bit her bottom lip. "She wants me to take over a Fae history class." She said.

I gasped. "So you would be a teacher?" I asked her.

"Yeah." Ahkari said nodding.

"That is amazing babe!" I started jumping up and down. "You love the Fae history, you even

speak the language! You could teach those kids everything." I said excitedly.

"I know! It's extremely exciting." She said.

"So why don't you seem excited?" I asked her.

"Tia has also offered you a position." She said.

I shook my head. "I am not teaching material Kari you know that." I said.

Ahkari shook her head. "It's not a teaching position." She told me.

"Okay? What is it then?" I asked her.

"That's great. Wouldn't you want to do that all the time?" She asked me.

I nodded. "Yes. You are right. I did love helping those kids and I do miss home. I'll give this a

shot but I will quit if I feel it isn't working out." I told her sternly.

"Hey, you and Bianca together?" Tia asked.

"Yeah." Ahkari answered.

"Hey Tia." I greeted my sister-in-law.

"Hi B." Tia replied. "Have the two of you had time to talk?" Tia asked us.

Ahkari rolled her eyes. "Yes and we both agreed." She told her sister.

"That's great! Because I need you back here immediately." Tia said with an edge to her voice.

Ahkari and I shared a look.

"Everything okay Tia?" My mate asked.

Tia sighed. "Ambrose needs our help. Get home as soon as you can." She said and then hung

up.

Ahkari and I looked at each other for a moment before jumping into action.

"Looks like we are going home." Ahkari said making me laugh.

"Looks like it."

"What is going on?" Vessa, another team member from the other vehicle asked. She is a half

demon half angel and is Akeehla's best friend. Also, she is very scary. Possibly the most

Vessa walked over to the car and Ares rolled his window down.

"Ares is making us walk home because he's mad that Bou and I f****d." Acaisia told her.

Vessa looked at Ares as she rested her elbow on the door. "You're mad that your sister and her

Ares rolled his eyes. "No, I'm mad that they did it during the mission, in the middle of the

"They could have put us all in danger Vessa!" Ares seethed.

Vessa rolled her eyes. "You need to meet your mate already." She mumbled before looking at

Acaisia then back to Ares. "I can't believe you are going to make your pregnant sister walk." She

The car went silent as we all blinked at her.

Aciaisa was the first to recover. "Uhm, sorry, what the f**k did you just say?" She asked.

Vessa gave her a strange look before realization crossed her features. "I thought you knew.. I

mean Ares did." She said.

"What?!" My mate shouted at her brother.

Ares sighed. "I thought you were waiting to tell us. You really don't know? I could hear the

heartbeat before we even left for the mission." He told her.

At this point I had gotten out of the car. Acaisia was staring at her brother like he had grown an

extra head. I put my hand over her stomach in shock. "You're pregnant?" I asked her. That would explain why she was extra horny lately. Acaisia turned to look at me. "I had no idea.." She trailed off as she looked down at my hand

"I think we should get home now." I said as I lifted Acaisia and set her in the car. She slid over

and I got in with her. Just then Ares phone started to ring. "What's up Tia, we are on our way home right now?" He answered the call. "What?!" He

sounded angry. "Is he okay?" He asked. "See you in a few hours." He said then hung up the

phone.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"She wouldn't say much, just that Ambrose needs our help." He replied. I looked down at my mate who looked to still be in shock. I kissed the top of her head and

pulled her into my lap. I sent as many soothing vibes as I could manage through our bond. We

are going to have a baby.
