Chapter 22-3

My heartbeat became uncontrollable when I heard those last words, and I cleared my throat aloud,

"That’s the last thing I would do, Dexter. I can never like you no matter what so keep dreaming if you think I ever will." I half yelled while releasing his grip on my waist and began walking ut of the room without turning to spare him another glance,

I increased my pace, rushing down the stairs and hoping that he had not heard my thumping heart earlier. When I got to the living room, I sat down on the couch, my mind reminding me of how stupid I was gradually becoming.

It was finally D-day for the insemination, and maybe I was nervous. I really couldn’t believe I would be carrying a baby in my soon,

I felt it was going to be new, but I had to be ready. I didn’t want to think about not being in the baby’s life else I knew if I continued doing that, I wouldn’t be able to give it up,

The baby was the price I had to give to see my mother and I had fully accepted that.

As soon as I was done dressing, I said a little prayer and headed outside. As I got to the car, the door was opened and I stepped in,

Dexter was already seated with his phone glued to his eyes as always,

"A couple of dresses were sent to you by the old witch, but I had all of them burnt to ashes," Dexter announced and I immediately swung my gaze at him,

"What??" I yelled.
