Sweet Subterfuge novel by Trina Duo -
Chapter 361
Kevan suddenly found himself being ridiculous again.
He had already decided last night to end things decisively, but when things really got down to it, he withdrew once more.
Dylan sneered back at him and said, "Don't underestimate me! Let me have a good chat with Larissa first during these two days. Don't do anything rash!"
"No need." Kevan refused his good intentions. "I was the one who spoke of divorce first. My two cousins... they're getting restless again." His half-narrowed eyes were gleaming coldly.
Although Dylan was not completely privy to his family matters, he was aware of a good deal of it. Hearing him say that, Dylan's heart rose up into his throat. "They've made a move on Larissa?" "Cody tried to pursue her, but failed," Kevan said.
"Holy fuck, dude-!" Dylan was really disgusted. "Can your cousins honestly change their tactics in fighting you? They just keep trying to steal your girl to give you some setbacks. It's fucking low, man!" Kevan smiled mockingly. "Considering how stupid they are, they can only think of inferior tactics like this."
"But this time, they really dealt you a blow, didn't they?" Dylan's gaze on Kevan had sympathy in them. He knew how much Kevan loved Larissa, and knew that if Kevan was not out of ideas, he would never take the initiative in raising the idea of divorce.
"Last time you were soft on them, letting them off for the sake of your grandpa. This time, are you gonna finish them off for good?"
Kevan's smile grew bigger, but his gaze was chilling. "Of course," he said.
Kevan brought Dylan to Ruby's new place.
"So, your 'friend who needs a divorce' is Ruby Cole?" This was the truth that Dylan found out after arriving below Ruby's new residence.
"Yep," Kevan answered in a low voice.
"Really?" Dylan could not believe it. "Wasn't she the one who said that she loved Cody to death? How many years has it only been, and she already wants to get divorced?" "She said Cody beat her," Kevan remarked mildly, and Dylan asked, "Do you believe her?"
"Yes," Kevan replied.
He had taken Ruby to the hospital to check for her wounds, none of them were fake, and according to the doctor, her injuries were not light.
"Cody is a violent psychopath."
Although Kevan had let off his cousins then, he had been monitoring their families without stopping all these years. He knew exactly what kind of person Cody was.
"He's an alcoholic, and gets violent whenever he's drunk."
As his wife-someone he'd married in order to give Kevan setbacks, Ruby was naturally his first target to vent his anger to.
"Well, serves Ruby right!" Dylan said gleefully. He still remembered how Ruby humiliated Kevan all those years ago-even if Kevan had not minded because that was a scheme he had devised himself. But Ruby's two-faced personality was ingrained deeply into his memory, which made him feel revolted every time he thought about it.
Kevan did not deny Dylan's words, but only reminded him, "Later when you're in front of her, don't make any cold remarks. You must be caring, sympathetic, and willing to help her."
Dylan stared at him hard and asked in a low voice, "What are you planning now?" He was not stupid enough to think that the rumors on the Internet were true. Kevan has only ever liked that one person from before up till now. Even if Larissa did not exist, just with how much of a clean freak Kevan was, he would never ever like someone like Ruby, who was absolutely tainted in body and soul.
